      AWFUL customer support. We ordered a bear as a gift and they sent the completely wrong item, now telling us the item we PAID 160$ FOR IS OUT OF STOCK. we are now RESPONSIBLE FOR TAKING BACK THE WRONG ITEM and are left with nothing. 15$ for shipping and 137$ for a gift and you guys cant even fulfill it right. now the customer is responsible is so stupid. also, no american works in the build a bear customer service department. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. build a bear just lost another customer.

      Ordered black Friday door ******* Two gingerbread frogs, limited edition, and managed to get free shipping (I live in ****** and that isn't normally offered to us). I never order from them online because of this. I emailed about adding something to the order, after I received my receipt and charge to my card. They emailed me back saying it was a "failed" order (which makes no sense considering they gave me a receipt and charged me just fine.) and were giving me a refund.A refund does not make the frogs available anymore.A refund doesn't make the frogs the sake price anymore.A refund doesn't give me the free shipping we never get.They claim a failed order when its just them not wanting to fulfill all orders because they probably sold more than they made and decided to cut off certain customers.This is a horrible practice. I've never complained on BBB, I'm usually the first to make excuses for people and companies, but build a bear has changed that for me.

      Ordered a bear with accessories on 7/22/2023. When I placed the order, the website said I would have the order on Aug. 1 or Aug. 2. On 7/29, a full week later, I still had nothing new about the order. Finally on 7/30, they said the order shipped but ***** showed that the label had only been created and they didnt have the package yet. On 7/31, I finally got a notice from ***** (because I signed up for notifications) that the package would arrive on Aug. 6, which is four days AFTER the date of my friends birthday. I have been emailing Build A Bear, and while they did write back twice with pretty scripted emails that were not helpful at all, they did not respond to my last two emails where I expressed how disappointed I was. Their 100% satisfaction guarantee is a total joke and they truly do not care about their customers at all.

      I was wanting to get my niece a bear with a recording of her dad's last voicmail to her before he passed away, little to find out they can't record it Because it's in Spanish! I don't understand why they can't record a message just because the recording is in a different language. I would not of bought a 75 dollar stuffed animal if I knew they wouldn't be able to record a simple beautiful message just because it isn't in English??

      Id give it 0 stars if I could. Their customer service is awful! Yesterday I purchased a bear that they released for a Sanrio character. I buy quite frequently from them and have never had an issue with not having the economy option. Other people were complaining about only having the ***** option for shipping and no cheaper option. Today they changed it so you could do economy shipping (presumably because so many people complained). Now they are not offering any sort of refunds for the people they overcharged for shipping. Only offering apologies and routing your complaint to make it better.

      We purchased a special edition ********* bear while in *** at FAO *******. The location never received the display boxes that comes with them, so I needed to contact "guest services." First I tried by phone and the results seemed seamless until we got disconnected for some reason towards end and even though I already gave them my email, address, and phone number, no follow up, no resolution. So I called again but the wait time was ridiculous and I began emailing instead. I'm not exaggerating, over 9 emails within a weeks time (all from different people every time I would email back). Each time asking me for the receipt that I already sent previously, and each time I email the receipt AGAIN, they say the item isn't on the receipt. I actually highlighted and circled the item line before sending the attachment! They would either lie that they don't see the item or they would act ignorant and ask if that's the only box I'm missing even though I made it clear over and over again that was the only thing I'm missing and then they would do nothing anyway. Case#******** spoke with ***** just now, seems like he just helped me on the phone. Waiting to see if I actually receive the display box in the mail. The stuffed animals are low quality, cheaply made, the boxes fall apart easily, the prices are exorbitant, and customer service is outsourced to boot? At least provide good customer care. To reiterate: As a customer, I'm supposed to not only pay high prices for low quality goods, not get everything I paid for, then get poor service too? We're not costumers anymore, we're hogs being farmed.

      BS company! Try to make a party reservation and they lose the reservation and do not honor the confirmation of the party! Go somewhere else for kids parties! Would not recommend to not even a grandmother!

      They choose and happily charge for shipping but when the Carrier Fed Ex clearly goofs the order they make you open a claim with the carrier. Moving forward will buy baby clothes for the bear I bought my mother in the care facility. How are you not embarrassed Build a Bear?

      Absolutely horrendous. Do not recommend at all. **************** is horrible, they shipped me everything except my bear. Then told me I was going to have to come up to the store to get the problem resolved instead of just shipping me the correct order. One of the worst experiences Ive had in customer service.

      Very ************************** Between Chat and Calling in. I was givin the run around. I have been trying to get help for two weeks. Their only solution is wait two more days and try again. Not to mention the **************** number I can not understand any of them. I am all for people working. But if you can not speak the english language you should not be on the phone attempting to help clients. Its very flustering. Then to get no help at all. I am going to have a very disappointed 5 yr old come their birthday. As the only thing they have been asking for is an online only purchase. Build-A-Bear should be ashamed of themselves. I was told well there is no other company that does this so good luck finding a different store.
