It is obvious that ****************** does not understand. She picked the colors and the home. She had adequate time to review the home prior to the work being done. She moved into the home immediately when it was ready. She refused to pay for and we had to lien the property and that forced the government backed loan to put pressure on her to pay for the home she was living in. We have tried to communicate with her to resolve any issues and she refuses. Now that she has filed a complaint and stated she wants it to end she will communicate with us.Customer Answer

we feel we have met the obligation of the contract. There is a balance due, and we are asking for it to be paid. The consumer a has stated there were items not completed however the consumer has not allowed us back on the property to review. I have asked her to negotiate but have not heard back. So, we are going to take legal action if not settled By November 30thCustomer Answer

We have stayed in communication with the client thru-out the process of her buying a home. First off I am ************ or may be the only dealer that would have taken on this project. Certainly not for the price that we did. This project was done in the fall too late in the season to plant. The window being cracked was reported in the late fall and was agreed to best replace in the spring in warmer weather. Was not a safety issue. The water issue we investigated several times and asked opinions of various people with knowledge similar to our own.
Sand started showing up in the water clogging the screens in the faucets. The consumer assumed that the problem was because work was done on the property. In our investigation we found that the pressure was not dropping and water was not draining out so we did not feel that there was a leak or break in the line. Because it was winter we waited until spring we were thinking that the sand was coming from the well. We felt that if maybe well was collapsing or the new pump we placed was more powerful than the old that sand was coming from there. We pulled the pump up 10 feet thinking that would be a solution. It appears sand still came. On the same day we pulled pump up we were going to change the window but in the process cracked the new window. We had to order the new window.
We understood the frustration but still felt the problem was in the well. The consumer filed a complaint on Wednesday the 17th not realizing we were scheduled for the 18th. So we pulled the pump up and connected to pipe on top of ground. So to determine where the sand was coming from. As of now we are being told that sand is still coming in. So we feel the well is failing and not producing enough water. We did not drill the well and do not know any history.
We repaired the window on the same day. The area around home does need to be groomed still. It is on our agenda along with other clients of projects done in the fall.

I purchased a home with Ames Home Center in March 2022 and the owner gave me his word that he would complete a series of tasks before and after I moved in. Including finishing my lawn and the installment of basement windows, etc. Even today, august 2022, I still do not have basement windows and it has been like pulling teeth to have them come work on my lawn. It is currently all sand with just mounds of dirt sitting there. I have contacted the builder multiple times with not much luck with timeline/ updates. He has never reached out to me first, his replies are always we are working on it. My parents also went into the builders office as I was not receiving any response just to stick up for me and he kicked them out, and walked them out even with them being civil just asking for an update on my behalf and told them I am now on the bottom of the list.Business Response

The buyer is correct that there are lingering items like the lawn that needs to be completed. Her project is on the list and will be completed in the order that it was created. She was told that it would be a while before completed when she closed. As for escorting her parents out of my office. The conversation was cordial in the beginning but when they didn't get the answer, they wanted they started insulting me and I asked them to leave. The trend this summer is that people are still not understanding there is a lack of qualified personnel to keep up with demand.Customer Answer

I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does satisfy my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint #********. I understand that by choosing to accept the business response that my complaint will be closed as resolved. In general there has just been nothing but poor communication since I bought the house, as a first time home buyer I am just ensuring that I am not being taken advantage of and just want to make sure that things are getting done. A time line or even just knowing next steps is all we have asked throughout the entire process and no one has ever questioned your integrity. Thank you

In March of 2020 my home was placed. Thankfully I didn't have much issues with the setup other than a rip in flooring that I was told would be replaced and signed a contract that within one year of purchase all repairs would be made on the home if a list is provided. February of 2021 I submitted pictures and list of repairs that needed to be made to my home. They sent one guy out to assess the home and do a few small repairs but was only there for one hour. I am still waiting for all other repairs to be done. I have called and emailed multiple times with no response! I take pride in my home and unfortunately I can't be proud of what I have. I have cracks in my wall, exterior doors that leak when it rains, water stains on my ceiling, flooring that is coming up everywhere, the wrong backsplash and trim that was supposed to be changed, floors that creek and a house that is not level. Please get this resolved.Business Response
