We paid off the judgment against us by sending a cashiers check. They wanted us to give them our banking information to set up and ACH for the payoff. NO THANK YOU!! You give me your banking information and I can send an ACH payment, but they are already taking money from my account that we cannot get stopped since we send the cashier's check and you want me to give you my banking information? I don't think so!! They, apparently, only have a part-time person working in the accounting department, or so we were told. People work hard for their money and when you sit on payments and not process them and still getting paid.....that is WRONG! Barton Law Group has some unethical if not shady business practices to be an "attorney".

I am confused by the complaint. It starts off with this person saying they paid off their judgment with the cashier's check. It then complains that our firm asked them for banking information to set up an ACH payment. We would not have asked for banking information if the judgment was already paid off. We would have given them an option to make an ACH payment or send the payment by cashiers check. We were only giving them the same option that many other companies including credit cards, utilities, and many other companies give people to make a payment.

I also do not understand what they are complaining about regarding the firm accountant being part-time. Any payment that is processed after the day it was received is backdated to the date the firm received the payment so asked to make sure consumers are receiving credit as of the day we received the payment.

I did not see anywhere that identifies who the complainant is. there is no last name or case number by which I can identify her. There's an email address, but that email address does not appear in our system. therefore, I cannot speak specifically to the facts of this particular case, but what I stated above would have applied. We don't want payments after the judgment is paid in full because the necessity to refund that payment creates additional work for our firm. In addition to following the law, avoiding the resulting extra work incentivizes us to not ask for money after judgment is paid in full.

Nothing from this complaint leads me to believe the law firm did anything illegal or improper. If there are additional concerns, please contact me.
