I have been a customer for over 15 years. I had issues like being charged more per gallon or tank rental fees because my purchases sometimes didn't fall inside their billing year which requires 500 gallon/yr purchases, even though they could see my overall usage was over 600 gallons/yr. They required me to pay in advance after I had trouble paying a bill after loosing my job one year. I paid it in full, but was never allowed to place an order without prepaying after that. I had to wait as late into the Fall as possible, prepay for 300 gallons by mail (online is now an option), try to make the 300 gallons last until Spring and make the second 300 gallon order. It was very inconvenient & I used less propane, but it was the only way to meet their minimum delivery & purchase requirements. Last Winter I prepaid for 300 gallons they never delivered. I got messages saying they tried. When I talked to them I found out the driver was eyeballing things from the road & decided he couldn't get close enough to the tank. He said snow & cars were why. I shoveled every day & could pull my 2wd vehicle in/out without issue. I pointed out I parked my car in the same location for years with no delivery issues. I got a new car & stayed home to move it the last time they delivered. That driver said there was plenty of hose on the reel & I didn't need to move it. The new driver decided he could tell from the road. I had to buy electric options to get by that Winter as I waited for a delivery that never happened. This Winter I got a call about downsizing my tank due to low usage. I said I'd rather get the propane I paid for last year. The "customer service" just wanted to argue about past delivery dates, but finally agreed to schedule a delivery. I got a call back to schedule tank removal as he argued about low usage. He even threatened to call the police if I didn't let them take it (I never said that). I got repeat with someone else. No delivery until I send records of my last delivery.

I didn't have room to mention getting charged tank rental fees even when I did make minimum purchase amounts & having to notice they did it & call to get it corrected. During the most recent calls I tried to get them to stop arguing & focus on my deliveries they show over the years to see my average usage. Nope, they wanted to argue over my last delivery date & wouldn't do anything until I could prove I had contracted them about delivery (glad I had some emails & didn't just talk to Hopkins) & sent records to confirm the last date they actually filled the tank. They wouldn't even discuss the options. I'm not sure my they are so focused on clearing up the specifics about the last fill date. They don't deny not delivering the propane I paid for last year & they see they have a credit on my account for my purchase that they never delivered. They even deducted a tank rental fee from the amount with no notice or receipt. I found out after logging into my account. I checked my account today after my phone calls & see all past usage & information is now gone other than the tank rental fee. I'm not sure why the just want to argue over a last fill date, they wouldn't give me a reason beyond the usage issue. I'm not sure why they wouldn't want me to have a tank big enough for a 300 gallon delivery. Why would I want to keep a big tank sitting in my yard I don't need? Why would I buy propane I don't want? I can't come up with a reason they would choose to fight with a customer over trying to get the product they paid for delivered & make sure the customer can buy as much as they want. I can heat things with propane & now (because of them) with electricity. I guess they prefer to have me sending my money to the electric company? I'm not required to prepay, schedule deliveries, shovel my driveway large enough for their trucks & don't get rental fees from the electric company. They sure are doing their best to move me away from using that high efficiency propane furnace I had installed back when they used to fill my tank with the propane I prepaid for.
