    Maryland's Best Remodeling, owner Michael *******, is charging us a late fee, refusing to address roofing installation problems and/or provide warranty service however, the signed contract does not have any stipulation of late fees.

    According to Maryland Code Regulations 20.53.08.04, a supplier can only charge a late fee if it's specified in the customer's contract.

    We want Maryland's Best Remodeling, owner Michael *******, to stop this unfair business practice, and take off the illegal late fee.

    we have attached a copy of the roof contract showing that payment is due within 10 days of completion.  We also attached a copy of an interior contract they signed on the same day. It states the amount we charge for late payments. Iwe have also attached the final invoice showing it was paid late. We feel we have complied with all aspects of our contract.

    I am rejecting this response because Maryland's Best Remodeling is clearly not following Maryland Code, Commercial Law § 14-1315, also known as the Contractual Late Fees section.  The roofing contract does not have any language about late fees and therefore, Maryland's Best Remodeling can not under law apply late fees.
