On 11/04/2024, I had placed my trash can at the curb as I always do. Swinger sanitation took my trash can and threw it away. Upon calling them, they advised it was their fault and they should not have thrown it away and they will not replace my personal trash can. They stated they left one of their cans for me to use; however, I would have to pay the additionally monthly cost to use theirs. The business did not contact me prior to throwing away my personal trash can which had been being used without issue for two years. When I talked to the staff, they were very unfriendly and unprofessional. They stated it was their fault but it was not their problem that the trash can was thrown away and I need to replace it myself.Business Response

Dear Swinger Sanitation,Im writing to request a credit for one week of service due to a missed trash pickup on October 17, 2024. I paid my bill at 2:42 PM on October 16th and was informed my trash wouldnt be picked up because my payment was made after the 1:30 PM deadline, which is not mentioned on your website or invoice.When I called for clarification on how to handle my trash, I was treated unprofessionally. The representative blamed me for the issue, refused to provide a solution, and spoke to me in a disrespectful tone. I asked to speak to a supervisor, but was told I should simply "find another service."Given this experience and the missed service, I request a credit for the lost week of service. I hope this issue will be addressed, and that no other customers face such hostility when seeking assistance.Business Response

Purchased first quarter trash service on June 17. It took 3 weeks and multiple phone calls to the business for Swinger to pick up my trash. Finally they started picking up the trash, but last week they did not pick up the trash. I would like a refund for the remainder of the quarter of $58.44. I've tried to call the phone number at ************ multiple times today but all I receive is an automated message that the line is busy. We are landlord to a family member. We are big on recycling. On their website says nothing about cardboard being 3x3 and they don’t pick it up, even when cut into 3x3!! Why waste $4.00 extra if it is not pick up? Why recycle? The house is in the city limits and we just want what they say they do! All recycling not put restrictions on them either. Take care of the planet, take care of Missouri. Never had issues in other states.Business Response

We provide service for the City of Sullivan. The city bills the customers however they wish on their utility bill, so the $4.00 charge in reference has nothing to do with our company. As far as the recycling goes, when we set the recycling containers we leave directions with them on what we can and can't take and what the customer needs to do to get the recycling picked up. When we leave something behind it is because it is something that would jeopardize the entire load of recycling. Must people don't realize all it takes is one piece of trash or something considered trash (pizza box, water bottle with lid on it, tin can with food in it) to cause a whole load of recycling to have to be takin to the landfill instead of the recycling facility. We make sure that all our loads are sorted properly to make sure they end up where they should. Sorry if this makes it more time consuming for the customer to do it correctly to insure it doesn't just become trash.Initial Complaint

Apr22-Jul22, Swinger Sanitation obliterated our front lawn. I spoke with ***** @************ numerous times and he said he would forward my pictures to his boss and that someone would come out and repair the damages. Every month I would call and he would say that someone is coming to fix it and that I just have to wait, I'm still waiting. What initiated this deliberate destroying of our property was my asking that our trash be picked up at the end of our driveway because my husband who is a 73 yr old Veteran has a bad back and he finds it very painful to lift the trash can into the back of the truck and drive it down the road a half mile. ***** was agreeable to this but every week they drove their trucks on my lawn and got as close as they could to destroying our house number post and then the other side of our driveway. I still have the texts from *****. I also talked to others in the office as they claimed there was another ******* and would say when I called that I must have talked to the other ***** but I recognize voices well. I also believe this was even more deliberate after I notified them because I saw them cut off my lawn within 2" of our stone. Steve then told me, it was not deliberate and he was not that nice. Their truck wheelbase is 200-240", needing 30-40' turning radius. Our main road is 48' wide with an extra berm of 8'. Our driveway is 32' wide with a 12' berm opposite our number post. There is plenty of room to turn their truck as many trucks have been here to build and maintain our residence and none of them ever did this. We've had Semi-trucks, Propane trucks, Cement trucks, Delivery trucks, Timber trucks, Septic Tank trucks...with turning radius' of 30'40'. Apparently their truck driver did not have the skill to make the turn as ***** told me he was a new hire but then your company caused damages and you need to fix it and you said you would. We have no choice but to use their service because no other company will come to our rural location.Business Response

We did indeed have a new driver that got a little to far over while turning around. We apologized for it and told the customer the next week we would make sure a supervisor went with him and this would not happen again. When they ran the following week with the supervisor they turned around in the same drive and made sure not to get to far over like previously. The customer still called saying we tore up their driveway again. Which we did not at all. We explained that it seemed that having our truck turn around in their driveway was making them very unpleased, so we fixed the issue and no longer turn around in their drive.
