I will start off by saying that I did not want to resort to writing a negative review, but I believe it was warranted as I haven’t been able to get a resolution, or any sort of explanation communicated to me from anyone on the sales team at Morrie’s Minnetonka Mazda. I was there test driving a vehicle I intended to buy on 2/12/25. I communicated to them that I needed to pick up a check from my bank and that I would be able to return on Friday 2/14/25 to pickup my car. I had a purchase order in hand from the dealership and they knew full well that I was on my way to get my money and that this sale should have been marked as pending. Friday morning arrives and I get a text from the salesmen stating that Morrie's had sold my car to someone else yesterday. At this point I had my cashier’s check and other paperwork in hand, and I was ready to head down to the dealership in an hour. Nobody gave me the courtesy of a phone call, text nor email the day before to even let me know that someone else was interested in my car. They never gave me a chance to get down there. I wasn’t given a single warning. In addition to this, I have tried on four different occasions to get ahold of the salesmen, Rex, just to get answers as to how things went down. He has been ducking ever single call and text. I tried calling the main number to get ahold of the sales manager and they are never available, even when I am lucky enough to have someone pick up the phone. Shame on the sales manager for allowing this sort of thing to happen. To allow a sale to go through knowing full well there was already a pending sale… and then not even give me the courtesy of a phone call before it sold. All this to say, this dealership is not customer friendly. Regardless of their dealership rules and how they do business, these kinds of practices breed a bad reputation for the Morries name. I ask the sales team to please take this from the customers perspective.

We apologize that the vehicle sold to a different customer. We do not hold vehicles and at no point was there a conversation that the vehicle would be put aside and on hold to purchase by this customer. We do our best to be as fair as possible to everyone that comes through our door and we had a different customer walk-in that wanted to move forward, purchase the vehicle and pay for it. We have tried to reach out to this customer to offer a resolution and have been unsuccessful.

I bought a 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan from Morrie’s in March 8th, 2023, the first problem I had with the vehicle was March 14th when it rolled down a hill where I brought into the dealership and they came back with “you forgot to put the car in park” come to find out the car has very little breaks in the backend. Then a month after purchasing the vehicle I got a low oil notification. Morrie’s Mazda could never tell me when they did an oil change on the car. Well after putting in one quart of oil a week later I brought it into Morrie’s Mazda on April 8th, 2023 where they told me “there is nothing wrong, and that if there is something wrong this is a Volkswagen and we are a Mazda dealership”. A week later I was low on oil, I brought into Lurther Volkswagen on April 28th where they diagnosed an array of issues with the vehicle. For starts it had a crack in the thermostat housing and a needs a new water pump. I purchased the warranty, and the warranty would not cover a new thermostat housing unit, it also would not cover the breakdown of the engine to find where the oil leak is coming from. I brought this information back to Morrie’s where they told me the car was perfect until I bought it and I caused the issues, this is very false and I was told by Volkswagen that these issues have been going on for months if not years. Morrie’s has offered to pay off my loan but will not repay my down payment or give me the money that I got for trade in. They are being unbelievably rude and are taking advantage of the situation that they have placed me in.
They have offered to put me into a lease which is not what I planned for and the monthly payments would increase a TON.

I have connected with the customer and everything has been resolved. She purchased a different vehicle from ** on Tuesday night and we traded her out of the ********** she was having problems with. All is well.
