      I just purchased a motorhome from general rv. And originally signed a purchase agreement with gap insurance for $1500 Everything was good until they told us we didn’t need the gap insurance. Which we thought was great. Less monthly payments. Went back the next day to sign the revised purchase agreement. Then a month later received my first monthly statement from the bank and lo and behold the extra 1500 gap insurance was funded into the loan. So I sent an email to my finance person at Dover fl. Sof to find out what happened. And of course he couldn’t figure out what happened and how the old purchase agreement got funded. So he told me to wait 60 to 90 days until the loan is funded and general rv will refund my money back. So now it’s been over 100 days and still no refund. Countless emails to general rv trying to find out when my refund will be received. I’ve called the gap insurance company and they have no policy in my name. Now general rv has blocked my emails. Trying to find out where my refund is. My finance individual “Sof”at general is useless in helping resolve this. Also faraon at Huntley can not help who originally assisted in funding this loan Unbelievable customer service. Do not deal with these people. Total scammers and incompetent individuals

      What a horrible place to do business. They are price gougers. Hidden costs to the buyer. They sneak in a $3500 prep fee, basically to detail and fill the unit with gas. Such BS. I found this out from the 1st Motorhome I looked at. It had other problems that were not addressed when I went back to look at it. Those issues were supposed to be covered by the $3500 I already paid for. So we backed out on that one. Found another **. They already had my prep fee so kind stuck buying there. The next one I made a deal on they added another $3875 for another prep fee!!! So $7375 in prep fees!!! The tires and batteries were original on a 2018, so these parts are no good. They told me flat out they would not change tires and batteries on their dime!! So roughy $2500 out of $7375 to make the unit safe and properly operational. So they are getting $4875 above sell price!!! Oh they will put a tank of gas and clean it though! Im done with these scam artists, my bad for them getting $3500 for free! Shame on me! Im going elsewhere. Pretty sad to rip people off. BYE!!

      he worst, kind of like a high pressure gimmick snake oil sales team. You will be told the RV you looked at has a buyer on his way give me $5,000 and will hold it for you just don't tell anyone. Did I forget to mention it's non-refundable.. I could write a book. And after you buy an RV trust me you are in the way they don't want you there. If you have a problem with your RV just as a question it's $250 per hour. During the hours of sales pictures I just couldn't believe they could run a company like this. I'm not sure how it all adds up but after you agree upon a price it looks like an extra $20,000 thrown on top of it. They have many extra special fees to milk you with.

      Beware our travel trailer of 90 days has a rotten floor and hole under the slide. They boasted they inspect them. If this is true guess it proves they tried to cover the situation before selling it to us. ******!

      So far General RV has a 5 in my book....if you have shopped other RV companies they cannot compare! From the Sales by **** to the walkthrough and purchase, I was treated with respect. Being a single woman is a difficult task, and I have telephone numbers for EVERYONE there who helped me. I have already reached out. Yes, I bought a new Forest RIver; however, remeber that every pre-owned product that you consider is going to have issues! Please be fair in your reviews and not so self-centered! Camping has issues, but so does life!

      BUYER BEWARE. I can never buy from or recommend anyone to shop the General RV in Dover, Florida. They promise excellent service and support but fall short after the paperwork is signed. Operations Assistant Manager rarely returns calls or responds to issue or hands off to someone who doesn't follow up. Presales inspections completely missed by team and management. Contacting anyone hindered by receptionist taking message and emailing contact. Returned calls are rare. Contacts commit to response with 48 hours, shows lack of urgency. Furniture ordered ended up with wrong color. Service department stocks very little inventory parts. Service techs quality, poor, damage other parts, always leave a mess. Service department and manufactures approvals not on same page, causing lengthy delays in getting parts for repairs. 90 days to find any warranty defects to be covered under warranty but we are 10 months into the purchase and still finding quality issues. We have an issue with the heating ducts of the unit not pushing heat to the bathroom duct. They have made 2 changes to the heating duct configuration and still you get cold air into the bath room while you get heat to all the other ducts. The manufacture says its working as design but why would a heater put out heat to only 3 of the 4 heating ducks. There are a multitude of opportunities for improvements in processes at the General RV in Dover, FL. 7 trips to the general for service and we still have unresolved issues. For an event that is supposed to make you happy, buying the RV has been a nightmare.

      I was going to purchase at a rv show in *********, I found the one I wanted to purchase, so the sales tactics started then, first offer was my trade plus $20000 cash plus $650 a month for 20 yrs, I said no, then they returned with $610 a month then $523 a month, l said no more than $450 a month. Sales manager asked me if I put you in that camper for $450 a month today you will buy, I said yes, he shook my hand and sent me to finance, the run my credit, and he quoted me &499 a month, I said did you guys not hear me, finance manager said he was quite sure he could get to my terms but it would take a little while, so he put together a purchase agreement and asked for a $5000 partial non refundable down payment but he put in writing it was contingent to a monthly installment of $450 or under. He and I both signed it. My wife and I left the show without knowing if we had purchased a camper or if they would be able to meet our terms, that afternoon my wife, who is not on this contract received a call from the finance manager and he said he could do $453 a month, when my wife told me I was not sure what to think, this was the 5th number I was given and not one met my terms. I thought about it over the weekend and on Monday the 17th I called the dealership and said you did not meet my terms I will not be buying the camper and expected my credit card to be refunded, I told a receptionist, a salesman and a sales manager, sales manager would not take no for an answer, he then told me I would lose my $5000 because it is non refundable, I told him that was contingent to my terms which you did not meet. He told me to sleep on it, he called the following day and I told him I expected my money back and he got the bank to meet my terms of $449 a month, how convenient. The problem is at the beginning of this contract was if I meet you term TODAY will you buy this camper, today was the 13th of March not the 17th of March

      Im disappointed with everything I experienced with this company after purchase. Communication & customer service is not a top priority, or even a priority for this company. I would never recommend a purchase or service at this facility. Top management didn't seem to be bothered by the lack of communication or service the company provided to us & continued to make excuses for it. Even leaving one star feels like more than what this company deserves.

      This is my first review of a company, I always give a second chance, but in this case I had to post this review. I took my motorhome to General RV in ********************* for a problem with my AC, it was randomly coming on and off, it would work fine and then all of the sudden it would shut off and come right back on and off and on again. I was told by the service adviser that they WOULD NOT be able to fix it if they couldnt replicate the problem. They ran the unit all day and it ran fine, they called me to let me know they couldnt fix it because it was working great. A few days later they called back and told me WE HAVE FOUND THE PROBLEM WITH YOUR AC, we have ordered the part and just need your approval to repair, I was very happy to get it fixed so i gave my approval. After picking up the *** the very next day the problem was still there, keep in mind they NEVER was able to replicate the problem as I was told but assured me this was the fix. I called them and there response was, you approved the repair so we will not refund your $560. They told me to bring it back but would not be able to fix it if they couldnt replicate. A week later I had a mobile RV tech fix the problem in 20 minutes, it was a faulty freeze sensor. I told them this and their response was, to bad we or not refunding your money because you approved the repair. Just my opinion but I will never go back to a business that takes this position and I HIGHLY recommend no one else take there RV to this business.Still no response from upper management from this absolutely horrible company, in my opinion this company ripped me off for $560 for a repair that fixed nothing, the sad part is they dont care, there only response, we are sorry it didnt work but but we have decided to keep your money anyway. Great job Mr. ***** and Mr. ******* youre running a top notch organization. NOT

      We are sorry to hear the customer was unhappy with the service provided by our service center. As discussed with this customer previously, we were unable to duplicate the intermittent issues on an AC unit installed by another company. Upon inspection, we found a gasket was missing. We informed the customer that we couldn't replicate the issue, but found that the gasket was missing. He approved and authorized us to install the gasket. We installed the gasket as approved which is why the decision has been made to not refund the money paid as we were never able to replicate the issue.

      Everything to do with my new rv purchase was c*** Less than 24 hours before picking up my ** they hadn't taken my credit card deposit. I was paying cash so the finance *** said bring a check for the full amount in case we can't get it done and we'll see just refund your credit card if we do get it done. REALLY! Hopped in my truck and drove home only to realize they never installed my weight distribution bars, left water in all the tanks and didn't turn off the gas. Found multiple issues with the ** and brought it in for service. After 11 days no pictures had been sent to grand design to get approval for the repairs. If you call the office in ************ you are immediately transferred to a phone no one picks up. In Ocala you are transferred to voicemail. I talked with 2 sales managers. Both were supposed to call me back. Neither did. If general ** corporate had any sense they would fire their useless managers and try to improve their customer satisfaction. I truly believe once the ** leaves the lot they want nothing to do with you. They make you sign a paper that says they are not responsible for any warranty items; that has to be through the manufacturer. Oh and their labor rate is somewhere between $225 and $259 per hour.
