    I received a letter from Advanced Radiology - St. Joseph Breast Center dated 12/07/2021 notifying me that it was time for my annual mammogram. I made an appointment for 05/17/2022. On 05/17/22, after the technician was finished taking images, I was asked to wait while the images were checked. After approx. 20-30 minutes, I was told it was OK to leave. Shortly thereafter, I received a letter, dated 05/19/2022 from Advanced Radiology that additional images were required for evaluation - these images were NOT requested by my Physician - for an issue that was discovered on my previous annual mammogram (12/2021). I made an appointment for 06/07/2022. An additional (2) images were taken at this appointment. I received a statement from Advanced Radiology dated 07/02/2022 showing a balance due of $561.22 after the two visits were submitted to my insurance - $318.64 for the visit of 05/17/2022 and $242.58 for the visit on 06/07/2022. I checked with my company's insurance agent regarding Advanced Radiology being a participating provider with our insurance and was advised that they are considered a participating provider and, therefore, I should not have received a balance billing for the 05/17/2022 visit, and that I should disregard any bills received for that visit. I am disputing the balance bill of $242.58 for the 06/07/2022 visit due to the fact that the additional images should have been taken on the 05/17/2022 visit. Advanced was well aware of the issue, an ultrasound was performed the previous year at the same facility and should have been addressed as part of the annual mammogram visit. I have now received a letter from a debt collector, dated 10/06/2022, with whom I have sent a letter disputing the charges.
