We entered into a contract with Resort Legal Services on August 23, 2022 to get us out of our timeshare. They said we didn't need to execute it right away. We could contact them when we were ready to get out of the timeshare. On June 18, 2024 I sent an email to *** ***** at *** with a question and it came back undeliverable. On Aug 21, 2024 *** ***** contacted me by email inquiring if we were ready to relenquish our time share yet. On Aug 22, 2023 I responded letting him know I was not quite ready. I sent my husbands death certificate and he confirmed that there was not a time limit. On Dec 9th I sent an email to ************************************ No reply from them. On Dec 30th 2024 I contacted ***(no last name) telling her that I wanted to release our Transfer Hold immediately. No reply. I found a phone# for *** ****** ************, called & left a message. I rec'd a text that they missed a call from me about a trade hold taken off. They asked that I send my name and the front page of my contract so she could send it to the office. Never heard another peep. Now when I text that number they tell me they don't know who I am or what I am talking about. The support ************* number do not work. Went to a seminar 2-2-23 and signed a contract w/Resort Legal Service LLC to get us out of our timeshare w/Massanutten Resort(I have been an owner since 2004). We payed them $8000 to get us out of the timeshare ownership. They had until 3-8-25 to complete the process or we were to get our $8000 back!! The last I spoke with ****** at the company was 8-24-24. We are now past the date of guaranteed completion and I have called all of the phone #s I have & they are all disconnected but one. I left a message on that phone (a personal cell of the manager *** that helped us) hoping to get a return call. I called Massanutten also. They have not heard from the company since Aug of 2023. I left a message with the woman in charge of transfers to hopefully get some help from their end. I am also calling CMC Reservation Management, who told me to call them back if we went past the 24 month deadline. I am hoping you all can help. Especially since $8000 is at stake. After paying $5865.00 for their services on May 2022, I was told by their representatives that it could take up to 24 months to get me out of my timeshare contract with Flagship Resort. Up until now the staff has been helpful when I've called for updates. I was hoping they would contact me every so often with an update but that hasn't *********** November 2023, I reached out to them via the phone number ************ for an update and all of a sudden the main line is disconnected. Another number I had for them is also off line and the website is down. Since, that time I have been unable to reach any representative of the company. Of course there is no reply to the email I sent to them nor hear anything from them again. I definitely feel like I'm stuck in a nightmare. I am appealing to BBB to help resolve this issues. We attended a presentation on 3/16/23 The representative told us he was working with ********* owners to cancel their contract or if they couldn't within 24 months, they would take over the timeshare from us. We paid them ******* and submitted all the paperwork to them that they as for. I would keep in contact with ******* both by phone (91 **********) and fax ***********) every month and they would give me excuse to why transfer has not occurred. Last year I received my maintenance fee and question if I should pay or would they and was told I could send payment to them to pay or I, thank goodness something told to send in payment to Massanutten on my own. Now I have received maintenance fee for next year. I have tried to get in connect with the Resort and all the number I had are not working. Now it looks like they are out of business. We are retired people with a limited income. We would like for them to fulfill their contract or return our title and refund my money and cancel the ownership.Customer Answer

We joined Massa Nutten H31353237**3330303733H in ********. We had bought it several years ago and haven**;t used it. Every time we tried to trade it in, we couldn**;t get it. They contacted us and offered their services to us and we would have to come to a meeting. They talked to us about it and it would take up to 2 years and we paid them $5400.00. After half a year, I called them and the original guy we talked to didn**;t work there anymore. They said they are still working on it. Every year we paid our maintenance fees. They said they couldn**;t help us until we paid our maintenance fees. So we paid this year again around $400 - $500 dollars. Now it**;s November and they said by Nov. 29 they are supposed to have it finalized. They sent us a letter saying we need to pay our maintenance fee, we paid it and haven**;t heard from them since. The new number they gave us is not answered by them. I got a response that the message is blocked. The email bounces back to us. Signed a contract for this company to release us from our time shares on 9/1/22. Sent all necessary paperwork, provided all information on time and sent emails. Was told 12/22 to not pay maintenance fees on properties. Had contact with company about once a month from my initial phone calls and did receive email correspondence with my initiation. The last I spoke with the company was 8/23 and was told they were working on the exits and it could take up to 2 years. I've been trying to contact this company via all phone numbers I have, all numbers are disconnected, and I've sent numerous emails, no response. Date of transaction 5/10/2023, $5,457 was paid to company on the promise that they would get rid of our timeshare and all future maintenance fees, further more we were told to not pay our future maintenance fees and that they would be able to get rid of our timeshare before any future maintenance fees came up. We attended a presentation in September of 2022. They told us they would be able to help us get out of our contract, or if they couldn't within 24 months, they would take over the timeshare from us. We paid them $4800 and submitted all the paper work back to them that was asked for.I have taken point on keeping in contact with the company, both by phone and email. In the beginning, they were very good at communicating, but, as of yesterday, in particular, phone # is disconnected, the website has been down for quite a while, and no response to my email.We were told that all our paperwork had been submitted as of October of.2022, but, miraculously, that didn't seem to be the case as of April of this year! The 2 years should have been "up" as of this month; however, once I submitted the paperwork that they claimed hadn't been submitted as of April, and contacted them in July, they said that NOW it had only been 4 months! Bait and switch!!Every time I contacted them prior to April, they said that they had several clients interested in buying our timeshare, but it would be 30 days more. I would call them in 30 days--another excuse as to why transfer had not occurred...again and again and again! If they honestly could not facilitate transfer of our timeshare, they should have been honest and not taken our money!!Customer Answer

Over 2 years ago, I met with representative, ****** ********. He represented the company that would cancel my timeshare contract. They charged $6300 for this service. They requested the title through the timeshare which I sent them on August 29, 2022. It**;s been over 2 years and they have not finalized the contract. I have called over the 2 years several times with promises that it would be taken care of, I did get an email requesting an additional $2500 for the title company which is *************. ************* is located in ********, **. I have continued to pay my maintenance fees and assessments plus I have paid the taxes every year that was required as an owner of my property. Nothing has been done. They appear to be out of business. I believe they are disconnected. Online they are still listed at the same address. They took off and kept my money. I would like for them to return my title to me and refund my money or follow through on their contract and cancel the ********* ownership.
