      4/24/23 Monday at 2:30 pm I brought my daughter's car to the Sticker station in ********* ***** for an inspection sticker. I drove 2 hours on the highway from ************* to get there, average speed 65mph with no issue. Inspection was completed within 30 minutes. I pulled out of the parking lot and was about 1/4 of a mile away going at the speed of 20mph when all of a sudden the hood flew up into windshield . I could not see but safely was able to pull off to the side of the road. I had my mother in the passenger seat. We got out to see what had happened and what damage was incurred. The hood had overextended and hit the windshield. Thankfully it did not shatter the glass. I saw the damage and took pictures of the 2 side quarter panels dented. The hood support struts broke apart from their mountings. There was also a dent in the top of the hood. This was clearly caused from the sticker technician not closing the hood to the car. After taking pictures we turned right around and went back to the sticker station. I went back in to the station and the inspection tech that did my car was there. I told him what happened. He did not care. He did not ask if we were ok, didn't ask if there was any damage, didn't come out to see the car. I told him he didn't shut the hood and this is what happened. He walked away into the bay and came out 30 seconds later and said that there is a recall on this car regarding hoods. That is not true. it's a 2018 ****** Legacy. He wouldn't talk to ** and we didn't know what to do so we called the local police to file a report. He would not speak to ** for the full hour we were waiting for the police to respond. We filed a report with Officer ******* of the ************************************. We have a call into our insurance company and they called an adjustor today. They will be notifying ** of an estimate.

      We are sorry this incident occurred and relieved no one got hurt in this situation however, we have video evidence showing ************** clearly and concisely closing the hood to the vehicle upon inspection that day the incident occurred. This can been provided as evidence from our end. Our manager is advised to not engage in any complaints unless authorities are there to mediate and a report is filed. Feel free to reach out to *********************** to get the matter resolved we can supply video footage showing we are not at fault for this incident. Best regards.
