On 9/6/2023 I hired Stange Law for a custody / divorce. I paid $2300. The attorney assigned to the case went to court for a total of a half hour. The attorney was unavailable 98% of the time. Around 9/24/23 the attorney ***************************** called my step dad to inform him that he quit working for Stange Law and would like for us to continue to have him as our attorney. We contacted Stange Law that Monday to see what the plan of action was. They informed us that they would have another attorney from *********** contact us. At this time they charged the card on file another $2469.50. We informed them that we would no longer need their assistance in this matter. They had us send them in writing we would no longer need their services and we would get reimbursed. Since then we have not received the money back but they are still billing us for services that have not been used. The last charge was as recent as 1/16/2024.Business Response

I hired this firm to find out if my mentally handicapped brother who was taken without permission from another state was alive or dead and to help me bring my mother's ashes home for burial where her headstone already exist next to my father. Neither of these was accomplished. I was told by the attorney that the other attorney and the judge held hearings without me or her, and no transcript exits, and ruled that I must provide extreme levels of personal identifiable information on myself and my adult children including years of phone records. I was billed for documents that I never saw but were filed in my case. I have called and emailed repeatedly requesting to know what the documents state but no one will respond. The one time that I spoke to a customer care person, I was informed that I would have to pay a lot of additional money to know what the documents say.Business Response

Starting in May of 2023, I retained ***********************/Stange Law in ***** ********. The process was slow & I found myself reaching out & having to ask questions on where we are with the process the whole time. Each time, of course, I was charged. I sent documents, photos and correspondence only to have no response to these, just that the firm added them to evidence and billed for this. The portal that was set up is such that you can't pull the filed documents from the attorney and if you ask to see what has been filed, you are charged again. Anything that is filed with the court should be cc'd to the client. Soon after the first month, my husband and I had a court hearing, my attorney did nothing to convince the judge of 2 items that were discussed. Why my husband can use an attorney for our divorce that is still representing my husband and I's LLC? Why I can't receive temp possession of our home? **************** researched time after time & billed an exorbitant amount of money to not be able to figure out only these 2 items. I lost on both items at our first hearing. Even though my husband had left our home weeks prior to the first hearing, never knew where he was & didn't return until he was granted temp possession. **************** did nothing to convince the judge to let me stay. **************** only told the judge that I would pay the full mortgage (which he NEVER discussed with me prior) and he said no. He brought another attorney with, never introduced us and charged me for his services (which was none) as well. Then wks after the hearing, I had to call to see what time I had to be out of my home. He didn't even share this with me & so when I asked for the courts filing, he charged me again! Now **************** isn't with Stange. I want an adjustment in my billing! I also reported incidents 3 separate times with the firm & 2 phone calls with NO response. I also made an offer to my husband to settle with a deadline which wasn't met & I had to call & was ************************* .Business Response

I hired ***** ******* as a divorce attorney, during the short time of his hiring, he was in touch with my wife and allowing to charge time towards my balance. During this time I ask that he not speak with her dur to her saying she had a attorney, and that she was giving him false allegations.
After that he lied to me about the agreement on date for filing, as well as lied to me about billing. He keeps trying to charge me for agreements that he said he wouldn't have to charge for.
He then quite returning my calls. And would not provide Me with any information that I needed. My wife at the time was making sudden commtes of suicide, I requested him to call me asap so I could try to protect my kids. Buy the time he even replied I had already taken the issues in to my own hands and had the police involved.
I fired him and have been trying to get the billing adjusted to what was agreed upon, bug now I'm not getting any responses back and have asked for help several times.Business Response

I retained Stange Law Firm and have paid them thousands of dollars even though I was left to submit my own evidence and witnesses. ****** ****** ***** was annoyed that he had to "chase" down witnesses even though that is his literal job. I have not worked with them in months yet they are still collecting payments from my credit card. I am still waiting for them the refund my money from the trust. They did not tell me I would be working with this attorney until my deposit was made but this attorney has terrible reviews online. They know that he is predatory to his clients but I believe the culture of Stange Law Firm is to treat their own clients like walking ATMs. I would like the money from the trust returned and I would like **** ***** to stop pretending he is a lawyer when he doesn't want to do the work.Business Response
