      They dont have enough trained people. I am sitting on hold as I type this. So far, 1:19 min to get a problem resolved. In their defense, 2 people have picked up, but again placed me on hold. I have been trying to - unsuccessfully - move money out of Ameriprise and move it to another institution since May. It's July 25th. They are truly the WORSE financial company that I have ever encountered.

      This company should be ashamed of themselves for their gross mismanagement practices. My siblings and I have been trying to get a death claim processed after the passing of our grandmother. We have been repeated directed to supply the same paperwork and receive letters stating that all information has not been provided so they cannot process the claim. Every time we call to get clarity, we get different answers. It is beyond getting the runaround. We believe it is intentional so that they do not have to pay out the claim. I would never do business with them ever and tell everyone I know the same. When I mentioned the terrible situation to my neighbor, she explained that she had a similar problem with a policy her father had with them and they never received a *****. I believe this is a pattern and that many have had similar experiences. They should not be allowed to continue to operate. If I could rate them a zero, I would. I am also considering taking legal action.

      They are terrible with my Dad. He is 93 and CHF. We've been in the hospital for 15 days this year. We are trying get a bank draft to them They making it impossible to get anything done. The times they have helped it took 3 hours to do simple things. Terrible

      Total nightmare. One of their employees facilitated a huge amount of money going to my (now) ex-husband and hiding it. (7 figures).Additionally, I have made ***** attempts to get someone on the phone that can facilitate a QDRO order and I have gotten so much runaround. When I did finally get someone one the phone, the person was self-disclosed as uneducated and untrained.Hours on hold resulting in no help.Transfers from one department to another.... no help, no understanding, no professionalism.Meanwhile I have tens of thousands of dollars sitting in my ex's account, making money, that should have been transferred to me months ago - and yet, no action... no matter what I do.

      ***************************** (located in ***********, **) is the biggest con artist and gives *********************** a run for his money. DO NOT TRUST HIM WITH YOUR FINANCES! H*** blow through it like a coke **** on a ****** in Vegas. He will lie to you and tell you want to hear. Then, he will squander away your future. Just ****** his name. Hes been sanctioned be the SEC multiple times and yet Ameriprise allows him to play with peoples futures.

      I was encouraged to get a disability policy. I was not told this would impact my life insurance policy and reset the vesting schedule. Agents misrepresented what I was signing. I thought it was an application. Once I discovered this I got the run around. Now a life insurance policy I should have been vested in years ago now has lost money and I had to start over. Agents get kick backs for adding policies. They lie and misrepresent what is happening. I trusted my agent. I would never recommend this company. I am in process of moving all my money away from Ameriprise.

      I lost over $100,000 in 2 years' time. I regret ever trusting them with my hard-earned savings. The biggest mistake I made was not watching over my own money. Make that your priority otherwise everything will end ** in their proprietary funds which are adequate at best. Never once did a single person I spoke to ever take any accountability for their poor performance. In any other company a person would get a PIP or simply fired for lack of performance. Not here my friends. There are plenty of asset managers out there, this just didn't happen to be one of them.

      Does not respond to emails and calls made that severely affecting, portfolio, investment, life insurance.Tried contacting several times with no response.

      @Ameriprise did not w/drawl 11k as requested (no penalty) What they did do was w/drawl 3 times the $ (big penalties). How can they think theyre not going to get caught.#AnythingForProfitPenalties #WhoseMoneyIsItMineOrTheirs #Greedy #GotCaught #Adios @ameriprise ????

      Incompetent. Period. Watching a $75K annuity languish since 2015, now worth less than $78K after over 8 years, during a period of exceptional market performance. That's an annualized growth of .45% while the market has averaged ****% annually after inflation over the same period. Pathetic...I cannot imagine how lousy/badly managed the underlying investments are that have annualized returns of just .45% for the past 8 years. That's a $70K opportunity cost to me thanks to Ameriprise's ineptitude. I will say there were periods when I could have 'realized' my gains by basically paying a vig for them to 'freeze' my gains. So as long as I gave them more money, they'd protect my investment. I'll soon be paying a penalty to liquidate that failure. Completely worth it to put them in my rearview, but it's really me giving them more money to get my investment back at a loss. Ameriprise (Riversource) is absolutely anti-fiduciary. I've been warning people about them for years. Don't do it.
