I hired this company to move my pool table, trusting their claim of 26 years of experience. The service included disassembling the table in ********, **, transporting it, and reassembling it in *******, **. Unfortunately, the experience has been deeply disappointing. When they removed the felt and disassembled the table, they broke a backing board and damaged the slate, which they claimed was already cracked. This table was purchased new and has only had 10 games played on it. It had never been moved, so their claim that the slate was previously cracked is highly questionable.Given their experience, they should have noticed any pre-existing damage when removing the felt, yet the slate was in multiple pieces after they removed the bolts. I believe this damage occurred during their handling. They initially agreed to repair the table and deliver it to ******* by 12/4/2024, but they demanded $475 for the disassembly. I paid $400 upfront, with the agreement that the rest would be paid after reassembly. Now they are demanding additional repair costs, which were not part of the original ************ resolution request is simple: I want a full refund of the $400 and the return of my pool table.

I want to start off by saying that this has all got out of hand. When we arrived to pick this table up for **** from OFallon and take it to *******. We went downstairs and started taking the table apart after talking with ****. My employee started carrying the rails to the trailer, which is enclosed, and **** ran after him yelling no no no the tables going in my trailer because I dont know you from *** and you could drive off with it. That is exactly how our job started.

We proceeded to take off, taking pictures of all the damage to the table prior to us Removing the slates, damage to the wood backing Boards was already evident because the previous installer had stapled the felt to the underside of the backing board instead of on the side of the backing board because it was missing. Those photos are attached.
Once we Got to the Slate we then removed the slate screws that hold the slate to the table. Once the screws were removed, we slid out both end pieces away from the middle Piece because that are the two pieces we start to load into the trailer first. Once there was no noticeable damage to the two pieces of slate, we then slid the middle piece of slate to decide and noticed the crack in the slate, which was a long a vein that was in the material. We called **** down to the basement to show him the broken slate in which I then showed him the impact **** where the slate mustve been set down with force or dropped . He then proceeded to tell me that it could be fixed with epoxy and that he would fix it. So discussing this old situation, we then came to the conclusion that the backing boards had to be glued back on also. So **** then told us to take Slate with us and fix the backing boards and the Slate. he asked me if I could fix this. Slate and I told him yes because Ive done it numerous times. But this is the first time someone has expected to have the slate fixed at no cost to them.

Slate was outside and we continued to take the frame out to his trailer where he wanted it loaded and then he suddenly told us no go ahead and take the table in your trailer because I dont have the room.. We informed **** that he would owe for the pick up and loading of the table. He then made the re**** that he would give me $300. Trying to set his own rate I then told him that I would take 400 and then he stated that he would pay the remaining balance once the table was delivered and set up.
he then Handed $400 Cash and my wife sent him a receipt for it. We were scheduled to deliver the table today on 12/4 But I notified **** that the epoxy wasnt holding, and that I put another layer of epoxy on, and I would let him know later on that day if it worked. Because instead of letting me fix this, Slate, how it shouldve been fixed he Insisted that I use epoxy. I then got a message from him shortly after stating that he just wanted to pick the table up on Thursday. I told him that he is more than welcome to pick the table up once he pays the remaining balance of the disassemble and load which was 475 with the remaining balance of $75 for that part And the cost of the repairs and the gluing the backing boards. My wife called him and he told **** that he was not paying another *****, and that we would be hearing from his lawyer.
