Awful customer service. Called to let Spire know we would be out of the country so our withdrawals would not get flagged. The questions asked were improperly stated, and they denied our request to release using our cards. We have been Spire costumers for 20+ years and could not resolve this issue thru phone customer service. We talked to two representatives and we’re denied.
We were forced to go to the bank in- person for what should have been a very easy transaction, as it was only a notification on our part that we would be in Europe. The representatives were extremely unhelpful and robotic in their responses. So disappointed and frustrated with Spire. Especially since they advertise as such a “hometown” friendly bank. Boo!!

SPIRE Credit Union reached out to the member directly to discuss her experience. We apologized for the unnecessary frustration caused by how the call was handled. We will use the information gathered when reviewing our procedures in an effort to ensure another member does not have the same experience.

Me and my wife got a loan from this credit union back in 2018 for roughly $25,000.00 with out a doubt no problem . We paid off our loan and tried for a new one for actually the same amount and got denied cause they told us they made a mistake on the first one and we should of not got the the loan on account our credit showed a loan on a vehicle not satisfied in which we have proof that it is . The Maple Grove Mn woman treated us like crap and so did the manager that never came and explained what was going on . We went to our other credit union next day and got the loan with no problems ! What I see is prejidence ! On account of our address , coming off of when the woman from the bank treated us when our address came up ? This credit union is a bunch of bull with all there commercials on channel 9 in Minneapolis , Saint Paul .

I currently have a car loan through them. I have full coverage on my car currently and they decided to purchase a policy. And charge my extra 300.00 dollars for that policy they purchased. I've sent them copies of my insurance card and I've had my insurance agent call them and prove that I have full coverage on my vehicle. I've payed my loan on time but I refuse to pay for the car insurance and they have threatened to put this on my credit report as a late payment. I've never had a loan company do this. I regret using this bank Spire credit union. Please do not use Spire Credit Union for any type of loans or banking. Biggest mistake of my life.

I recently deposited a check into my spire account and it cleared the account it was drawn against but they are holding the funds until the end of the month. Even after being notified the check cleared, they are still holding the funds for over a week. How is this legal??

SPIRE Credit Union follows Regulation CC (12 CFR Part 229). Regulation CC sets forth the requirements that credit unions make funds deposited into transaction accounts available according to specified time schedules and that they disclose their funds availability policies to their members. A review of your transaction shows that the item deposited was classified as a large deposit so the large deposit hold rules were applied. Under the large deposit rule, a portion of the check deposit is made available immediately, an additional portion is made available within two business days, while the rest of the funds will be available no later than the seventh business day after the day of your deposit. Details regarding the hold release date & amount are listed on the transaction receipt provided to you at the time of deposit. Certain types of deposit items are not subject to hold consideration under the regulation. In the future, if you are informed that an item you would like to deposit will have a hold placed on it, please inquire as to other options available to you that would not be subject to a hold.

My wife and I both applied for new accounts with both of us being offer a $ ****** in each of our accounts and a $50.00 gas card each. My wife did get both of hers but two weeks later I am still waiting for mine with no reason why I have not gotten it yet!!! We only want to understand what the wait is. We followed thru with what the company wanted and now we have no reason why we are not getting our share of the deal!!! There's no way this delay should be taken place. We are still waiting for my monies and gas card as of 11/15/2022. We are only asking for fair treatment. We hope people learn these big companies don't care about when you get what yours but when it comes to getting what they want you will pay big penalties. Life is not fair. Customer be where,
