We rented a vehicle for a family road trip and included the toll pass. The rental agent at the counter assured me the toll pass would cover all tolls to our planned destination. I was disappointed to receive further billing for a toll that supposedly was not covered in the toll pass. This billing included multiple fees assess, one for $25 (citation fee) and one for $46.59 (quality services??) which was automatically charged to my credit card. After multiple rounds of discussing these fees with their customer service, being transferred to different departments, disconnected, told I would have a refund etc. I gave in and paid the toll of $16.50 and the $25 fee. I did this because they sent multiple emails telling me they would suspend my rental privileges if I did not pay. I travel for work occasionally and I will now go out of my way to find another rental service based on the handling of the issue and run around I got. Also note the vehicle was untidy when picked up but we let that go.

I did everything beforehand to make my life easier. I booked in advance. I prepaid. I filled out all the documents so I could just get into my car and drive away. So good on them for having those options available. I would've waited 10 minutes if it meant I wasn't charged double! They told me I would SAVE money my paying ahead. THEN THEY WENT AHEAD AND CHARGED ME WHEN I BOOKED AND THEN AGAIN WHEN I RETURNED THE **** What a joke. "Saved" 10%, only to pay 200%.

Alamo says they didnt charge my card, my bank says otherwise. Alamo refuses to give me my money back so my bank had to dispute the transaction.

I had nothing but a great experience with Alamo. ********************************* in ********* ********* got me set up in a nice car that I picked up in ********* when I landed. ****** met me at the pick up location and was very enthusiastic showing me all the details of the car. Thank you for making my trip easier!

Incompetent employees. I reserved an Alamo Standard SUV from ****** Travel for 13 days, for pickup at the ********* International Airport. Our flight arrived around 10:00 PM and the airport was relatively vacant. The two men at the Alamo lot were pleasant and were just sitting around chatting. But they were (1.) unable to find the correct keys to the vehicle(s). The first three vehicles they tried did not have keys/fobs which worked. (2.) The exterior windows were all filthy! They were just sitting around; is this a Union thing that they can't clean the windows? (3.) On the last day of our two-week trip I discovered there was no spare tire! My fault for not checking when the car was picked up. After all of the airport fees, refueling and taxes, I paid $1360 for a nice Volkswagon Atlas. Good price. But cheaper is not better. Alamo losers.

      To whom it may concern,
My name is **** ****** and I have vigorously been fighting the accusation that I lost a key to a rented truck in October of 2022 @ PSP International Airport. I have contacted the Airport Agency on multiple occasions without a response. I have spoken to Customer Service agents who have said on multiple occasions that they will have the PSP agency contact me or they will have a Supervisor Their customer service agents are courteous but definitely have the spiel down and assured me that they were expediting me on the list and someone would contact me. Still nothing from anyone. I was charged for a key that I allegedly lost to a vehicle except I was only given one key. I was in Palm Springs ALONE visiting my 94 year old grandmother who was hospitalized. I returned the vehicle with the key because while exiting the vehicle the female lot agent climbed in the truck and checked the fuel level. How can I be charged for a lost key that I was never issued. I have tried to contact Alamo many times and keep getting either no response or agents telling me I will get a call back. I disputed the charge with ******** only to have Alamo show proof that (I rented the vehicle) and therefore ******** would no longer dispute. Yes, I rented the vehicle and was issued a key. If I owed the money or did something to warrant this charge I would have no problem paying it. I did nothing wrong (except rent from Alamo) and yet I’m charged $279 for a key. Why not a single call back? The topper is the truck was so basic it didn’t need an extra key or a fob. The key was needed to unlock the door manually. The windows were manual as well. I’m beyond frustrated not only by the charge but the lack of courtesy as well as absolutely no follow through. Looking in my phone I have made over a dozen calls on this with a multitude of excuses given and a lot of lip service. All talk and no action! This is the worst customer service experience that I have had!

Alamo/******* is a joke. I rented a car over the holidays. It was junk. I planned to drive to Ponte Vedra, only to have the car begin to break down about half way there. i phoned Alamo and was told the closest place I could trade it in was the Jax Airport. I was able to nurse the car to Ponte Vedra (it would only go 50 mph) and then called Alamo again to have them come pick it up. Alamo told me if I could get it to Jax Airport I could just drop it there, which is what I did. They then charged me an extra $200 fee to drop it off at Jax instead of returning it to Orlando on top of the daily charges I had agreed to. I will never use Alamo again.

I rented a car from Alamo for 4 days through ********* was $132 plus the $40 for collision insurance, through AARP. On the original receipt it says the fee for an extra day is $30. I kept it an extra day so I was expecting about $175. The daily rate I was paying was $31 a day so even if they mean the $30 is an extra fee on top of the daily rate that would still only be $206. I was charged $755. I was never sent a final invoice like every other company does when you bring the car back. Ive had to rent cars for the last 3 weeks while waiting for my insurance to pay out for my totaled personal vehicle. Its hard to predict how long it will take for them to pay out so I have had to extend reservations several times. At other companies Ive been charged around $100 extra for each day. Every time Ive brought a car back Ive immediately gotten an email with the final invoice breaking down all the charges. But not with Alamo. I called them when I saw they had charged me $755 & the customer service agent I spoke with told me that I would definitely be getting a refund for $580 in 3 business days. On the 4th business day I had still not received a refund. I called customer service again & the agent told me the refund was never approved & the total is accurate. I asked her why it says the fee for an extra day is $30 if they actually charge $623 & her response was well you booked through Expedia. So if you book through a 3rd party you get charged 20x the normal amount? I asked if there was any way for me to escalate this to dispute it because thats absurd. I have never heard of a company charging $623 for keeping a rental 1 extra day. She said no but did send me the final invoice. My credit card only has a $500 limit so it ******** the account which Im sure will affect my score negatively. Any other company will charge you a reasonable fee for needing to extend your reservation but Alamo will charge you 5x what you were initially supposed to pay. Beware.

My worst car rental experience. Rented a car though ****** ****** in alamo. Once i reached the houston airport /alamo counter, I was redirected to ******** *** ******. I have pre-registered and got confirmation number. I was told to skip the counter and proceed to the lot to pick up the car. But to my surprise they did not any car in the lot. Car are being bought the lots 1 by 1. I had to wait on the side for more than 15 minutes. Meanwhile they serviced more than 10 customers who came behind me. When I question the manager about the process, he response was that SUV / high paying customers. And I have rented a compact car. And that i should go and rent from some where else. Had to rent from avis in the last minute for the full price (634$) instead of the ****** price (380$). My worst experience.

I made a reservation on Feb 27 for a March 17 pickup at noon and Alamo was well over one hour late getting the car to me. Their people did not seem to be in any hurry to get the car to me.
