1 starI cannot encourage you strongly enough to stay away from this company.
I hired them to receive, store, and then transport furniture and decor to a new house. At first we were very happy with their communication. Upon delivery, however, when we assessed what had been received, we realized that a number of items were missing. At first they told us that they had never received the missing products. They went so far as to tell us that they had reviewed the security footage from the reported delivery dates of those goods and could confirm that they were not received. Then, however, I tracked down delivery receipts from the delivery companies. Slowly but surely Liberty Bell started to somehow find our "undelivered" items in their warehouse. (In their defense, two of the items had not been properly sidemarked by the shipping company. The rest of the misplaced items were completely Liberty Bell's fault.)
Liberty Bell refused to deliver the goods that had been misplaced by them. We had to pick them up from their warehouse. I eventually reordered the products that they still hadn't found. They have refused to credit me for this replacement cost. They ended up finding the smaller and cheaper of the two items after I had already ordered a replacement. They refused to pay my return costs for the replacement. Nearly four weeks later, they still haven't found the $1300 table that the owner himself signed into the warehouse upon delivery, and nor will they credit us for its replacement.
Liberty Bell had also delivered to us multiple items that were not ours (i.e. that were owned by other paying customers of theirs). Though I told them this multiple times, as I write, nearly four weeks from their initial delivery, they still have not picked up the items.Review fromAlice J.

They broke my TV, acknowledged it, but I have never been
Paid for the damage. All my knives and cutlery were missing and nothing was packed carefully—2 broken lamps, broken glass. In frames- I’m only asking for reimbursement for the TV. I was dealing with an office in Windham. No one answers the phone there- for weeks.

We agreed on a 2 hour move and I paid upfront. They showed up 2 hours late. Only 1 of the 3 workers moved the other 2 sat more then they worked. They got lost driving to my new home and I had to leave and help find them. They dented my wall and left. I was later charged an additional 2 hours. I called to explain I didn’t mind paying the original charge but the additional fee was extortion. I told

The customer simply needs to respond to the instruction emailed to them to resolve any possible issues. The BBB will now post this slanderous complaint online, which is blatant defamation. Most customers that complain to the BBB ( Like these folks) are looking to bully companies into subsidizing their moves by posting false and defamatory statement online as a tactic to get refunds. That *** work with some companies, but not Liberty Bell Moving & Storage. The BBB should be ashamed to allow this to take place, and is complicit in the slander and defamation. Its unfortunate when customers agree to a contract, then blatantly lie and disparage our company online, but this is how todays cyber dystopian online world works. Liberty Bell is a rip off company, they did a small move for me and charged me full price even after the movers who showed up and did the move suggested that I should get a refund since the job took less than 2 hours to complete. They tried to tell me that I signed a contract that said I couldn't file a complaint with the BBB and they would sue me if I did. We used this company to move a year and a half ago. My job caused me to move several times over the years. I have had good moves and bad moves. This was the worst. I could write a novel about all the issues we had. But I’ll be brief and explain their procedure ( which we were not aware of). They came and packed us up in what appears to be a very precise and efficient way. Then they brought our belongings to their warehouse and unpacked everything . According to their own employees, the storage conditions are very bad. We moved in two days but our belongings came in three different deliveries over three months. The first delivery came two days late with roughly a third of our belongings and arrived at 6 pm to start unpacking. I won’t get into the broken items or the way our things were strewn all over the truck. Suffice it to say that they combined what they brought of our belongings with another job. It was obvious when they started unpacking things that didn’t belong to us. Needless to say we told them the items did not belong to us and they took the items when they were done. Our second truck showed up nearly a month later. We were told that they would arrive at 7 am. They showed up at 8:30 pm in the middle of a rainstorm with thunder and lightning. They didn’t finish until midnight and again, our belongings were strewn all over the truck ( and a lot of the items soaked). The balance of our items came nearly two months later.
A year and a half later, we are still discovering missing items. We have settled with the company a year ago after lengthy back and forth. We were not satisfied with the settlement but in the interest of moving past the unpleasant event, we agreed. I wouldn’t have even written this if it were not for unpacking for Christmas and discovering that several cherished and valuable family treasures are missing. This company and I had a disagreement (they tried to change my move to the afternoon mere minutes before the job was supposed to start and we had everything lined up - they even confirmed the morning move the evening before), and instead of handling it in a professional manner they posted a derogatory video to you tube that was absolutely vicious and beyond disgusting. It was a mistake hiring Liberty Bell Moving for our move from ME to VA. The movers damaged almost all of our furniture in one way or another:1. They got grease stains on an upholstered chair and on 3 upholstered kitchen stools.2. We have a large lamp that we asked to be specially packed in a lamp box (which costs extra). It does not appear they actually packed the lamp in the lamp box. Whatever they did, they scratchedup the base, and caused various small tears, scratches, and marks on the lamp shade.3. They scraped up a lot of our wooden furniture. I observed one of the movers carrying our furniture from our origin without using moving blankets. I asked about this, and he told me they would be wrapping the items once they got down to the truck. It does not, however, appear that all items were fully wrapped. Several of our pieces of wood furniture showsigns of scraping up against other items. Our coffee table, our dining room table and chairs, and our bed frameall have scrapes and scratches. One chair in particular is horribly scraped up and is an eyesore.4. We have a wooden pedestal for a sculpture that they chipped the bottom of invarious places. One of the movers on delivery even spun the pedestal on one of the corners of its base as he was setting it down, which shows the lack of care that they were using in moving these items.5. When the movers arrived, they told me that they had discovered a hole in the moving truck, which meant some of the rain from the downpour the night before (when they were driving down to VA) had gotten into the truck. This resulted in several soaked boxes, and it resulted in our mattress getting soaked. We had to dry out the mattress for a week with the help of a dehumidifier (which we had to buy just for this purpose). They also stained the mattress - there is some dark staining (perhaps more grease stains) and some yellowing that is probably from the water damage.6. A nightmare to work with. They were supposed to bring our stuff to our new home on a Friday, but never showed. When I text the owner he said it would be the next day. When they finally came(2hours late), I noticed multiple items broken, our riding lawnmower taken apart, and a missing dresser. When I told the owner he said the dresser was damaged and they were fixing it. It arrived the next day with a completely different top and painted to match (horribly done too). The owner is unprofessional and a bully. Because we didnt spend extra on the insurance (we fell for the misleading good reviews), this company could be careless with our belongings and blame us for it.
