I purchased a vehicle November 27, 2023. From Kia of Mankato in *********. The vehicle is a 2017 ******* Tucson that has known engine problems but was not known to me when I purchased it after having the vehicle for roughly 30 days the drain plug fell out and now has engine failure.*** contacted the dealership and they want to charge me $7000 for a new engine. I towed the vehicle 800 miles to have them look at it and theyre not going to do anything about it other than try and charge me for a new engine. The problem that happened with this vehicle has happened over ******* of these vehicles. They have already replaced over ****** engines but theyre not going to take care of me.Not only that they committed fraud to the bank because they never submitted proof such as a W-2 or a check stub. Somehow they got the loan to go through without that.

************** acquired a vehicle from our dealership and has since driven nearly **** miles in the ******. According to **************'s assessment, if there were a problem with the drain plug, it would have been implausible for him to have accumulated such mileage. We suspect the possibility that **************, being a technician himself, might have conducted his oil change and inadvertently failed to securely replace the plug.

Regarding his second grievance of fraudulence, ************** alleges that we neglected to submit proof of his income. However, when ************** completed the credit application, he affirmed its accuracy and truthfulness by signing it. Furthermore, the bank's requirements for his application did not include proof of income.  If ****************** claim suggests discrepancies in his stated income, it would be he who is engaging in fraudulent activity, which could lead to potential criminal repercussions.

I bought a vehicle battery in February of 2022 and took vehicle into a local mechanic shop. They told my battery was bad and its still under warranty and they dont want to replace the battery. The service manager customer service is horrible and had many problems with them.

*************** bought a battery about a year and a half ago. The proration showed no coverage. We needed a few days to get *** involved to get authorization to replace the battery at no charge. It was approved yesterday and the new battery is now in his vehicle.

November 16, 2022. Purchased a car from **** at KIA of Mankato. **** the salesman and I noticed a coolant leak and documented it on the purchase paperwork to be repaired. **** assured me it would be fixed before we picked up the car. A month later no heat due to low coolant. December 20,2022, took it in for repair which they covered under the 30 day warranty. They fixed the leak by topping off the coolant (no repairs were performed). January 14, 2023, again no heat due to low coolant. Took it back in to have the repair that should have been fixed before delivery completed. I was quoted approximately $5,000.00 to repair the coolant leak that was supposed to be fixed before we took delivery of the vehicle upon initial purchase. I was told that due to the leak the catalytic converter needs to be replaced as well. After several phone calls and attempts at negotiations *** covered 500 dollars towards the repair that should have been fixed in November **** at no cost to me. Due to the high cost of the repair I was only able to get the coolant leak fixed. I went and picked the car up today February 7, 2023, and it now has an exhaust leak that wasnt there prior to the repair they supposedly completed this time. I went and spoke with **** in the midst of the negotiations, wanting to get a copy of the documented coolant leak repair order that he failed to provide to me upon purchase. **** reluctantly made me a copy of the repair agreement. KIA of Mankato uses ******* of Mankato for service work and repairs. I have attached receipts for repairs, purchase document with fix antifreeze leak noted. Parts list provided to me by ******* of Mankato to repair exhaust leak.

***** and I had a productive conversation on the phone and discussed his concerns in detail. We agreed that a reimbursement of $765 would leave him entirely content. To go the extra mile, we are going to help him secure a good deal on repairs for the cat. and exhaust leak and contribute additional funds to the project.

My car broke down on a Saturday with problems of the vehicle losing power, shaking, and smoke coming out of the exhaust and the car would not start up again. We hauled it to Loa of Mankato to be worked on. I called that Monday getting information on the next step and the lady that I was working with named ****** told me that if they didnt get to it by 5pm they would that Tuesday. I called them on Tuesday at the end of the day and ****** didnt answer so I called back and asked if I could speak to someone that was working on my car so I could get some info on it. A service man answered and first thing he said was so youre the one who keeps calling about your car I left ****** a voicemail telling her how I did not like being talked to like that as thats my property and I can call as much as I want. She told me I should have just left her a voicemail instead of taking to others. I told her its a 2022 brand new car- I want info and she said to me, ok well its only Tuesday as me calling was a problem. I was told they way I was talking they could deny service but didnt acknowledge how I was being talked to first. They had my car for almost a month and told us they would not touch it until we heard from *** & go gas station because they told us it was bad gas- as soon as I contacted *** & go they text my boyfriend letting us know my car was finished. We brought up that it was the plan to not touch it until we called insurance and the gas station. We asked for a report and they told me they didnt have a report but they could send me a video of them doing a burn test- the only thing we received was a picture of yellow green gas in my gas tank. *** & go had NO reports of bad gas and was very sure their gas was clean and I got gas from them 3 days before my car broke down. *** did not agree and I had to pay the cost of almost $700. We had to return to them as there was a pinched gasket and it was their fault. When we showed up even more drama happenedTO BE CONTINUED

If this customer feels this should be covered, then they should call Kia ******** affairs. They carry the warranty on all of their products. Of course the gas station is going to respond the way they did. They don't want to pay for the repair. After removing the bad gas, the vehicle has been operating fine after we replaced O-ring seal at the oil pump when it did not seal properly. It was replaced at no charge to the customer. this is not a ********************** issue, nor the manufactures. The customer can call to see if they can get reimbursed. Tell us why here...

    Customer Answer

    Date: 09/14/2022

I am rejecting this response because:

The gas station would not just say that to not have to pay for a repair-we come from a small town and we know the manager and supervisor very well.  they would stand behind what they sell. The time and money that was put into this disaster along with the rude employees, no help at all with anything. Verifying and agreeing no work will be done on the car until you were told to do so until the confirmation of *** and go a multi million dollar corporation that backs there fuel. Also a burn test? Every Kia ****** was called regular ding this make believe burn test witch no other Kia ****** ship has ever **** of. Neither any mechanic and mechanic shops that I have called. Over 30 places if I recall. No Kia ******ship runs a burn test for bad fuel and or have ever **** of such thing. Scam.

I had scheduled an appointment with Kia of Mankato, when I called about the appointment I had told them that I needed my normal maintenance done on the vehicle I also told what part I needed for my AC the gal I spoke to told me to call Monday morning to the parts department and get the part ordered, so I called parts and got it ordered, on Tuesday to check and see if the part was in I spoke to *** he listed that I had requested tires and some other things which was not what I told the gal. I corrected him and he said the part was in and ready for day of service. I went to my appointment today at 9 AM, when I arrived I was greeted by a gal named ******, she asked for my name and went over the services I was having none of which she listed were what I told them I was making the appointment for I then corrected her. Let her know what I was in for. after waiting at *** for about 2 hours I asked if we could have a ride to target, while at target ****** had given me a call about the part that I needed for my AC she told me that it was not under warranty, she then said that she would call this other company to see if they could cover it and I told her that would be great if you could and that if it wasn't covered if she could call me and let me know so I could talk to my husband, ****** never called me so I was under the impression that she got it taken care of for me. After about an hour my kids and I were ready to head back it was about 12:30-1PM this time upon arriving ****** let me know that it wasn't covered and then told me the amount of the service that was done. I then questioned her and said wait so the Service is done she responded yes I said so it wasn't covered and she said no she called Bloomington and they said it wasn't, so I then asked her why the part was put in her response was because you ordered the part.

    Business Response

This customer purchased the vehicle at *** of Bloomington. It was a certified vehicle. The A/C issue is not a covered component as the time has expired. Bloomington diagnosed the vehicle and the customer contacted us to order the parts. We ordered the parts and when she arrived we asked for authorization to diagnose the concern but she said it was already done at Bloomington and just needed the part installed as they said it was under warranty. So, we installed it and called it in and it was not a covered component. She has powertrain coverage but nothing else. Customer is in contact with *** seeking reimbursement for the repair. The basic warranty for this particular vehicle expired in June of 2022. Hopefully these customers get some assistance from ***. We are also contacting the region on their behalf. ***************************

    Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:

I was never asked any authorization upon arrival to my appointment, all that was asked was what I was being seen for and they also had that incorrect. I ordered the part yes but that was pending the coverage of the warranty which I had stated to ****** when she contacted me while my children and I were at target. There was no call back from Ms. ****** after I had asked her to give me a call back once she figured out if it was covered under warranty. I received a call from ************ manager later in the day telling me that they spoke to *************** and said that there was a miscommunication and that they will change the price to me that is telling me someone messed up and was wrong for putting in a part that a ******** did not authorize. Also the ********************** service manager received a call from my husband that same day he proceeded to hang up on my husband and called myself a liar, as well as making a statement that we just want free service. For a manager call to speak to a ******** that was and to say those things was very disrespectful. He also questioned me on why I came to Kia of Mankato instead of staying at Bloomington, excuse me I am a Kia ******** and it should not matter why I chose your business. I am completely at a lost for works at this situation and I feel I was taken advantage of because I was alone with my two children.

We have worked with *** and they are authorizing a good will claim on this particular vehicle, even though it was not a covered component. The customers account will be credited.
