I had windows an siding put on my July 2024.The windows was done 1 day an the siding the next day. After work was done I notify the company that a couple of nails was still thru the window sill,They send s***one out twice in Sept look for about a minute than left They call me several times saying they would fixed the problem. Then on Nov 4 I've received a call from the product manager saying this was not cover under warranty an They weren't going to fix it.His name is Artie G***I'm not believing what I'm hearing that fixed something they messed up from poor workmanship.

    Business Response

    Date: 11/05/2024

Our service manager Artie G*** spoke with the customer.  He informed the customer that while installing the siding nails came through the drywall on the inside of the house due to the fact the the drywall was not installed properly as it was right up against the house sheathing (not on the joists).   It was explained to the customer that this is not covered under the warranty and that for a small fee we could have our drywall installer cut out and repair the area for him at our cost. He was not very happy he hung up on Artie.  This is not a workmanship issue.  Our offer still stands to repair the area for the customer for a small fee.

I signed a contract with Allied Remodeling of Central Maryland to completely replace my porch roof on, 6/28/2022. They completed the job on, July 20, 2022. The porch roof started leaking not too long after, but a little after the flat roof started leaking. Allied Remodeling was given a chance to cure. They attempted to cure the porch roof on, Wednesday, June 5, 2024. The leaks resurfaced in August 2024 which was not long after the cure attempt.

    Business Response

    Date: 09/09/2024

This customer is not entitled to a refund nor will they receive a refund.  What they will receive is our warranty on the roof.  If the roof is leaking we will go back and fix it. The customer does not dictate terms of "how many times a leak happens" and they get a refund.  We will repair the leak

I am rejecting this response because: they had a chance to cure when they were notified and came back out on the dates detailed in this complaint to correct the issue. Based on prior experience with them with another part of my roof, they never corrected the problem. I gave them ample opportunity to correct the issue and they failed. So, I have lost faith in their ability to correct the issue.

    Sincerely,

We have zero proof the roof is leaking except for the fact that this customer is saying it is leaking.  We have called this customer in an attempt to inspect the roof and she refuses to call us back.  The customer has previously lied and swindled her way into a refund of her other roofing contract through your sham arbitration process.  This is cut and dry.  The customer's roof is leaking (so she claims).  The roof is under warranty.  We are obligated to fix the leak not give her a refund.  I don’t care what her "trust level" is with us.  None of that is relevant

    Business Response

    Date: 09/10/2024

This customer is in no way looking for a repair of her porch roof and I am not even convinced the roof is leaking, she is only looking to try and swindle her way into another refund though the arbitration process.  We tried to call the customer multiple times yesterday.  She did not answer her phone nor did she call us back. So, we asked Alex (our service technician) to stop by there this morning.  Alex knocked on the door,  Miss **** came outside and told him to leave and that she did not want anyone from Allied on her property. She turned down our service.  Again, this customer is not serious about fixing a roofing issue (if there is one at all) she is simply looking for another handout.  If she is refusing to allow us to service our roof this complaint must be closed.

Allied replaced the roof on my house, July 21-22, total cost was $5909.00. The first week of March 2024 the new roof leaked, less than three years, and damaged the ceiling in my bedroom. A repair person came out to fix the roof, using roofing caulk, a ( bandaid ) did not replace any shingles and did not fix the ceiling. Allied said that they were not responsible to repair the ceiling because of wind driven rain. The roof that I had Allied replaced was 29 to 30 years old, and has been through all types of severe weather and I never had any leaks or problems, their new roof should not have leaked. If what Allied reason for leaking, why did the roof leak in one place and nowhere else? I had different roofer replace the area of roof that was leaking. Please call me so I can explain in more detail.

    Business Response

    Date: 08/23/2024

We fixed the customer’s leak after the storm. The customer called 3 years after we did their roof install that they had a small leak after a major rain storm. We found the source of the leak and uses roofing adhesive (not caulk) to re seal the area that had lifted during the storm. This is industry standard and a small leak does not require shingle replacement.  After our repair, the roof did not leak again and the customer never called us to report another leak. If the customer paid another roofer to come back and unnecessarily replace shingles on a roof that was not leaking, that is not only completely unnecessary but 100% something the customer has to pay for themselves. This wasn’t a leak we couldn’t fix or refused to fix. We fixed the leak and honored our warranty. The customer is not entitled to any refund. If the customer would like to have us repair the interior we can have that conversation but asking for us to reimburse the customer for something he paid for that was completely unnecessary is absurd. If the customer wants to discuss the interior he can call us

    Business Response

    Date: 08/23/2024

I just spoke to the customer. I reiterated that we are willing to repair his interior ceiling and that this offer was made to him several months ago. He says that no one from our company offered that. This is 100% not true as you can see in our response to the MHIC complaint in which the customer ALSO received a copy. His response was that he “wanted to see how the BBB complaint plays out” even though we agreed to address is only complaint. This customer is just trying to be opportunistic and his concern is getting free money rather than actually addressing his complaint. We request this complaint to be closed as soon as possible as we have met every requirement this customer has asked

I am rejecting this response because:  I noticed the leak in the new roof two years and eight months after it was installed, it could have very well been leaking before that. The repair that they did was just a bandaid that will last a few years and leak again. The refund I am seeking is for the work that the other roofer did, $3966.00. I had licensed inspector, license *****, do a inspection of the roof repair and found that roofing cement is a temporary repair. The other roofing co. said that there was no sealant under the ridge caps, the shingles were nailed too close in the valley and that the installation was the cause of the leaks. The roof that Allied replaced was 30 years old and had been through all kinds of severe weather and never leaked, but their roof leaked.I have documentation, I am not sure how to up load them, if I could drop them off, I will do that. Please give me a call on my cell, 410-********.  Thank you

I had a brand new deck installed at the cost of $33,000 back in June of this year (2024); and we identified some issues with the deck prior to the completion, and we have still not had our problems resolved, I have an elderly mother in-law and two small grandchildren for which these issues provide a safety concern (see attached photos); my deck is bowing in the corner and a couple of the planks are not flush with the others on the deck, as a 65 year old retired Army veteran, this couple has been giving myself and my family the run around for over a month now, we cannot enjoy our new deck because of the issues stated above, I will not recommend this company to any of my government friends or anyone at all.

August 18, 2023 is the 1st day of construction. 21,661.00 is the amount that was paid to the business for the deck. Lifetime warranty on the deck is what the business committed to provide me.The nature of the dispute:the last picture I have attached shows the first day of construction and if you zoom into the top of the middle beam there were already construction default from whoever built and cut the support beam. This could of been prevented if they just ordered a new beam and take the messed up beam out ,the support beam is now a safety concern and the wood is bending and pulling the attached screws out of the support beams it was attached to as well as putting stress and tear on other mechanics of the construction of the deck.Whoever inspected this never considered my family’s safety. I have been reaching out to the foreman several times via email and phone. They are horrible in communication, the foreman came out to the residence a month later and seen what was going on with the support beam and ordered a piece of lumber that day, that piece of lumber is sitting in the wet grass for 2 weeks now. I have been reaching out to the foreman in regards to communication and time frame to fix this safety issue. If the construction was stopped and replaced that beam from day one that the mistake was made none of these issues would be happening right now. My safety and my family’s safety was jeopardized because of someone’s mistake and continued to build the deck like nothing was wrong. I am so glad that less than a year ago I took those pictures because I was excited about my deck and when I zoomed iI was so sad and disgusted that a huge construction company would treat their customers and jeopardize their safety . I am just applaud by the quality of the results of a 22 thousand dollar deck which could result in a major safety concern. I am more applaud at the communication around this safety issue and no one has any sense of urgency in regards to this matter.

    Business Response

    Date: 07/17/2024

There is absolutely no structural issue with the beam.  The deck was inspected by the county, the customer has nothing to worry about from that aspect.  Regardless, our supplier has authorized replacement of the beam and it is getting fixed

I am rejecting this response because: Mike S. Came out on Tuesday July 2, 2024 and looked at the issue , took pictures and said that it need to be replaced and you will have another beam dropped off tomorrow . That beam has been sitting in the wet soggy dirty ground since July the 3rd. That was the last time I talked to someone until I reached out to the BBB. Now I have been re routed to deal with Alex and he said he will have someone come out on Monday and Tuesday to look at the issue.

I entered into a contract with Allied Home Remodeling on 3/14/24 for window installation. The amount of the contract that I signed was $11,500. The invoice emailed to me for payment was for $12,880. There was no verbal or written approval from me for a contract increase. The additional amount was not discussed with or approved by me. I was told that I must pay $12,880 by the sales representative (AG) during our 5/9/24 conversation, however, I am only responsible for the amount on the signed contract because Allied did not receive homeowner approval for the increased costs.

The customer was told of the extra work that needed to be done.  This work had to be done due to the faulty siding install done at her house.  We explained to her what needed to be done and our contract allots for unknown issues that might come up.  If the customer would allow us, we can come back, remove what we did and her house can continue to leak water.  If that is acceptable I will send my foreman back to remove that work done to safeguard her home and she can pay us the contract amount as she wishes.

Unprofessional conduct of installers. First, even though we were to be notified of delivery of materials we weren't and walked out our front door to be blocked with materials. The installers were rude, unprofessional and had no regard for our landscaping. They continuously walked thru our flower beds breaking down plants and when asked not to do so they laughed at me. The hotest day of the year they left tarps on our lawn and destroyed large sections of grass. They took a 2 hour nap in our front lawn. They left cigarette buts in our flower beds, nails were left in the driveway, debris was left all over the garage floor and front porch. Not one person spoke English so that we could communicate with them. We have had a new driveway, front porch, stonework done, new fence, etc. and no one has ever disrespected us the way these Allied employees did. I cannot believe that Allied hired such disrespectful individuals. They drug ladders thru our flower beds. Allied took pictures of the damage to confirm our complaint but all they did was give excuses about their conduct. I was even called a racist. We even gave these employees water because it was so hot. I will never recommend this company. No employee representing Allied should call anyone a racist because I complained of their conduct. Taking a 2 hour nap in our front lawn was unbelievable. We now have to replace large sections of grass and flowers that were stomped on.

I had a roof leak in November around Thanksgiving, after having Allied install a new roof less than 6 months before. It took 2 weeks for me to get a call back, and another week for someone to come out. Miguel et al arrived They said nothing was wrong, they added some caulking to the window and left. In early January the roof leaked again. Majorly causing damage to 3 rooms.od my house. Miguel came again and agreed the flashing was improper, then replaced it on one side.. while telling his boss that Im a lier and the leak is impossible. I then had to fight to get a manager to come look and see I was not in the wrong. They agreed and finished the flashing replacement and said they'd fix the interior. It's taken 2 weeks for me to get someone to my home, then they argue what is actually being taken care of after we've already agreed. I asked for a different team as I do not trust Miguel at this point. This I was refused instead I got a call from the Assistant Manager Arty who proceeded to yell at me angrily for a solid 5 minutes, including insults and constantly saying f*ck this f*ck that. It was harassment and an attack because I want to have the warranty honored as described in our agreement to begin with.

    Business Response

    Date: 02/09/2024

We are fixing the drywall either Monday or Tuesday

    Customer Answer

    Date: 02/12/2024

Why I'm dissatisfied is that I was originally told in writing that they would be here Monday to fix the problem. The I received a call from the owner Paul only because I left a cryptic message on his voicemail via the call center answering service, because customer service was told not to give me any information to be able to contact the superior of Arty, the manager whom verbally assaulted me for 5 minutes on the phone. Now the same person whom failed to properly install and fix the roof 3 times in a row, is still being send to fix my ceiling. It's very hard to trust someone who has shown they don't know what they are doing to do more work on my home. There was no option when it came to resolution of the issue. Just even more time I have to wait with my house in shambles to have the problem fixed, and 4 days of having my home based business unable to operate. There has been no apology, just a feeling of "why did you think it was ok to reach out to an owner?" And a very discouraging lack of communication between the moving parts of the company was very very evident. The only semi remedy of this is that the agreement stated in the warranty which we are contracted to will hopefully finally be honored after 4 months of me having to fight tooth and nail to get anything done and taking on verbal assault from the employees here.

Im disappointed and disgusted with this company and the entire process I've been put through. They should honestly not hold any accreditation with the BBB.

The customer is always wrong in their mindset and they allow abuse to their contacted customers. That's unacceptable.

My roof started leaking a month ago. It was replaced in 2022. All levels of the rear of the house. A guy came out on January 27th and met with my mother. He stated he’d try to come that Saturday or whenever. I was under the impression they would come ready to repair the roof. I’ve called almost every day after a no show Saturday to get somebody to tell me if we are at least on the schedule. I get the same response every time. They say someone will call by close of Business. Finally Friday a guy called. I think Dean. He said Alex would call or someone to schedule us. Again no call back. It’s been mostly sunny. The weather is good. Even if they have other houses scheduled but to not give us any time frame leads me to believe they have no intention of repairing it. After spending $7000. This is unacceptable to be paying on a loan of a leaky roof. They need to repair it or refund my money. It’s only a year and a half old.

On 1/2/24 Allied Remodeling replaced the roof of my townhouse but on 1/6/24 I discovered my roof was still leaking. I paid $4,941.00 to Allied for this job.

According to my contract Allied committed to replacing my entire main roof. I contacted the company and as of today 1/26/24 they have failed to look at the leak. Some of Allied employees have been very obnoxious only stating that the leak is from a small area (flat roof that includes my main roof) where my house adjoins the neighbor's house without performing any tests to corroborate their statement. I had another roofing installment company look only at the flat roof and determined the flat roof had no leaks. Allied has failed to give me the decency of even going to the attic to look and see the areas that were wet and insists that I perform their due diligence and get an inspector that costs $600+ to fix the issue. My roof is still leaking, and I can see cracked concrete in the ceiling that may fall, making this issue potentially hazardous considering the huge amount of rain we've been experiencing lately.

I can move forward and have another company look at the leak but since Allied gave a lifetime warranty in contract and the job is newly done, no other company wants to perform any work here.

My request is that Allied with full transparency come out to my house to determine where the leak exists. Please note Allied Remodeling that is supposedly a professional company is making claims that they have absolutely no evidence of to support their claim while failing to do their due diligence to prove the true cause of the leak. Please help me resolve this matter as it's potentially a hazard to occupants in my home, should loose concrete start falling.

    Business Response

The area that is leaking is the customer's flat roof area which is not part of our contract.  We sent our service tech to inspect the roof.  We have since given the customer an estimate on replacing that area and to this date the customer has not given us the go ahead to replace that flat roofing area.  The customer still insists it is the shingle roofing area (the area we replaced) that is leaking and that is not correct.  Our service manager Artie G**** emailed the customer:  "Good morning. My name is Artie G**** the service manager for Allied Remodeling. You and I spoke at length today about your leak. My install foreman said is coming from the flat roofing area.  You said you believe that is coming from the shingle area. We came to an agreement that you would hire a licensed inspector and if they say that the leak is coming from the work that we did, we will cover the costs for the inspection and also fix the leak and take care of the interior damages. Once you receive the inspection report, you could forward it to this email."  That email was sent 4 days ago and we have not received any response from the customer.
