    I saw their ad in Smithsonion magazine, and thought it was an attractive watch for a low price. Unfortunately, after a couple of months it stopped keeping time and I called them about repairing or replacing it under warranty - but no deal, my 30 days were up. I guess you get what you pay for :(

    It is all junk and a scam. I got talked into a platinum membership to save on shipping which by the way they are making money on ( pretty sure that's illegal ). Then when I informed them I did not want to be auto billed for another year they cancelled me even though my year was not over so no more taking advantage of their $50.00 off coupons. DO NOT GET INVOLVED WITH STAUER.

    We are sorry to hear that you didn't find a benefit in the membership program. The yearly membership is a value to our customers as it provides many discounts. We did see you were able to use some of those benefits and happy that it did work for some of the orders. The yearly renewal is optional and can repurchase the membership at any time.     I returned a very small item. A pendant cross. The shipping was $20.95, and I used their prepaid shipping label to send it back. The returned amount was $12.50 to be deducted from my refund. Not only did they deduct the original shipping amount, but the $12.50. also. Do not do business with these people!

    We are sorry, to hear about your concern of the fees and did a onetime concession for you and refunded the $12.50 back to your card. At Stauer, we do keep our shipping handling and fees separated. To be transparent to the consumer and not hide fees within the cost of the product. The policy is on the invoices and the website.

    I was intrigued by this retro watch, and caught it at a very good price. I am impressed with the quality and look; it was easy to follow the instructions for setting to current time. The band is stiff, but expected with leather that has sat flat in the box. What a unique look, already received positive comments.
    Just bought the Dashtronic watch from Stauer this week - can't wait.
    Buying these as an investment for my son.

    This company sells cheap jewelry and extremely low-quality watches that they advertise as something worth far more than they actually are. My husband purchased a watch from them months ago through FaceBook. After that first purchase, he began receiving high-pressure phone calls from them to buy more. A couple of times I overheard my husband talking to them, starting the conversation with "I have too many watches, and I've decided not to buy any for a while". By the end of the conversation, the sales rep talked him into yet another watch, since it was "on sale" and they were giving a "special added discount". After my husband had a stroke, he became highly suggestable, with low impulse control. These people took advantage of that. By the time he passed away, he had purchased 23 watches, 3 of which were identical in every respect. To make matters worse, they called him the day after he passed away. I was too emotional to give them a piece of my mind, so I just informed them that he had passed away and asked them not to call again. That was two weeks ago, and they continue to call daily. I just ignore them to avoid raising my blood pressure. As far as I'm concerned, they are despicable people who take advantage of the vulnerable.

    I love my staur retro 20 design watch,it looks great firs great even though I have small hands and wrist it fits perfect .I have never been happier with buying a watch before today.

    It has always been my experience that when an item fails under warranty it will be repaired or exchanged at no charge. An RMA is provided along with a prepaid label to return the item. But not Stauer.
    I purchased a watch in May of this year and within four months a hand fell off. Since it was under warranty I, erroneously, thought that Stauer would follow the above return procedure. I was shocked and angered that I had to pay a fee based on the cost of the watch, state taxes and return it via FedEx or UPS insured for its value for the warranty to be honored. In the end I spent $60 to return it. Incidentally, CA only taxes for parts - not labor or "shipping and handling." Nonetheless Stauer required that I pay taxes.
    There is absolutely no excuse - none - for charging a customer to repair or replace a defective item under warranty. Warranties are to make a customer whole. Compounding a loss is not making someone whole. If my car had a problem covered under warranty a dealer would not charge me to rectify the problem.
    This experience has left a bad taste in my mouth and, consequently, I will not be renewing my membership and continuing to buy from Stauer.

    I have been using the retrograde watch for a few weeks now and I love it. The movement is just fascinating, and the watch itself is beautifully made. I don’t normally wear a watch on a daily basis but I find myself wearing this one constantly.

    I have ordered a couple items from Stauer and have been somewhat satisfied, even though I did not feel they were of high quality. Recently, I ordered a man's ring and a specific-style sunglasses. The ring looked like it was made for a trinket machine and not worth even half the money I spent on it even with the applied discount. The sunglasses received were not even the same ones that I ordered from the catalog.
    I returned both items, but was quite dismayed to learn that the "refund" being sent did not include the shipping and handling. I do not feel that the customer should eat that amount since the ring sent was of inferior quality, and the the sunglasses were entirely different than what was ordered. Both return reasons were not the fault of the customer - they were the fault of Stauer. Therefore, the $29.95 shipping and handling should have also been refunded.
    Hopefully, I will receive a check for $29.95 in the mail to make this right.

    I was amazed at how easy it was to order, and how quickly it came! My husband loves the quality of the watch, and it definitely gets noticed! He has fun showing it off to his friends. It came with instructions that were easy to follow.
