I purchased a warranty from UPSIE for my Epson EcoTank Pro ET-***** printer . The price that I paid for the printer was $1066.24. I had an issue with the black ink not printing properly; so I contacted UPSIE and they had me mail the printer out on 9/1/23 to one of their repair facilities They told me that there was no authorized repair facilities in my area. It took until 10/23/23 to find out that my printer was unrepairable and that I was going to get a cash settlement. After calling their support on 10/24/23; I was told that the settlement was only for $459. This is $607.24 less than what I paid for the printer. I was told the difference was that I had to pay for shipping, diagnostics, and all the parts they had to order to attempt to fix my printer. Why do I have to pay for parts that did not fix my printer? It's impossible that this all this cost $607.24.Business Response

In December of 2023, Upsie went bankrupt and the underwriters that backed their plans, either Fortegra or Centricity emailed all customers who filed claims prior to January 1st, 2024, letting them know that their account and plans will be handled by themselves instead of by Upsie.
As such, we recommend searching your inbox for the keywords either, "Fortegra" or "Centricity" to find out the backer of your plan and where you will contact them for assistance regarding your claim. From there, they will direct you to provide any necessary information to resume your claims experience.

I purchased a 5 yr protection plan in October 2022 for my Peloton Bike plus. I recently sold the peloton and have been trying to cancel the protection plan to get a refund. The website says it takes 5 business days once a cancellation has been submitted. Today is day 12 and they have not responded to my request for cancellation. I have also left about 5 voicemails and 6 emails and they have not responded.Business Response

After careful review, our claims partner has determined that the claim must be denied. The reason for this is that the phone that was sent in does not match the phone that the warranty was purchased for.
I know this is disappointing news, and I apologize for any inconvenience it may cause. However, our claims partner has offered you a concession settlement to fulfill the remainder of your contract. This means that you will receive a check for the remaining balance on your contract. I hope you will accept this offer. It is our way of saying sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you.The check was approved on 3/28 and it will be received by you within **** business days via first class mail.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at *****************************
Thank you for your understanding.Sincerely,

I bought a plan for accidental coverage for a ******* tablet. The website indicated that cracked screens would be covered for accidental damage. My daughter was playing with the tablet on the couch, got up briefly, then sat down on the tablet, which is when the damage occurred. I am told that this accidental damage isn't covered. However, I was unaware of the limitations of the coverage when purchasing the item, and believe my claim for accidental damage should be covered.Business Response

I contacted the company after seeing one of their commercials and they explain their contract to me which seemed pretty straightforward. They explain that their standard contract has a 90-day clause that you can't file for any warranties for the first 90 days unless you provide proof of purchase that can validate your phone is in good working condition. I provided the receipts and I canceled my services with **** because I was paying triple the price that I was going to be paying for the new service. I cracked my screen and contacted them for warranty on the 1st of January and they told me I don't have a warranty yet. I explained both what I was told over the phone and what they had on their website and the gentleman told me I was wrong. It's absolutely either a fraudulent company or they have fraudulent business practices.Business Response

Hi ******** -
Thank you for choosing Upsie to protect your phones. We looked up the email and phone number attached to your account and did not find any interactions with our customer support team. Please let us know what phone number you called from or email you wrote to us with so we can review what was said to you before you purchased the plan. We do have record of you calling into claims on 1/2/23, 8 days after you made the warranty purchase, to make a claim where that was denied because your phone was purchased more than 30 days ago.
We are not able to protect already broken devices and to avoid insurance fraud we set up the 90 day waiting period to make a claim. We do waive that waiting period for customers who've purchased their phone in the last 30 days and provide their receipt to show the proof of purchase. We list that on our website and that is what our customer service agents say to our customers as well - see attached.
If you would like to keep coverage on this phone, Warranty ID: ******** - "Dakota's Phone", please fix the device and send us proof of repair as you will not be able to file any claims in the future until this is fixed. If you want to cancel this warranty, please do so before 1/24/22 to receive a full refund and avoid being charged for the next billing cycle. If you have any further questions please reach out to our customer support team (email: ***************************** or call: **************, Mon-Fri - 9AM-4PM CST).
Thanks!Team Upsie
