I bought a Subaru Forester from them in the summer of 2024, reassured that this vehicle had been inspected in and out. **** wouldn't even take $50 off the price. Way before I hit ***** miles I noticed a terrible oil smell and I was going through 5 quarts of oil before my first oil change. I brought it to them for my first oil change (before the milage was due) and they told me they didn't see any leaks and there were no problems. I continued to experience oil burning/smell and brought it to them again. The mechanic told me that there were no issues with the vehicle after supposedly looking at it. I expressed that I was unhappy and wanted to talk to the owner when he returned. The secretary refused to let me hold or take a picture of the diagnostic report because "it wasn't my car." She said this because I mentioned wanting the business to buy the vehicle back. I brought my car to three other mechanics all of which told me there was a leak and that no vehicle should be burning that much oil- They all also told me that this issue had to of been present before buying the vehicle since I immediately noticed the oil issue. I tracked this information then left my car with the owner to drive around for two days. He then admitted to the car having a valve cover leak and estimated it for $782. This was literally right after the ***** mile warranty expired, which he knew. I brought it to my local mechanic and paid less than $350 both valve covers to be replaced. I was burning on average 5 quarts of oil until that issue was resolved. To note, I keep up with oil changes and had to add the additional 4-7 quarts on top of it. I fixed it immediately after **** told me about the valve covers, after the warranty expired. But again, before the first ***** miles I had reported the oil problem and brought it to them.

My wife’s alternator went out. I took it to the shop because it was right next to my apartment. They called me on the phone after doing the 140 diagnostic to tell me it needed a new battery, alternator, and was “way overdue” for an oil change. It was just over 3000 miles since the last oil change, which was full synthetic. Toyota recommends 10000 mile intervals and most mechanics will recommend 6-8k with full synthetic. The brand new battery was completely shot, and it needed a new alternator. The quote was for 1500 dollars.
I went to the shop to ask about it, they told me the battery was internally shorted. ******** and my other mechanic both tested it and say it’s fine. They wanted to charge 400 dollars for a battery replacement which is absurd.
For a remanufactured alternator, they were charging over 400 dollars, just for the part. At ******** you can’t find one for more than 230.
This should’ve been a 500-700 job and they are charging double to triple that. They also lied to me about properly testing the battery and charging 100 for an oil change far more frequently than is necessary. Once they started the repair, I’m sure they would’ve found faulty pulleys and changed those out as well for a premium profit.

After I wrote the above on a ****** review, they accused me of only being upset that they “caught me working on my car in their lot.” It was a Sunday, the only day I had to make the repair. They were closed and I didn’t want to move the car before paying for the diagnostic. It was on the very edge of their lot, so close to the road I wasn’t even sure if it was their property or not. They approached me. I introduced myself, explained my situation, and asked if I could pay and move the car to finish the repair. They agreed. Both parties were friendly about it. They know this has nothing to do with my review. In fact the way they handled this and overall how friendly the are was a positive of my experience. However, they are still scamming people.
