1 starSVS Vision in Lansing, MI made two errors on my glasses--wrong type of lens and they were off on the eye/pupil measurement significantly which meant they needed to redo the glasses completely. If done correctly the first time I would have incurred an additional $50 fee for the upgraded lens (the one I wanted) but lens prices went up since my initial visit and I was expected to pay $140 instead. I was not given any other solutions than to pay and "I'm sorry but we cannot control the price." I asked for a refund and for the manager to call me for feedback. The manager laughed about my experience, was disingenuous and said there could have been a correction, but it was noted by staff that I refused--not true, I had spent so much time and money on this already a solution would have been a relief. My biggest issue is SVS Vision believing it ok to profit off their error!Review fromHeather V

1 starWell do NOT use SVS vision I've had my glasses for 5 months they've been scratched for at least 2 months and they will not do anything but give me 70/30 where I still have to pay 30% of progressive lenses which is still $150 I have never went anywhere where they would not replace the lenses when they're not very old never again and no do not shop there.Review fromPhilip H

1 starNo accountability to work with the customer. You obviously can't drive without glasses! I was told all i needed was to show up and they would fix my glasses. When i showed up they said they would have to send them out due to the cheep frame being broken. Which again i wasn't told would happen before spending ****** round trip. I asked if they had another frame therefore I could drive and see distance. They just repeating the glasses wou have to be sent out. I asked if they had frames in stock to match my existing frames. She then threw my glasses on the counter and the lens fell to the floor. I then understandablely became upset. I turned around to then tell the customers in the store warning them about the customer service and the betrayal to the customer. They then said they was calling the police and in that order to leave the building. As soon as a person with crutches could reach to the floor to get my property i walked out.Review fromKineta S.

1 starThis was another unfortunate attempt to utilize this business. At a different SVS location my name was used to purchase glasses that I never ordered, or showed to pick up. I went without glasses for sometime and was told by the company that I came in and picked up glasses. They billed my insurance. In another location. They reserve weak and less desirable glasses for those that are less fortunate. These glasses usually break or pop while you are wearing them and need immediate repair. ( Within two weeks or two months) I watched a pair just pop loose as my child was walking past. He was not missing with them, playing, with them. He was not touching them. As he walked past I happened to just see them pop loose. This is a very common problem. This SVS at this East Beltline location did not complete our order as they should have. We received the glasses that Ive been avoiding my entire life (as I cannot see clearly to pick the frame and asked continuously for the SVS agent to help) and was not told of sales or promotions that could benefit our family. I had to ask many questions on my own. We then left without pertinent information and had to wait weeks to receive our glasses. It was very difficult to return to the location which I shared with the staff. My son returned to retrieve the glasses with an adult friend. Once we received them there was no bifocals in the lenses even though I sat to be measured. They said they're ordered it as single vision. Though I sat before them in my old glasses with the bifocals on them while they looked at me. My son's glasses broke about two weeks later, one piece just popped and his lenses fell out. We called SVS for assistance and was not told any one thing. they showed a sincere lack of professionalism. We were told that we could come in even though I was working with them and it was excessively hard to get to that location. They said the process took too long and left us with no usable glasses and our insurance has been billed.Review fromEmanuel C

1 starIf I could give this place zero stars, I would. TWICE I had appointments scheduled over the phone. The last one was today 6/3/24 at 5:30 PM. The Wednesday prior, I had received a text asking to confirm, which I immediately did. Yesterday, I got a text saying that they looked forward to seeing me and to call if I had to cancel. Got to the office 20 minutes early today. THERE WAS NO DOCTOR THERE!!!! This also happened the last time!!!! Get your act together! WHAT A WASTE OF MY TIME. I need new glasses and will go somewhere else. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. This is the ********, **** location.Review fromJoyce P

2 starsFor years I've been getting glasses from SVS. The last 6 years or so I've noticed that my lenses get scratched very easily. I'm in my 70's and are very careful with my glasses, and I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. I would pay extra and have my lenses replaced. I even questioned SVS to double check if I have the scratch resistant, which I did. They even told me I don't clean appropriately. So I finally went to another optical center and they informed me that all scratch resistant coatings are not the same. The coating they use at SVS vision is a lower grade. I now have a better grade coating & have had not scratches for a year. Hope this helps some people.Review fromGlenn C

BUYERS BEWARE: I've done business w/ SVS* for about 5-7 years. I usually purchase 2 sets of glasses (1 @ 50% off) via VSP Vision insurance. On a few occassions I had a pair of ****** ***** and Chromehearts fitted w ** lenses. I signed a waiver and the lab completed the requests. Then, prior to the most recent incident- I purchased frames and lenses via VSP, and also purchsed WileyX Boss Frames- "for future use with my next (or new) **" to avoid next year's mark-up. My ** history shows frequent changes. My latest visit to SVS Vision*, at *****************************************************************************: To avoid forfeiting my VSP Choice benefits, on 12/30/2023, I pick a new frame/lense combo, and request my WileyX Boss frame be used with the 50% Lense promo- Order *******. When alerted to the policy change by ******, I re-empathized that the previous salesperson was aware of my intention when the WileyX Boss frame was purchased @ $118, or so. As requested by ******, I signed the waiver. Then the following Saturday I received a phone call from the local office- "the Boss portion of the order would not be filled because they weren't purchased with the other glasses on 12/30/2023". Again, I explained the Boss Frames were purchased from this SVS location- and confirmed. SVS has up to this date refused to fill the ** (for some lame excuse about safety frames integrity/lenses) or to refund my frame purchase of $118. I requested this be elevated to the ***************** Coordinator. This practice is unethical and should be prosecuted for theft. It's bait and switch tactics- they didn't say I would be able to fill a ** for the Boss in the **********'s appears greed has tainted SVS's lab/and officers. BUYERS BEWARE. Lens refund Transaction No.#********.SVS Vision Optical Centers

To Whom It May ********** 03/30/2022 ****************** purchased a frame only from SVS Vision at our ********** location. He brought the frame back in on 12/30/2024 to have lenses only put into the frame. The frame he purchased from us is a Safety frame ************** and has to have safety lenses. Unfortunately, in July of 2022 our safety for patients own frame policy has changed. To ensure SVS is offering the best protection with safety eyewear, SVS will not put new lenses in a Safety frame outside warranty replacements, because the frame's integrity is unable to be determined, and we are unable to order lenses for the frame. As a onetime courtesy SVS Vision agreed to give the same exact frame (brand new) to the ****************** at no charge so that we can order him a complete pair of glasses. I did reach out to the ****************** and he has excepted our onetime offer. ****************** is aware that we will not be able to replace the lenses for this frame in the future and that the frame will not have a warranty.Thank you.Review fromBrent M

Altered the patient rights/privacy forms to say patient can refuse release but they don't have to listen to you.I marked off areas I did not consent to, data processing, releasing to law enforcement, and contacting family members. They then refused to treat me because I crossed off release's I did not consent to. Outrageous!!!SVS Vision Optical Centers
