      I received a letter for a one-week sale. The special was an enclosed $100 coupon which could be applied to any purchase over $799. PLUS, for any purchase over $499, they will PAY SALES TAX and give you free shipping. You can combine all three of these 'unprecedented' offers with any purchase of $799.
      I went in to the Wausau location to purchase the patio set I had my eyes on and was told the sales tax discount was already calculated into the sale price of the furniture. No where on the letter I received did it mention that, nor on their website. It would seem, based on their wording of the letter, the sales tax would not be calculated and added onto the selling price (the store would then back sales taxes off of the revenue when they file their sales tax report, which many companies do).
      I have previously purchased several items from them, but likely no more. In my opinion, this was very deceptive advertising. I did, however, give them two stars ONLY because of my satisfaction with them during my previous purchases.

      Bought a $1500 king mattress set that is defective. The mattress became lumpy before first year. Technician took photos and apparently the tag, the tag that states it’s against the law to remove was removed and by doing this the mattress warranty was voided!!!!
      HOM refuses to support a return or exchange as a result, are you kidding?

      Dear customer, we are sorry to hear you are frustrated with your recent experience. We have reviewed your service order and the body impression measurements the technician took were sent to the manufacturer who said they were with in normal use and therefore not deemed defective. Body impressions are very normal in mattresses as a mattress will conform slightly over time to your body, thus causing body impressions. Body impressions over a manufacturer specified amount are then deemed defective. At present the body impressions on your mattress are within normal range. Thank you for your understanding.

      We bought a sectional couch from Hom Furniture. Serene corner sectional. At only 9 months it began pilling - all the cushions.
      This couch was not inexpensive.
      Service came out and said this was normal. I should just shave the fabric (like it’s a cheap sweater from Target)
      Not covered by warranty. Treated me like I was stupid.
      Took a bunch of pictures while he was at my home of the couch. I asked him what he was doing since he considered this “normal”. He didn’t have a good answer. Don’t ever buy from Hom Furniture they do NOT stand behind the products they sell.

Pilling is caused by extra fibers coming to the surface on fabric. This can happen with low and high quality fabrics.       Last year we purchased coffee table and had to return it X3 due to defect and the defect was seen by delivery staff themselves. Roughly a week ago we received a children dresser that was defective yet again. After going through all the hassle to take off from work again for new delivery date, the children dresser arrives defective. Yet again the bottom right drawer does not close properly like the other drawers especially considering it’s a children dresser. This was pointed to me by the delivery staff after they inspected it in the truck themselves to make sure everything looks good this time. My wife is due any minute now and we are tired and did not want to go through any more hassle and accepted it like it is. We are very very disappointed with hom furniture merchandise. Never shopping there again. The staff and delivery people were awesome but the product quality upon delivery very very poor.

      In summary, Hom Furniture Inc. made many “mistakes,” gave us misinformation, has a 40% material cancellation statement connected to a projected final invoice that should have been reduced significantly. This happened because major work was included in their Primary Estimate, of a new plywood floor to connect two rooms with the same LVT which wasn’t necessary according to their own installer who visited our home to check out what was needed prior to starting the job and told us a reduction between $***-$**** would happen. And when we asked them to make the changes to the cost suggested by their own employee they wouldn’t! Along with those issues a payment of $**** we made wasn’t included in their projected final invoice of what was owed to them!
      Further details: They have a two-step process to determine the cost in which I had to sign the (1st step) Permission to Proceed document, indicating I would have to pay a 40% cancellation penalty on materials if I cancelled the order after signing that document. Instead of the estimated $***-$**** reduction change after the (2nd step) installer came, they offered $370. The reason cited was that the salesman made a mistake in writing down the given square footage of materials needed, although both documents show the same square footage.
      I did get out of the agreement after indicating I would sue. Understand, that I never agreed to the projected final invoice amount while evidently Hom Furniture, considered the higher cost Preliminary Estimate a final contract in my case and indicated there was a penalty clause for cancelling. Although they would not decrease my cost, logic dictates that they could have increased it as much as they want to, perhaps by thousands and I could be stuck with having to pay that amount or pay the previously noted cancellation amount.
      After hiring another firm the amount charged for connecting two rooms appropriately was about $*** which was close to what their own installer said it should be.

      Wish we would have bought somewhere else. **************** is horrible at the **** Rapids Home store. We ordered patio furniture in March for a family party on the fourth of July. The wedge cushion was on back order but was told it would be in by June. Needless to say it didn't come in in June, July or August. So we had incomplete furniture for both summer holidays. By the last day in September we finally got an email stating our cushions were available. **** down to pick them up so husband can take to the cabin to put away for the season. Well he drives 100 miles to cabin only to find out they gave us the WRONG cushions. I have spent a week trying to get the right cushions. Evidently the only person that can read the invoice is the original sales person. What a joke. This should have been taken care of the first day I called, not 5 days later and still waiting for a resolution. So, now not only do we have to make another trip to pick up the right cushions when they can finally find them. My husband will have to make another 200 mile round trip to store the cushions for the winter. When a customer service person is called and they say they will call you back, they should follow thru to let you know what's happening. Communication is terrible at this facility. I would advise people to seriously think before buying from Hom Store.
