  This salesman was the most disingenuous and disrespectful of all the people who provided estimates. I did not appreciate the games he played. Shared information about how terrible other companies were and why we should not use them. Three separate times he made comments about how women say they don’t have an opinion but they do, and they will just complain later. He mocked us for not wanting to make a split decision and "suddenly remembered" he overheard his boss talking about a promotion that would give us a discount as long as we decided at that moment. Unless you want to make a split second decision, it seems they do not want your business. Very disappointed in the lack of professionalism and complete disrespect.

  After posting my complaint I received a phone call apologizing for the behavior of the sales person. The caller asked questions, provided input, and apologized. He let me know that the image and attitude displayed by their sales person is not who they are as a company. I appreciate the time and energy being put into responding to a concern. The person let me know that they will learn from this experience and want to continue to improve.

  RUN! I chose Builders & Remodels because I wanted a no hassle front entry door install. My home was built in 1911 and have an irregular door size. I wanted to go with a reputable company who would professionally install my door for maximum energy efficiency. It has been a total nightmare. They have been out to my house five times. When installing the trim on the outside of the door facing my porch they ran out of caulk. The installer presented the issue like it was my problem to solve. So I suggested he finish with the caulk I had on hand which was not the right caulk for outside facing trim. It immediately began peeling. They also installed the threshold over a large hole in my floor. I discovered this by noticing the smaller hole on the side of threshold where it wasn't long enough. After further inspection the entire bottom of the threshold installed was over a large hole. When emailing the Customer Service Coordinator on 11/30/23 asking her to send someone out she told me caulk it up myself. I paid over $6K for a new front entry door and a professional installation. I demanded she sent someone out. So a manager was sent on 1/26/24 and he wrote up ANOTHER work order. I love the style of the door. I don't love Builders & Remodelers. I would never use them again or recommend to anyone. Especially those new homeowners who trust a company that's been in business over 50 years to do the job right the first time. It's been a nightmare experience. When the installer came back to fix the caulk he caulked over the old caulk and didn't remove the peeling caulk. I know it will be an issue... I plan to fix on my own. Very, very disappointed.

  Purchased several windows which are very good. A couple windows, however, could not be locked and it took several visits and much time to resolve the issue. Several weeks ago I received a call asking if anything else might be needed. I did express disappointment in finding out two torn screens that came with the windows could only be repaired by B&R but I had previously been advised that I would have to deliver them from Bloomington to their office on the north side and pick them up again. I suggested that I could wait for a crew working in Bloomington to pick them up but was told I would be charged for that. The man I spoke with replied he would advise a woman in the office of the situation to see what they could do to resolve the issue and that I would get a call in 1-2 days. Never heard a thing. So my opinion is that the product is good but service not so much.

  Builders installed a new side light entry door and storm door, sliding glass patio door, and upstairs bedroom windows. Product quality is exceptional and the install crew was quick, clean, and very professional.

  I've used Builders and Remodelers for several years on projects ranging from windows, doors, and roof replacement. Each time, the team at Builders and Remodelers have done an excellent job and have been responsive to my requests. I'm looking forward to using them for future projects.

  Builders and Remodelers came in and replaced a couple of sliding glass doors and windows in my home. The quality of my replacement windows are a tremendous improvement from what was previously installed. I dealt with air leaking through my windows causing my living room and kitchen to be freezing all the time during fall/winter. It’s been a couple of weeks with my new windows and doors, and I have had absolutely 0 temperature issues in those two rooms. Not to mention aesthetically, my new windows and sliding glass doors are a significant upgrade. I’m incredibly happy with the project and am excited to host Thanksgiving this year with a warm kitchen and living room!
  Also to add, throughout the sales process I felt heard and received exactly what I was looking for. During the window and door installation, the team was respectful of my property and left everything as it was when they got there. I am very impressed and intend to use Builders and Remodelers again in the future for my remodeling needs.

  Builders and Remodelers replaced our roof, soffits, and fascia. They did a great job. The whole process from requesting a quote through completion of the work was easy and straightforward. They were able to schedule our job faster than other contractors who provided quotes. The quoted price was similar to other quotes provided and the work was done in a timely manner. Crews were very careful to protect plants that we had growing around the house. The work looks great and crews cleaned everything up very well. We wouldn't hesitate to use Builders and Remodelers again for future projects.

  We had a very good experience with Builders and Remodelers. **** gave us our quote, and was specific, honest, and helpful. No pressure, and worked within our budget. **** managed our project, and was exceedingly helpful, going above and beyond at each step. We are very happy with our new roof, soffit/fascia! The communication and professionalism throughout the project, from everyone we worked with at the company, was beyond our expectations. On top of that, they are all such nice people. With the stress and expense of large home projects, it meant a lot to work with thoughtful, personable people we could trust. We will work with Builders and Remodelers again on all our home projects.

  It’s hard to provide this review because the product they provided is outstanding to this point and yet the installation was horrible. The subcontractors that came to install were horrible. The caulking was terrible. They moved an our indoor and outdoor furniture and never put it back. We had to pick up nails and screws that were left on the ground. We almost lost our dog because they left the side gate open. They used a sawzall to get the kitchen window out and in the process broke a handmade wedding gift. I emailed Adam and Jeff several times with zero response. I finally spoke to VP/GM. They sent a person out to fix the caulk work. Even he said it was absolutely a terrible job. We were told we would be compensated for the broken items but never received anything. Great product horrible contractors. If you use this company stay on top of the subcontractors. I do take some blame. They had me fill out a sheet and I indicated they did a good job. It wasn’t until after they left we discovered the terrible work and broken items.

  Builders and Remodelers agrees with some of the reviewer's statement and disagree with others. We agree that "some" of the caulking, that although met code and was not wrong, was not aesthetically pleasing. We agreed to clean it off and re-caulk it and we did so in an expeditious manner. The customer is responsible for moving items out of the work area prior to installation and failed to do so requiring the crew to move it out of the way. It is still the customers responsibility to move it back.The customer had a dish that apparently moved and fell due to the vibration caused by the use of a saw to remove the existing window on the exterior of the home. The crew was not negligent as we cannot control how items are stored or secured inside the home.The customer had chickens roaming freely in the same backyard that the gate was allegedly left open. The dog apparently escaped 3 days after the installation was completed. We find it improbable that the neither the dog nor chickens would have escaped in the prior three days if in fact the installers had left the gate open which they deny as they state they were diligent in closing the gate do to the chickens roaming free.We cannot agree nor disagree with any job debris not cleaned up as the customer stated they picked it up. If we had been made aware of any cleanup issue we would have provided service immediately.We did not agree to or promise compensation to the customer for any damage or otherwise. We did agree to buy ***** and his wife dinner which we will make good on. We are truly sorry that the customer is not pleased with the outcome of their experience and feel we followed up and took care of the issues that were brought forth in a timely and professional manner. Keep in mind, the customer gave the installer and process a glowing review at completion of the project. Sadly, the customer appears to be upset about things that they were responsible for and beyond our control. If the customer has any further issues that we can address, we encourage them to contact us directly for timely resolution.
