Around 2-3 years ago I called this agency to deal with a wrongfully filled debt by our ex landlord. I sent them proof of false filing and they said they would wipe the debt. Each of those involved were told to also call and make sure everything was cleared, as even though the debt was filed as one lump sum, each of us had our own account owing the money in their system. Come to recently each of us involved found our debts were not cleared as we were promised. We tried calling to see what had happened and they apologized and asked us to resubmit the evidence. We did. We've been fighting to find out what has been going on and I decided to go through and dispute it through the bank. The agency sent me a letter about needing a police report since I was filing for "identity fraud" (which was absolutely incorrect). I also noticed the dollar amount has gone up since the last we checked. In short- -Debt wrongly filed -Got it cleared -Years later it appears again -Reconnecting with the agency lead to nothing -Filed a dispute -Received an unrelated response There are three separate accounts of this same debt, one for myself and my two other roommates.

This dispute concerns a medical visit to ***********************, ************* on 5/10/2021 for my ****** Child, *******************, II. DOB 05/05/2006. ***** has Mainecare #********A. I have provided both *********************** AND The Thomas Agency with *****'s Mainecare information. We previously had ***** on our ***************** through AMO Med Plans ************ under my husband, *********************************** 5/23/1965. I have spent between 7 and 10 hours dealing with this bill to inquire that they ******************. Every time I speak with Northern Light or Thomas Agency, I am told they will bill accordingly. Now, I continue to be billed and nothing is ever resolved. I would like to file a complaint as now my name is in the hands of a credit agency negatively impacting my credit when this bill is covered by Mainecare. No matter who I speak to or how many times I call, the bill is never resolved. Today I spoke to Thomas Agency and was told that I have never called to address the problem. Somehow they have deleted the records of my calls. Please help me resolve this. All I want is to have this bill paid and to have my credit restored. Thank you - *************************

I received a collections notice from The Thomas Agency on behalf of B&L Properties on 11/13/2021, notifying me of a debt in the amount of $682.95. I disputed this debt via letter on 12/2/2021, but never received a response. In July 2022 I went to apply for a personal loan through my bank, and was not approved due to this outstanding debt on my credit report. I contacted The ****. Agency via phone on 7/28/2022, and was told that they had mailed me a copy of the itemized invoice for my debt shortly after receiving my letter in December 2021. I reported that I had never received this documentation, and after verifying The ****. Agency had my correct mailing address, requested another copy sent to me. The ****. Agency reported they would mail me another copy ASAP, which I never received. I filed complaints against The ****. Agency and B&L Properties with the ************************************ on 8/18/2022, but never received a resolution. On 10/6/2022 I received a letter from the The ****. Agency, including an itemized invoice from B&L Properties showing an outstanding debt of $443.92. I contacted The ****. Agency again via phone on 10/10/2022, and was told the debt is in the amount of $682.95. I disputed this, as it did not match the documentation I received and it took almost a full year for me to receive this information. The ****. Agency told me it took so long because they did not hear back from B&L, despite my previous phone call in July 2022 when a representative confirmed that the information was mailed to me. The ****. Agency also said that they would be reaching out to B&L again to address the discrepancy in the amount of the reported debt, and they would get back to me. In the meantime, they will put a hold on this debt being on my credit report for 60 days while the matter is investigated. They said that if I did not hear from them within this time frame I should try following up. This issue has debilitated my financial well-being for almost a year now.
