My daughter went in to trade in her car for and new/used car. They did so and she was happy with her car, they had to hold her trade in till she got the tiltle to it and gave it to the dealer to comeplete the whole thing since she had to send out a request to get the title. Her new car came into some issues and had to be taken in for service. They stated that the fix would be $5,000 or greater so they told her to just come in and they will get her into something else since it couldn't be resold. They found her something else...for whatever reason that car didn't work out. They gave her a loaner car to use while they waited for something to come up that she was interested in. They also got rid of her trade in before she got the title to them and made her come in and sign a paper stating she gave them *************************************************************************** before they got the title. Now they are telling her 2 days before the Thanksgiving holiday they want the loaner back and all they have for her is this ****** something and she doesn't even like it. She is a first time car buyer.. 23 years old and they are strong arming her to just sign for a car she doesn't want. Now they don't even have her trade in anymore and she's left without a car period...they owe her $500 and let her go somewhere else cause they clearly don't have anything for her. She also states, ******* the numbers guy has been very rude to her.Business Response

I purchased a 2018 jeep latitude in July 2024 a week after I got it, I started having problem, I took it back to the business, when I left they immediately called and told me to come back and pick my car up and stated there was nothing wrong with it, the problem continued, a couple of weeks later, I took it back and they tell me that they can**;t fix it and it was the Rack and Pinion and they still could not do anything else with it. They kept giving me different cars to drive, shortly after I purchased a 2025 ***** Trax was sold to me and add a $1200 warranty that I did not agree to and when I told them to remove it, I was told NO. After the loan was paid off for the **** I was told that I would receive the warranty check in the form of 2 $600 checks for totaling $1200, but when the warranty company paid them they kept it. I am suppose to receive $1411 for the warranty on the jeep, none of this ever happened, along with my ************* for $500 that was also never received.Business Response

Purchased a 2018 Tahoe in August 2022. November 2022, transmission had to be replaced. Several weeks later, the torque converter had to be replaced. Based on my knowledge, torque converter was not replaced at the time of transmission. Since then, transmission had to be replaced a second time. Six torque converters have been replaced. Continue to have the same problems! It is appropriate that Landers replace my vehicle of same, for the amount that I owe.Business Response

****** ****** purchased a 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe with ****** miles on it on 8/4/2022 and the purchase price was $42,850.00 the vehicle now has ******* miles on it. The vehicles unfortunately has been in and out of my service department for the same issue. We have fixed but and replaced 2 transmission and the Torque Converter is in the service department now for its 4th. The torque converter - transmission is still under the manufactures warranty because it was replaced with a new one. The total cost as of today for all items other than this torque converter being replaced as of now is $22,064.82 that has been fixed and replaced under warranty, extended warranty and Good Will from **************. The total out of pocket for the customer is just the deductibles that is $788.69 and the customer is always provided a service loaner at No cost. We absolutely understand the frustration and will help trade the customer out and into another vehicle of her choosing but what is being asked of us is absolutely impossible. The dealer sells used vehicles that are fully inspected to like new mechanically before they are sold and we service many vehicle daily, when a customers brings there vehicle in for any service we fix as efficiently as the manufacture guides us to do so. The customer could ask ************** for help with trade assistants but the customer has to do that with ************** and we will also help as much as we can because of the issues the customer has had. The customer has indicated that she would like a New body style Tahoe which would be a 2021 year model with similar miles as when the customer bought the 2018 Tahoe on 8/4/2022 and only finance $25,000.00 this is not feasible or possible. No dealer is at fault for any manufacture defects, mechanical issues a dealership or independent service departments can only fix vehicles to the best of there ability as vehicle are machines and break.
We are defiantly willing to help as much as we can but asking any dealer or independent service department to loose basically $25,000.00 or more because of mechanical issues over the past 26 months is unfortunately not close to what we are able to do.

I have reviewed the business' response and am rejecting it because:
The $22,000 cost that has been incurred should be the responsibility of the company providing the parts that are obviously bad. Therefore, this cost can be recouped allowing Landers to take that amount off the price of a new vehicle as has been requested originally.
Sincerely,

We are defiantly willing to help a New Tahoe we can take $6,000.00 - $6,500.00 Off MSRP on a in stock vehicle which includes any manufacture rebates and give $1,000.00 - $2,000.00 over fair market value for the Trade. I also would suggest for the customer to reach out to ************** for any assistance in trading because this is clearly a possible mechanical issue with ************** and Not any dealership fault in trying to fix the issue. We did receive a call from ************** to send them all documentation of all services on the Vehicle in question and we have done that. The customer should continue to stay in contact with ************** until they do or do not help the customer and again we will help as I indicated but not for the requested amount.
Thank You

I purchased a vehicle a few days before Halloween from this dealership (my name ***** **** at the time) and got married so my name changed to ***** *******. The truck had the check engine light came on and the shop has had it 3 weeks. I told him to work it in when he could do so. I purchased it as is and paid for their added warranty. I told him at the shop that I added the warranty. The shop said they can file all this. The mechanic checked the sensors and found the whole driver's side frame was rusted out and they could push it with their finger. He deemed it unsafe to drive. I called the dealership this morning and talked to the general manager. He wants me to bring the vehicle in to them and let them look at it. He told me he could refinance me into another vehicle if that was the case and he said they put it through a 150 point inspection. I told him there is no way this would have happened to this truck. The state highway patrol told us they have been in trouble with this before that they told me about. The highway patrolman told us if we found this within the 30 days of this, they could have done something for us.
I would like to get out from underneath this truck and would like for them to put me in a different vehicle and get me into something else.Business Response

I received a call from *** ***** this morning regarding a 2013 Silverado she purchased from ******* 10/27/2022. After our discussion she is going to bring it to my service department to look at her concerns. At this time this response is vague until we inspect the vehicle of the complaint.Business Response

After talking to ****** she agreed to bring it to my service department today 9/6/23 so we can inspect and try to resolve this matter. I am not willing to send anyone to another location and take them away from customer vehicle in my service department. I want to try and help resolve this issue and will, but if customers have issue with vehicles, they purchased here they need to get the vehicle to my service department by any means necessary.
Thank you.

I am rejecting this response because:
I want to get this issue resolved in a timely manner, but with that said I’m also a first responder and I work 24’s and 36’s so this will happen on my time not *******, my time is just as valuable as the next person and I have kids to take care of also. I will look at my schedule and call and schedule a time for the vehicle to be looked at by ******* but it will not be left over night until a resolution has been made between both parties. I will be present during the inspection as well. That’s my right at a consumer who is seeking legal counsel over this matter.

I had my 1978 C10 305 Chevy pick up truck towed in by ******* ********* to the dealership on 1/27/2022. They put a breaker Bar on the front of the crank shaft to turn the motor over. They stated that the motor had a cracked cylinder block, cylinder head, and blown out head gasket. You have to take the head off the motor that has 17 bolts in order to determine if the cylinder block and cylinder head was cracked, and to determine if the gasket is bad. They didn't diagnosis the job right, and I know this because I put ultra violet ink on all the bolt, and the bolts are still as tight as they are suppose to be, the bolts have not been touched because the ink is still the same when you shine the light on them so that is a indication that the bolts have not been removed. Also the carburetor was never taken off it still has the original tap screws. You need a Allan keys set. I want a account of everything the dealership did to my truck while it was there.Business Response

The vehicle came in from a insurance company to diagnose the engine. The first thing was to attempt to turn engine over at the crank bolt with wrench the engine would turn over. This is easiest and most cost effective way to determine if the engine is blown on older vehicle engine like this 1978. The insurance company was contacted and asked if they wanted us to break it down to verify. The insurance company said that was all they needed because the engine seized up.
Thank you

I purchased a vehicle from ********** with lifetime oil changes, I also purchased lifetime tires. I went for oil changes and maintenence issues as needed with no problems.
Landers took over and the first couple of times I went for oil changes and tire issues there were no issues. The last time I went for a service I was told that the next time I came for an oil change I would need to bring my purchase paperwork as they had no records of who had lifetime oil changes. I was also told that they were doing away with the lifetime tire plan as well. I would need to purchase three more tires before I could get a free set and that I should do it quickly as they would soon not offer it anymore. I asked why it was that they had record of my tire purchases but not my lifetime oil paperwork, the man said he did not know.
I went home and grabbed all the paperwork out of my glove box as that us where I kept it. All of the paperwork they asked for was gone. I started recieving emails from them saying they wanted to buy my car back. I declined and asked them to just honor our contract. That was two years ago and I still have heard nothing from them. I am also not getting reminders that I am due for oil.changes anymore.Business Response

unfortunately sense purchasing ********** Chevrolet October 2018 we have slowly been informing ********** customers that there Oil changes, Tires and Engine was not under any service contract. The cost has of these free items that ********** gave has come at the dealership cost and is not reimbursed by any 3rd party warranty or maintenance package that the consumer purchased. Landers did not give these items and should not have to burden with the cost from a previous business that is no longer in existence.
Thank you

On 4/19/22, I traded in 2017 Chevy High County pickup and I purchased 2021 Chevrolet Equinox Premier. I have not received the correct paperwork to title my vehicle. They are not helpful and I have made numerous trips out there to no avail.Business Response
Date: 09/27/2022
The purchased date for this unit was on 4/16/22. We mailed
Paperwork to the customer on 4/28/22. And the customer registered the vehicle.
The POA that we gave to the customer was signed in the wrong place and
the state of MO put the title registered to the ****** in rejection on
7/5/22.
The state of MO letter of rejection reached the
dealership on July 26 a new POA was sent to the state of MO Rejection
Dept to clear the title.
Then the State of MO made an error and printed a
Missouri title in the previous customers name not the new purchaser name
. This was not the dealerships error. When I received the incorrect Missouri
title that was printed in error I immediately called the state and they had to
research this. It took over a week for the state to call me back. The rejection
dept called me on Sept 21 and I overnighted all the documents and the revoked
MO title to our title service that same day. The state of MO website show this
title was printed on 9/23/22.I hope this helps clear Landers Chevrolet and that we have not stopped helping the customer get this issue fixed from the State fixed.
Thank You
