Long story short: Stay FAR away from any rental property owned and or managed by Gilbert Enterprise, LLC / ****** G **********************/DBA A.O.A Rentals. What happened? 1. Returned back home to my apartment after spending the night at my significant others' residence, and found that both the front and back doors to my apartment had been boarded shut from the *************** locks changed, and door physically screwed shut. With absolutely NO Rhyme, or reason. To be clear: This was done without any type of notice and or court order. In the state of ********, It is illegal for a landlord to evict a tenants without a court order which includes proper court proceedings and due process. A lockout/self-help eviction is strictly prohibited under Missouri law. Local law enforcement was immediately called and notified, landlord still refused to remedy / restore access. I was able to obtain access to my units subsequently a couple days later, and property had been converted / stolen from my unit. For my safety and The safety of both my pets and property, I had to file for an Ex - Parte/ emergency order of protection, which was granted by a judge, against ** **********************.Very dangerous **** ******* behavior was exhibited by ** *********************** and I did not feel safe. We are still in the process of ongoing litigation in court for the illegal actions ** ********************** has taken. .With that said, I would not recommend Gilbert Enterprise for property Management, or as a potential tenants if you are looking for a rental property. Other past experiences, with ** ********************** and Gilbert Enterprise were positive, up until ** ********************** eliminated his office staff and management personnel and took over solely himself. It is heartbreaking that what could have been a great experience with renting, ended up this way for no apparent rhyme or reason. To sum it all up, The landlord/tenant experience with ** ********************** is something that was nothing short of traumatic and distressing.
