I spoke with ***** a tech owner of the company and explained I had an oven that was not working. I told him what was going on and that I had previously had another company out who said they could not fix it because the part was not available. I explained the part they said they could not get and while I was on the phone he said he checked and could get the part. I said I did not want a service call if that was not the case and he said he could definitely get the part. He came out and briefly looked at the oven - never taking anything apart just standing there looking at the oven and said he could get the part which would cost around $700. He said he needed half down which was $350 and he also said because he was getting the part the service fee was waived and it would take 7-10 days to get part. I gave him a $350 check 12/27/23. I waited until 1/5/24 and started connecting with him via text which is how all communication has taken place. I reached out several times until 1/15/24 when he finally answered when I asked if he was ripping me off. On 1/27/24 he finally responded and set an appointment for 12-5 for Monday 1/29/24. I took vacation time from work and remained at home waiting for him and he no showed and no called. Finally on 2/1 after numerous attempts to reach him he responded and said he was going to refund me and send a check. I have reached out to him several times since then and have not received a refund check or a response. I have all of this correspondance documented via text message. I can provide a copy of the cashed check upon request.

Company came out to inspect our non- working freezer Jan 2. After looking at the freezer for less than 1 minute he declared that we needed a new compressor for $1500. Promised that ** would give a 5 yr warranty on it (not true according to **) and charged us $132 and would not take a credit card. Found another repair service who tested the compressor. It was fine and simply needed Freon charge for less than $150. Said he would send an estimate for repairs and never did- knowing it was false presumably.

Well, that company broke the law because you were not supposed to be refilling refrigerant if theres a leak. That is a $10,000 fine minimum and not something we support. It might work for a little bit, but it will stop working again, so yes it does need a compressor.

I am rejecting this response because:Other companies came out and tested the compressor - it was not broken. The tech at Ridge Alliance only felt it to see if it was hot and did not test it. In addition, they made inaccurate claims that ** would warranty their replacement compressor for 5 years. I reported this to ** and they indicated this is not true. Lastly, ******* would only take a check , not a credit card- likely because we wouldnt be able to dispute with the credit card company. I called Ridge multiple times and sent several texts. If they were so confident in their assessment why are they refusing to call me back about the quote??? I have heard from multiple others in my neighborhood of a similar experience as I had.

On December 22, Ridge Appliance (***** was the worker), came to my house to give a diagnosis and cost estimate for the repair of my ******* Ice Maker. I was told I needed a new ice maker put in and that the refrigerator was in danger of quitting at any moment without the repair as there was some kind of leak (nothing was provided in writing). If I wanted them to fix it, I should pay 1/2 down now and the rest upon completion of the job. They would order parts and it would take 2-3 business days to get the parts in. They assured me they would call when the parts came in. On January 5th, I texted ***** to check if parts were in. January 9th, 10th, 15th I called the business to check. Every time I called, no one answered the phone, however I left many messages. I texted the number again on Jan. 10th, no answer to my text. On Jan. 16th, I scheduled an appointment on-line as though I were a new customer, having no answer to my other communications. I scheduled an appointment for January 17th (today) for ***** to come and diagnose my ice maker, even though he already had done that. I received a confirmation text almost immediately that ***** would be there between 3 and 7 pm. I texted back and asked if ***** had the parts for my ice maker. ***** texted back the he would check and let me know. I heard nothing back. No one showed up between 3 and 7 pm and no one has called to reschedule or let me know if they even ordered parts.

We do have the parts and have tried to get ahold of you to schedule.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 01/21/2024

I am rejecting this response because:

It is not true that they have tried to contact me. The company has been avoiding my calls and texts for a month. Not one phone call was returned or initiated by Ridge Appliance.

i would like my money back in full.  I would like to work with a different company to get my ice maker repaired.

    $485 refunded please.

I had this company out to repair my fridge. They said they needed to order parts and would have them in 3-4 days. They charged me 50% of the cost upfront ($300). After 4 days I started calling them, and it went straight to voicemail every time. I called at least 10 times over a week. I also emailed twice, and when they finally responded they said they are cancelling my service and would refund me. They have not refunded me.

We have tried to get ahold of the customer to refund her.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 09/01/2023

I am rejecting this response because:

They have absolutely not made any effort to contact me. I have not gotten any calls or emails from the company. They can call me at ************ or email me at ************************ but I dont see what further information they would need from me to send a refund.
