    Canceled my policy due to outrageous rate increases year after year. +30 year customer with 2 claims. The agent didn't cancel my account as they should have and Hastings charged me a $15 late fee. Not worth my time to fight it. Terrible company and my only regret is not ditching them sooner.

    I have Hastings insurance and the customer service is the worst I’ve ever seen.My wife got hit and they treated us like *** .It was like we were the bad guys . All we wanted was to get our car fixed . They don’t want to help at all . I will be changing insurance next month !!!!! Do NOT USE Hastings !!!!!!

    If I could leave less than a 0 I definitely would! Absolutely disgusting how this business treats its customers, raises rates without even a phone call , letter, email absolutely nothing!!! Don't you dare try and make a claim with your OWN money you line their pockets with either they'll come up with every BS excuse in the book not to let you use your own money !!! Oh no you live by trees you can't be accepted for a roof claim you live by trees and they put **** on your roof .... DUH !!!!!!! Did you want us to climb on a 2 story house and sweep our roofs daily for you??? No this company is just another greedy get rich off your money business!!!!!!!!

    I have 3 vehicles full coverage, 1 liability, 1 utv full, 1 toyhauler full, house and big balloon coverage for land. $544 per month. Wife hit a deer and car was totalled. Very lowball offer. Not even enough to cover loan on it. Adjuster tells us to find cars same year, mileage, model, with vin # and location they can possibly raise amount. Found 6 in a matter of minutes within 45 min of our location. Ranged 7000-13000. Doesn't matter they are only going to pay 4800. Shitty company with piss poor adjusters.

    Absolute GARBAGE company!! DO NOT TRUST THEM. I initiated a policy with Hastings Mutual through an insurance broker, and initially, everything seemed smooth. However, when I had to change banks due to a new job (I work in the financial world and can't have bank accounts with competitors), things took a turn for the worse. During this transition, I forgot to update my auto withdrawals. One would expect that if a bill isn't paid, the company would communicate this promptly. However, Hastings Mutual seems to reside in the Stone Age, relying on mail as their primary form of communication, which is arguably the most unreliable. To make matters worse, they inundate you with so much garbage mail that it's impossible to discern what's important When I finally noticed that payments weren't being made (three months later), I reached out to my broker to ensure my policy wouldn't be canceled and promptly made the payment. But the ordeal didn't end there. When I provided my banking information to my broker for auto withdrawal, I was shocked to find out that the amount I was charged was significantly higher than what I was quoted. After investigating, I discovered that my policy had been increased 3x because Hastings Mutual required a specific document showing that my health insurance would be primary in an auto accident. Why they didn't communicate this earlier when my policy increased so dramatically is beyond me Despite having the same health insurance policy for years, Hastings Mutual refused to backdate the increase, leaving me no choice but to accept the premium. Fast forward a month, and I received a letter from Hastings informing me that they were canceling my policy due to a failed auto withdrawal. After all the back and forth I was happy to switch insurance companies.But the nightmare didn't end there. Three months later, I received a collection notice stating that I hadn't paid for four months

    After 20 years of being a loyal customer for auto, home and umbrella policies for our family of 5, Hastings has informed us that they will no longer renew our policy given a few minor accidents by our minor children. Types of things that could happen to anyone. What terrible customer service. Not even an option to increase premiums until able to prove that they really are good drivers (which they are). Never had a policy claim the entire 20 years yet two in one year from minor drivers causes cancellation. Seems unacceptable - like they just want to steal premiums and push you out once you actually need their help! Very disappointed in a company that claims to be working for you and that customers matter. I wish I had contact information for their board members so they could get an idea of what is happening on the ground.

    This insurance company is telling me that if I still want a rental vehicle, I will have to pay for it out of my pocket. Reason being, the shop has my vehicle too long. My car was hit by someone they're insuring. My car was parked, I wasn't in it, I was inside my place of employment working. None of this was any of my fault. They need to to pay for my rental until my vehicle is repaired to my satisfaction. When I went to work, I was whole.

    DID YOU KNOW THAT HASTINGS DOES NOT GIVE A HOMEOWNER 365 DAYS TO REPORT A CLAIM LIKE OTHER INSURANCE COMPANIES DO? THEY ONLY GIVE YOU 270 DAYS TO REPORT A CLAIM. THATS 95 DAYS LESS COVERAGE TIME TO REPORT HAIL! BUT THEN THEY SAY YOU DIDNT READ THE FINE PRINT ON THE CONTRACT. BUYER BEWARE! Have had a claim out with Hastings mutual for 2 years from a HAILSTORM. LOOKS LIKE MORE COMPLAINTTHAN JUST MINE! All of my neighbors were covered but I was the UNLUCKY one to have Hastings Mutual and be denied coverage; due to the "claim being out of date" , was one of their answers; as well as the other answers" .75 hail in my experience ; is normally not enough to do damage " MY reply was Have heard more than once comments from neighbors theyre so greatfull they dont have Hastings Mutual and HASTINGS IS KNOWN FOR NOT PAYING OUT! Ive been with them since 2014 when I came from out of state; and never made a claim till this. When I took it to the **** of Insurance ; they suggested that I refile under another later hailstorm date that my other house was covered under a different insurance called AUTO OWNERS; who not only paid right away; but they provided the date of loss and the later date which I filed the 2nd claim under with Hastings under . Ironically my letter from the **** of Insurance appeared to me to say that Hastings suggested I refile it under that later date Auto Owners used to pay out my house 3 doors down hail claim....and I do so. WHAT A JOKE... turned down again saying it was OLD hail damage . Original adjuster said it needed $27,000.00 worth of damage to be fixed. My contractor confirmed the same while with him. Somehow it was changed to $1200.00 or some worthless amount. SO FIGURE IT OUT FOR YOURSELF AND DONT BE A VICTIM . DON"T DO LIKE I DID N PAY 10 YEARS OF PREMIUMS TO HASTINGS N NOT GET COVERAGE!

    I just found out that they had a extra driver on my account since 2/22 to date. I requested a refund for the difference and they denied it. I am single, never had a extra driver on my account, but because of the new address which had several drivers on the former owner account they rolled it into my account. This is wrong.
