Carshield has denied the claim to the transmission on my car stating that it is a preexisting problem. It is NOT. The adjuster that was handling my claim would not hear out the shop (the ***** dealership that I have taken my car to for years) as they tried explaing that this is not a preexisting problem. This is something new that has never been addressed and was not caused by any other issue from previous service. When I brought my car in according to the records that carshield requested from *****, my car was at 100,000 miles and it was due to a ***** service bulletin that was addressed that has NOTHING to do with the transmission failure code that my car is now giving at 130,000 miles and it has not caused the current transmission failure that the code is giving. Per *****’s service bulletin(s/b 17-014) pertaining to the judder that was on the vehicle does not in any way effect the transmission the judder is a symptom of fluid deterioration. It states in that bulletin that it DOES NOT cause any transmission failure. With the judder bulletin being performed the fluid still has a clean appearance with no abnormal smell. The current issue with the vehicle is between 1-2000 RPM’s the vehicle is jerking and the transmission failure light is on. The fluid is burnt. As per *****’s troubleshooting diagram with the code of P0741 is to check the fluid is contaminated or dirty/burnt the flowchart shows the next step is the transmission replacement. ***** has confirmed the fluid is burnt and has a dark appearance. Car shield needs to make this make this right and uphold their end of the bargain so that I can get my car fixed!Business Response

Carshield denied CLAIM as well as they denied car rental while my my insured vehicle was broke. They are BIG fraud, they just siphoned off money from me over a year and when time came for claim yesterday they outright turned down. Looking for REFUND. I asked them to cancel my policy.Business Response

As noted on the first three pages of your vehicle service contract, ******** **** ****** (***) is the administrator of your vehicle service contract and has FULL authority over repair procedures, approvals, denials and payments. Your claim was reviewed by the Legal Claims Director for ***, an ASE-Certified Master Mechanic, who determined the claim had been adjudicated correctly and in accordance with the terms of the contract. There were multiple things called in but they were all maintenance items and or not listed for coverage under the contract. The maintenance items were air filters, trans fluid service, brake fluid service, brake pads front and rear, battery replace. Your repair facility did recommend a oil pump reseal but did not report any failures with that just doing it as a maintenance item. There is no actual maintenance item for that from the manufacturer and if there was a failure your repair facility could call that in and it would be addressed per the terms of the contract. Since there is no reported failed parts just a recommendation due to the age of the vehicle that is not covered.
Rental is only covered with an authorized claim. Since there was no covered items called in there was no authorization that would qualify for rental.
We see that you cancelled your contract on 9/8/22. As a courtesy, CarShield will refund your last 6 payments upon execution of a Settlement and Release Agreement. Please email ****************** to confirm the cancellation and refund. Once we receive the email, we will draft the Agreement and email it to you for your review and signature. Purchased a vehicle extended warranty through CarShield on 9/15/21 for a ** **** ****. Engine went out on vehicle around first of July 2022. Took to local **** dealer for repair and was told engine needed replacement. I knew I had made a mistake purchasing from CarShield when I told service manager who my warranty provider was and he said that he’d had trouble in the past dealing with the company. CarShield asked for various information which he provided but CarShield never came through on payment for claim. I even called several times myself but always felt like I was getting the run around and never any answers. They even claimed that who they were talking to at the dealership was on vacation. Which after talking to service department at **** dealer, I discovered wasn’t true. I called to cancel coverage and the lady I talked to at CarShield talked like I would possibly be eligible for a refund. I called several times concerning this and finally was told that I wouldn’t be receiving any refund. So I basically paid CarShield close to $1000 and didn’t receive anything for it when I needed it. Would definitely not recommend this company or any extended warranty to anyone in the future.Business Response

I opened this account a couple of years ago. They told me everything is covered. My car repair place said they had 14 different customers at their shop and only 2 people were approved. I took my car to the repair shop and the engine is blown. Carshield has denied my claim.Business Response

As noted on the first three pages of your vehicle service contract, ******** **** ****** (***) is the administrator of your vehicle service contract and has FULL authority over repair procedures, approvals, denials and payments. We have contacted them to obtain information on the repair claim you have referenced. Per their notes, You had your vehicle towed from the side of the road on 8/24/22. Your claim was started by your repair facility on 9/7/22 for confirmed head gasket failure. Your repair facility stated on the call that coolant/oil intermix was found immediately and cause of failure was due to overheat condition. This signals vehicle was driven to failure with warning lights present and shows clear continued operation per terms of the contract. Continued Operation is specifically excluded from coverage in Section D-2-M of your contract which we have attached for your convenience.

My vehicle has been at a repair facility since 3/21/22. On 3/20/22 i parked my car at my house about 5am after getting off from my overnight shift at ******** I observed the car was slightly louder on my way home, but with it being 5am and me working a 10 hr shift I figured it was just cause it was a cold ********* needed to make it home. There was no evidence of engine failure, no lights or anything. The next day when attempting to start the car it would not crank. I then called them to have it towed to the shop. *** provided more then enough information thats been requested, theyve asked for the same documents over & over Ive submitted them with extra maintenance records to further prove the vehicle was up to date on maintenance & taken care of since I purchased the car last June. Since 3/21/22, Carshield has prolonged the entire process by requesting the same information, & the same tests to be ran several times over & over. Each time I speak with them they would provide me with information to portray that the repair facility was not complying until eventually me & the repair facility came to an understanding that were basically being played. Ive paid carshield $129.99 monthly while the car sits. I had to authorize a tear down of my engine for leak down tests to be ran & observations to be made. The repair facility to my knowledge performed 4 separate leak down tests cause of carshield. They continued to give us the run around & request information weve already provided & ask for tests results they already had that I knew cause I submitted myself to assure it was being done. The cause of engine failure (timing chain) was determined on the 1st test back in late April. On 8/22 after consistently calling & leaving messages, I was informed they would only cover $800 of the $8000 bill cause i didnt pull over & check the sound. They also said it was a new claim, til I proved Ive been a customer ov a year & missed 1 payment causing a new contract to start.Business Response

As noted on the first three pages of your vehicle service contract, ******************** (AAS) is the administrator of your vehicle service contract and has FULL authority over repair procedures, approvals, denials and payments. We have contacted them to obtain information on the repair claim you have referenced. By your own admittance in your complaint and in a statement from you to an AAS representative on 8/09/22, you were experiencing engine concerns on your way home from work the day before it was towed into your repair facility and you figured you just needed to get it home. The next morning the vehicle would not start. This in and of itself is continued operation. The failure was identified as a timing failure which resulted in his engine seizing according to our reports from your repair facility. AAS reviewed the photos send in by your repair facility and there are sparse photos of the valve train but nothing the actually pinpoints any solid proof.
AAS has authorized $869.59 towards your claim . If you wish to void the authorization and receive a full refund, CarShield would require your signature on a Settlement and Release Agreement. Please email ******************************* if you wish to void the authorization and receive a full refund on your payments. We will draft the Agreement and email it to you for your electronic signature.
If you have any additional concerns regarding this repair claim, you may contact ******************** directly at ************. As your service contract administrator and the obligated party under the contract terms, they will be happy to assist you with any repair claim related concerns you may still have.

In May car was taken to a shop that CarShield referred us to. Two weeks later we was informed that the car had a bad head gasket. CarShield told us that the head gasket was cover. A couple days later we were informed that we would need to pay for the breakdown of the engine. So, they can send a adjustor out to see if the motor was ran without oil. ********* *** **** was asking for 3,500 dollars to breakdown the engine. I called CarShield to see if they would refund our money back for the breakdown of the engine. They said No. I explained to them that breakdown is apart of the Repair. So, we why do we need to pay for the breakdown. They said it was part of the plan. I informed them that we never got a contract. But we was told we only had a 100 deductible. But now CarShield want us to pay 3500.Business Response

I have had carshield for about 2 years. I have had issues with my car; the engine light is on and my car is shaking and sometimes won't start. I have contacted carshield and they won't pay for anything. This is such a rip off and I am so upset that I am going through this and this is not right or acceptable. I have paid so much money into this business for them to tell me that they wont' fixed my car. I took it to the shop about a year ago and they didn't fix it at all and I had to pay $500 for an oil consumption and they wouldn't pay for anything. At this point I am going to cancel my agreement with them. Then my husband call inquiring about the car and the lady said "what do you want me to do? You should get the car fix on your own." I think that was so unprofessionalBusiness Response

Based on information given by your repair facility your claim was denied 10/19/2021 for exclusion in the contract for oil consumption. No RDI was performed to confirm a cause of failure. Diagnosis was only given verbally with no documentation to support it. No crankcase breather or PCV system tests were performed to rule out that as a cause of failure. There were not any service records provided and a ****** report showed your vehicle had been to the same repair facility twice in 2021 prior to the claim starting.
You also drove the vehicle with known engine failure. On 9/7/2022 you called in to inquire about starting an engine claim stating you had been driving the vehicle since the claim was denied in 10/2021. This is continued operation per the contract. Your contract has been cancelled as you requested during the call on 9/7/22.

I got coverage from Carshield on 11/24/2021 for $99.99 a month. I never did a claim with them I canceled my service on 9/6/2022. I heard bad things from other carshield customers about how they do not honor their contract. I decided that it was pointless paying a company with such bad reviews. I called carshield to ask for my money back. I was told that they will not give me my oey back. I saw nowhere in my contract that I could not be refunded my money. They owe me from 11/24/2021 to July24/2022.Business Response

We have attached a copy of your contract. Please see Section O- Cancellation of Contract which states you will receive a refund if cancelled within 30 days of purchase.
You purchased a monthly renewing contract and were provided coverage on your vehicle for the months you made a payment. There is no refund due to you. Much like car insurance, you pay for the months you have coverage and do not receive a refund if you don't file a claim.
As a courtesy, CarShield will refund your last payment. You will receive the refund back to the card on file within 3-5 business days. We are sorry to lose you as a CarShield customer.

I have paid over $1,800 for a power train gold warranty. The contract covers the air conditioning components, specifically the blower motor. The company will not pay my claim submitted for my **** *** **** on Sept 2nd 2022 because they say another part of the car caused the blower to go bad that is not covered. I only want them to pay for the covered part. I now have to pay for the entire repair which is over $1,600. This is what I bought the warranty for and they have no proof another part caused the blower to die. Could it be because the car is eight years old and it was 100 degrees in S. Florida? My mechanic told me they have never reimbursed any claim they have submitted. When I read clause t of exclusions, it proves this company is a scam. No claims are covered “due to age or normal operation or use”. This is why you buy a used car warranty. They use this as an out to pay every claim. Please investigate this company.Business Response
