We put $300.00 down on a 7x16 enclosed trailer. Our truck went down and we couldn't afford to buy a trailer at this time. I asked for a refund and was told that it wasn't a problem. I had to call the salesman 3 times to find out why my deposit hadn't been refunded. He finally told me I couldn't get my deposit back for some trumped up reason about a time factor. I don't feel anyone was being honest with me from the start. I'd like my deposit back to pay for the repairs on our truck, it only seems fair.

We are willing to look into a refund and we have tried to reach out to the customer and we have not received a response from the customer.

On April 7, 2023 I purchased a 2023 28' Gooseneck Big Tex trailer. The transaction at the dealer in Richmond Kentucky went super smooth, or so we thought. About a month later we still hadn't gotten the tags for our trailer, so here we are making our first payment on a trailer that we've not been able to use. I call ***** at Silver Line and he said that they were still waiting on the ***, manufacturers certificate of origin, to send to the loan company. OK cool, but that doesn't help, since you said that you did the request the following day of purchase. That day, 5/2, you made a "2nd request" or so he said. I called again on 5/10, since the loan company still hadn't gotten it, and my call was sent straight to voicemail. I called AGAIN on 5/17 still nothing, no answer, just the voicemail. 5/26 Corey, oh we're still waiting, it normally takes 2-3 weeks... I told him that's good and all but at this point it's been over 6 weeks. ***** "oh really" 6/7 FINALLY GOT THE ***, 2 months later... that's a really really long "2-3 weeks" 6/29, we've finally had our trailer out on the road for about 3 weeks. We've already had to replace a tire, and have 3 more where the belts are showing. Guess what, tires aren't covered under warranty, I get it, it's a wearing part However, I was hoping to get more than 3 weeks, less than 5k miles on the first set of tires.

      Business Response

      Date: 06/29/2023

We do apologize for the delay on getting plates. Once the trailer is sold all the registration paperwork is handled between the finance company and the customers residing state. Although the process is getting shorter and shorter each day, timelines for receiving plates is out of our control. As for the tires, it is correct that they are a wearable component on the trailer so most of the time the manufacturer will not cover those. The reason tires are typically not covered is simply because there is no way for a manufacturer to tell if they were overloaded or improperly maintained (correct air pressure, ect.) or if they had a fault from the factory. I do recommend reaching out to the tire manufacturer to see if there is any warranty from them.

I am leasing a trailer from this company they purchased the trailer from ******* ********** *****, ******* never received payment for this trailer from this company. I have not received my permanent plates. I am unable to get temporary plates. They aren’t even the titled owner of this trailer and they are charging me over $500 every month for the trailer. They are title jumping.

We have reached out to the customer to gain clarity on the issue. The trailer was purchased from ******* Investments and ******* Investments is in control of the time frame for the title. Silverline assist with the process of selling the used or repossessed units for ******* Investments as a consignment sale basically. All of the paperwork shows that the trailer was purchased from ******* Investments and they also have the title. We have stepped in to resolve this issue for the customer and believe the customer is pleased at this point.

Purchased a used trailer from Silver Line on 3/25/2023 and paid cash. I have not received the title. I am now subject to penalties with the state because I am unable to get plates. I addition, without plates, I am unable to use the trailer. I have called Silver Line 9 times. Each time, I am transferred to voicemail. I leave a message and nobody returns my calls. Silver Line is a 2 hour drive and is unreasonable to drive there.

A representative from our company reached out on 5/3/23 and explained the situation to Mr. *******. Mr. ******* purchased a trailer that was previously repossessed through the finance company we use. The customer signed documents that states he understood Silverline Trailers is not the holder of the title and Silverline Trailers is not responsible for any time lines or late fees. We do apologize if he feels that we did not reach out in a timely fashion. If he needs any further assistance from our office please call  ***** ******** and use extension 3 for our titling department.

I bought a trailer from them was told $12,900 for the price after all financing. I gave $1283.00 down and also made first payment of 537.00+10.00 convivence fee. I was not given any information of the finance company was told they would call me. After having the trailer for about 3 weeks with no call we inquired on where to make a payment. was given a link that only let you make a payment it showed nothing else. a few days later got the payment book. come to find out that we had to pay $32,220 for it that's $19320 dollars interest on a $12,900 loan no way we would have agreed to this. We contacted the guy we bought the trailer from he said nothing you can do about it now. I said we should have been told up front he said we didn't ask him, so he didn't have to tell us. How can we ask about something we have no clue to ask about. This is a scam they are running to get people's money and then when no one wants to pay $32220 for a cheaply built trailer, they can repo and keep your money. So, we are out $1830.00 on a trailer we now have to give back and didn't even get to use yet all because the salesman didn't have to be honest with us.

We reached out to Mr. ***** on 2/22/23 and explained that we are just a retail store that sell trailers. We do help assist our customers with all aspects of their purchase including financing. I explained that whatever the arrangement is with the financing is ultimately between the customer and the financing institution they decided upon. I did spend some time on the phone and explained that he is not tied to the $32,000 cost of that trailer. The way the contract reads he can pay his trailer off early at any time within the 60 months he originally agreed on and only pay 40% of the remaining balance. Mr. ***** seemed pleased with that information.

      ********** ********

I am rejecting this response because: I in no way was ok with our conversation, in fact you sent me the contract that was signed by someone at Silverline Trailers not by me.  It was your companys responsibility to sale me a trailer with terms said outright and signed by me.  If your company forges peoples names on contracts how is this legal?  This whole transaksion has been a scam.

16ft enclosed trailer purchased at Richmond location Oct 28. Was told by sales man title memeradom would be to be in 30 days which is required by law.. It's now February and I left with a rto trailer Oct 28th. First Noone can call you back once you leave the lot. I've called everyday left many messages. They never gave me a memorandum copy of title yet so 3 months I've not been able to get plates or insurance. I refuse to make any payments intill I get a copy as advised by my attorney. They keep saying it's out for repo. How can they repo a trailer that they don't even even have a title for. 2nd the trailer is made by quality cargo, it's junk, seems coming apart, poor weld job, leaf springs bent, tires don't hold air, rivets n bolts falling out. And it's only been used 4 times because I can't get plates for it in ohio. Don't buy from this scam. O and the 8k trailer turns into 20k on there rto

We reached out to the customer after complaint was filed. The title he was waiting on is controlled by the finance company since he purchased a pre owned unit. I personally reached out to the company he used for financing and tracked down his title. Upon presenting the customer with that information he stated he was behind a few months on payments so before the title was sent he wanted to confirm he could catch up on his payments. I expressed that was between him and the company he used for financing. He understood and seemed pleased with the results.

I bought a repo trailer from silverline trailers in ********* in November 2022 it is now February 1st 2023 and still have not received the title. I have called and messaged the salesman repeatedly keeps telling me he will call about it. Told me to contact the finance department I did and they told me the dealership has the title.

      Business Response

      Date: 02/09/2023

Which location did you buy your trailer from? Do you remember *************'s name? I can help you track down your title. Since it is a repossessed trailer, it will be coming from the finance company. They own all the repos, Silverline just sells them on consignment. So the time frame in which the title comes is out of our control. However, sometimes we can help expedite the process by paying for express shipping.

      Customer Answer

They finally sent me my title and it is dated for when I purchased the trailer so I owe a penalty.

Got a trailer financed from silverline through their finance company. Was told the trailer was a repo an had damage to the gate which was reflected in the price. **** the saleswoman from silverline had told me his guys went over it an no other damage. I noticed the trailer looked bent from axle back. **** the saleswoman told me it was made like that and said it would take 30 days for a title since it was a repo. That was September. A couple days after I brought it home I put a 6 foot straight edge on it. Trailer is bent from axle back. Almost 3 inch difference from front to back. I reached out because I had just paid 450 for first months an down payment less than a week ago. Between the Dexter store an Festus store I had been given nothing but a wild gooses chase with them. I was given a complete made up story by another woman named ***** from the Dexter store that he would work on getting this swapped out for me after the saleswoman **** from Festus told me that all he could do was finance me another trailer if I brought in another down payment. I have been paying my payments on time, calling an leaving messages because I had never received a call back from this “*****”. Completely fabricated story. This woman ***** has no ability no do or make such decisions. Now it is almost February an still no title. Do not do business with this place. They are shady people to do business with an don’t believe in working with their customers to make things right. I am goin on 5 months of title penalties as of tomorrow still no title but the state of Missouri is sending me notices telling me I need to get it titled an pay sales tax. Hard to do with no title. Silverline an *** both point the finger at each other for the title. *** says they should they never should have sold it to me til there was a new title for it. Silverline says *** pushes them to sell these Repo trailers fast. I called *** to surrender trailer today. Trailer is bent an no title. I can’t keep paying for it.

      Business Response

      Date: 01/27/2023

I am sorry you had this experience! I was able to review your sale, and it looks like you purchased a repossessed trailer with us. These trailers are owned by the finance company (***), and we sell them on consignment for the financer. When you purchased your trailer, you were given the opportunity to do a full walk around inspection of the trailer, and you signed a paper stating that you did so. If you are seeking a refund, you would have to go through *******, as any money you placed as a down payment was sent to them. I would be more than happy to provide you with proof of that. As far as the title, we are at the mercy of *** and their title department. Since we are not the owners of those trailers we cannot apply for the title ourselves. We only sell their trailers when we have been okayed by ******* to do so as was explained by your salesman, **** when he went over the title agreement with you. I have provided the inspection, as well as the title agreement.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 01/27/2023

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

How do I pay the sales tax on something I have no title for? How do you do that in Missouri? The inspection agreement is in regards to me checking the lugnuts when I leave the lot with it. I inspected them. They were tight. No damage to trailer after it left there. Damage was there before it left. I was told it was checked out an was all good except for the gate which was pointed out to me an was told reflected the price. I was told it was made like that an because of how it was sitting in the lot is why it was like that. I want a partial refund or my down payment back. I feel I was scammed.

      Sincerely,

      ****** *****

Date of purchase- Saturday November 12th 2022 It all started several days ago. Me and ******* texted back-and-forth on ******** about different trailers and he mentioned this 2022 trailer that was brand new and it was sitting in Dexter Missouri so i will have to pay $350 to have it delivered to the silverline in Hickory. So I sent the 350 by card to ******* and he got the trailer to delivered. So after work on Saturday I headed to Hickory to pick up the trailer. After signing all the paperwork it was just about dark and we headed outside and ******* handed me the clipboard and then ran back inside and told me to do the inspection myself. So with it being dark and not really no one had to inspect a trailer sound off and when I went on with my business. *******, is the salesman that sold me the junk and knew it was because when we went outside to inspect it, he handed me the clipboard and he ran back inside. It was a few minutes away from being dark outside. What was supposed to be a NEW 2022, turns out is a 2021 and almost certain its used. Very used. When the sun came up, thats when i really looked over the trailer and thats when it all unfolded. The underneath of the trailer is almost completely covered in rust. Would a new 2022 have this much rust? The scratches and dents are clearly from being used. Not to mention the plate on the bottom of the jack is missing.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

The warranty clearly states cosmetic problems arent covered. It has nothing to do with the manufacturer. The dents and scratches were done by 1 of the 2 ways.

      1. Someone bought it, but returned it after a couple days. Before it was even considered a purchase

      2. Caused by your delivery driver when he brought it down to Kentucky.

They are claiming it was discounted a big chunk to begin with, but how come nobody mentioned it to me that it was discounted? Probably because they know I would've backed out.

We discount our inventory based on age dates. This is very standard practice for our industry. Or any industry that deals with selling inventory. This insures we move out anything that has been sitting for a while. We bought this trailer from the manufacturer, and i can assure you that it has never been sold as we would records as such. All of this has been explained to Mr. **** in the ongoing email chain that I have with him. Mr. **** was given time to look over the trailer before he decided to purchase. He also signed documents stating that the trailer had met his standards. We have all cooperated with Mr. **** and offered to assist him with a warranty claim even after he used foul language, and make negative posts about us on social media. He choose not to utilize our warranty specialist to assist in the claim. At this time we do not wish to help Mr. **** any further as there is nothing else that we can do for him.

Date of Sale - 5/27/22 Sliver Line 40' Gooseneck trailer Make- Trail Maxx 2022 Black Bought out of Waggoner, OK Sales man - *********** **** out of OK Paid $4875 down - First of all I want to say this company is very unprofessional. You cant in touch with anyone what so ever after you buy from them. When you do get in touch w/someone all they want to do is pass the buck. I drove over 550 miles to purchase this trailer and it wasn't what we were promised. We asked for specific things and it didn't have them. We wouldn't have bought it but was committed to a hot load the next day and didn't have time to look for another trailer at this time. We were told by ****** he misunderstood and he apologized and gave us $50 sent thru our cash app for the trouble. We had noticed on the way home back to Houston (with empty trailer) that it was alttile off going down the road & was thinking ok maybe we just need to tighten up a few things that may have gotten loose during shipping. Did our first load and had to park the trailer. it was dog-tailing so bad we couldn't risk taking it out again. We had to rent another trailer to get our work done since we drive for a living. Tried all week/month to reach out to anyone about getting trailer fixed & until this day not one return call or email. I am out over $5700 at this point and still having to rent a trailer costing me an extra 5% off each load I haul. Today I was told by DOT that this trailer isn't fit to be on the road until fixed. He personally said it should be returned to the manufactory because it is defected. I have a trailer guy who says it will cost approx. $800 to fix the problem and it is all because of a Spring manufactory defect. I am now out of work for a few more days so I can get my running around to get this trailer fixed from which I may not do at this time. This is a brand new trailer just made in May 2022 and have only been able to do 1 load with. On top of this they don' have any problem asking for pymt.

I am sorry that you feel your experience with Silverline was a negative one. I have reached out to everyone involved in this sale and I believe I have gathered all the details necessary to respond. It appears there was a miscommunication about the spare tire. A lot of our goosenecks do come with spares and our sales team does use this as a selling point. However, Trailmaxx does not. We are deeply sorry for the inconvenience that may have caused you. **** at Wagoner did say that Mr. ****** was very unhappy about our finance companies requirement for insurance in the customer's name. This is something out of our control as we do not make the rules we just have to abide by them. We were able to work with Mr. ****** and get his contract pushed through for financing. When he reached back out to our Wagoner team about the issues he was having with his trailer, they directed him to his salesman who in turn got in touch with our warranty department. I checked with Warranty this morning and it appears they have been working with Mr ****** on his issue and were able to get his claim turned into the manufacturer to get it processed. My question for Mr. ****** is, what more would he like to see be done on our end?

I am rejecting this response because: At this time I am not concerned about the financing because it was resolved that day. Still having issues on that end but not part of this dispute. We are still waiting on a response to see if we will be reimbursed for the $627.80 it costs us to repair the trailer. We are asking this be reimbursed on top of compensation for the 2 extra days of hotel we had to cover while trailer was in the shop. We are also asking for reimbursement for the  rental trailer we had to get for the 2 weeks we couldn't use our new trailer while it was being looked for this same issue. Can provide name and # for trailer rental and costs. This has costs us not only time but money as this is how we make our living. This has been a very expensive and stressful investment. We also are wondering why we are charged $500 for a delivery fee when we are the one to driver over 1000 round trip to pick up the trailer. we were told by the warranty man we shouldn't have been charged this also because we drove to location to pick up and it wasn't even a special order trailer. we would like to get this taken care and move on. Thank you for your response and look forward to hearing back asap to get this resolved.

Unfortunately we will not be able to recover any repair costs, as we are not the manufacturer and this is why there is a warranty in place. We have done our service in connecting you to the manufacturer for the warranty information. The manufacturer is who you would need to contact in regards to reimbursements for repairs. We do not manufacture these trailers, we buy them new. The $500 is what we paid in freight costs to get the trailer sent to our Wagoner location, we add the shipping costs to the total of all of our inventory.
