      Never received a phone call, text, email, or mail. They know where we live and could have left a door card. No they just shut off the gas. We are new customers and received bill in the mail for the first two months then the bills stopped coming for three months and we did not make a payment in error. They could have called us or emailed or texted by phone. Instead they wasted the Service Man's time and had him turn off our gas and wasted his time by coming back to turn gas back on. Very POOR BUSINESS PRACTICE. Credit card companies will call their customers to request missed payments.. This was lost Revenue for Spire's investors. This is bad service and extra spending for the Labor cost to the Service member to have to come out and shut off and then return to restart.

      The WORST customer service I have ever received. Just because gas is something we have to have , doesnt mean spire should do whatever they want. I can not believe the wait times for service to be turned on and everything. Spire treats you like a pay check and will slowly help you when they feel the need to.

      If you are a spire customer and are enrolled in auto pay, I would pay close attention to your account and your bank statements. Spire charged me twice then the accounting/cashiers department went back and doctored my account to make it look like that did not happen. I have sent in bank statements to their customer service showing I paid 13 times in 12 months while never missing a payment and refused to credit my account

      November 15th Spire dispatched a technician to my address for an all day appointment which meant from 7am to 7pm.That is a ridiculous timeframe for anyone that is employed so I asked for at least a ***** mins heads up so that I could meet him at the location. The technician just simply lied and told his employer that he gave me that call and left a missed appointment note on my door leaving me and my family without service for the entire weekend and proceeded to stall the appointment for the following week even after repeated calls and inquiries to the company.

      Spire is denying me service because the previous tenant racked up ******* in debt to them. I have debt to them ****** dollars and was trying to get the gas turned on in this place new to me. My dryer is gas my stove is gas and my heat is gas and these people assume me to pay someone elses debt. This is horse s*** I see why peoples houses catch fire from space heaters.

      This is a response to their response (****** *. 10/16). If you read what they've written, nowhere do they say that they informed me that they'd be coming on a particular day. Instead they mention that they requested me to schedule an appointment. There was no communication telling me that they would show up on X day at Y time. IF YOU KNOW HOW TO EMAIL ME TO TELL ME MY GAS HAS BEEN TURNED OFF, YOU KNOW HOW TO EMAIL ME TO TELL ME YOU ARE COMING. They chose not to.

      They came to my home, unannounced, and since I was not home and they could not upgrade my meter, they TURNED OFF my gas. And are requiring me to call their customer service number to schedule an appointment for the meter upgrade AND turning my gas back on! I was not informed that they were coming today. And they informed me that they were turning my gas off via an email! I'm at work in a meeting until after 5pm. I guess I just don't get to COOK tonight! Or take a SHOWER with hot water?

      On September 3rd an automated call was made to the customer advising him to call us to schedule a meter exchange. On September 4th, we mailed a letter to the customer advising to contact us to schedule an appointment for meter exchange. We did not hear back after either of these communications. On October 15th a technician went out and the customer was not home, the technician had no access to the meter since it was on the inside, the technician turned off the gas, and left a doortag advising to call us to come out an exchange meter and reconnect service. On today, October 16th gas is schedule to be reconnected after meter change.

      Have set automatic payments up multiple times. Then get hit with huge bills as they terminate service. Pay the account balance and still owe over $200 when the itemized bill shows $48.

      This has to be one of the worst utility companies and it’s a crime they are still in business and able to operate the way that they do.

      They are a primary utility company and are allowed to treat people rudely and offer no payment options. How is how they operate still legal?? Why is no one doing anything about this?

      Does really no one care who is supposed to fix these?

      Crooked, NO customer service! Got the new "smart meter" and showed I was being billed for gas I wasn't using. Spire lowered my bill for the previous 4 months slightly. (feb. thru may). Now they are saying I am using 2.5x more gas then when I was in the coldest months of the year. I was gone for 8 days in the month of July, so no gas was being used, but my bill shows only 1 unit difference from the previous month?!?! Math doesn't add up!!
      problem is NO-ONE there can explain why they admit I was using less gas and was credited in jan-feb and now I'm using more gas (with fewer appliances using gas) in a hot month.
      2 people, 1 shower each per day. during summer we don't use the oven, we use the cook top VERY little, we cook on outdoor grille (propane).
      winter time we use stove/oven 85% of the time + our heat is gas.
      just want answers, but no one there can explain it.
      They said someone would call to schedule a time to vome check the appliances and meter. tech calls me out of the vlue and says "I'll be there in 10 minutes"! I asked who was going to pay me for leaving work?? of course he said everything was working fine, meter is accurate, past tech must of been wrong (even tho the company credited my account for 4 months) and said my yard gas lantern must be the issue!?!? it's only been burning for the past 25 years, 7/24/365.
      total crooked company!
