Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan's Blue Cross Rewards program is deceiving at best and a scam at worst. For two years in a row now, I have signed up for the program online, found a "green trophy provider" for the rewardable service of mammogram, had the service provided and waited for my claim to be processed to receive my $50 reward. It has been two months since I had the service, the claim has been processed but no reward has been sent. Like last year, I called customer service to ask about the status and was put on hold for a long time while the representative supposedly worked with web support to "look into" the problem. I gave Blue Cross the benefit of the doubt that I did something wrong last year, but I followed the online instructions to the letter this year, and they are still claiming that the I didn't sign up for the rewards program prior to the service. That is inaccurate. Don't waste your time with this program. Blue Cross Blue Shield does not honor it. You will get nothing for your time other than frustration that they do not honor a program that is supposed to generate goodwill for their subscribers and encourage healthy behaviors.Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Michigan

I have been with bobs Michigan for over 15 years. Never had any issues for ***** years but the last 4 have been very frustrating. I have the Blue Cross Legacy **************** had to pay for anything until lately. Every time I go to a doctor we (my husband has the same plan) get a $20-30+ charge. When I call your customer service Im told its because its in excess or its because I have a deductible which I dont or because I go out of state for my doctors and they charge a 15% charge which is wrong because it is stated that BCBS MICHIGAN covers all states.When I talk to a customer service person and Ive talked to many they have all been very nice, they either call the billing department and get it under review or they do it on their end. They tell me it takes AWHILE to get resolved. In the mean time Im still getting bills and no real reason why. There must be a reason but I keep getting different ones. Im tired of having to call every time me or my husband go to the doctor. Is there someone there that knows the answer and make this end once and for all? BCBS is awful! Have talked to two people on two different days in the health and dental. When trying to see if a dr accepted my plan I was put on hold while ******* called the Dr to ask them! Really? Shouldn't you have that info? Another rep told me that BCBS had no dr's that were d.o's affiliated with McLaren. Also wrong! When looking for a periodontist I was given the name of who is in another state and another one who is deceased. Called again and asked to be sent a list of periodontists everyone on the list either doesn't take my insurance or is out of business! Such a waste of time and energy! BCBS clearly has some major training issues!Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Michigan

You should be ashamed of yourself as a provider, you are purposefully making if confusing and difficult for members to receive their rightful benefits its called obfuscation and its illegal. Your representatives are rude, unhelpful and purposely bending the truth/out right lying to ensure we do not receive proper coverage. This has happened to me, my wife and my newborn with various procedures basic healthcare treatment that we thought were covered, and then were all of the sudden NOT covered due to the wrong codes, or basic clerical error on YOUR PART. You are scamming the American population.Your representatives also lie about being able to conference call my benefits center with me on the line, they simply call into the benefits center and HANG UP THE *****Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Michigan

Switched to BCBS end of last year. Have always used CVS for scripts , even had many filled after switching. My husband s a diabetic and of course go to fill his scripts this month and they tell me they can only be filled at *********** Not one person from BCBS notified me of this. When I called about it I was told oops sorry. Mind you hes completely out of meds. Since we were waiting on auto fill at CVS that was never gonna happen. Never had an insurance that you couldnt use just any pharmacy besides Cvs is on just about every corner ********* your lucky if theres one in every city. I feel I should have been informed. Now Im nervous if doctors office messes up on a bill and I have to resubmit it pretty sure BCBS is not gonna be easy or helpful like HAP has been in the past.Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Michigan

One of my providers has been dealing with a situation since 2020. I no longer am covered with BCBS OF MICHIGAN, thank God. But, they approved the procedure, then denied payment. Now to be able to talk with someone is very difficult. The excuse given to me yesterday was that they have only one person who can deal with the previous computer system and I have to wait 24 to 48 hours for a phone call. REALLY!!!!! I have to wait by the phone for up to 2 days for them to call me. It's over 24 hours, I guess I'm running out of time.Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Michigan

They screwed me over selecting my PCP. I received an email from them saying that the doctor I selected as my PCP was in network in *******. Then, in March, after open enrollment was closed.. I received a letter saying that my PCP was not in network and then they assigned me a new PCP. Never any help on the phone or website.Cant wait for ******* so I can get a different insurance company.Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Michigan
