On 4/27/2022, the transmission in my vehicle started having issues. On4/28/2022, I went to CarShield's website to find repair facilities. Out of the10 repair facilities I called from CarShield's website, all said they did not accept CarShield. The main reason I choose this company was due to the vast amount of repair facilities they advertised. On 4/28/2022, I called into CarShield for help and was told that they would accept any repair facility. As long as they had a garage. I took my car to the repair facility on4/29/2022. Since then, I've been waiting on CarShield / ******** ********** to repair my vehicle. After numerous delays, they finally approved my vehicle for repair. On 6/13/2022, the repair facility contacted me and told me that the transmission they received was defective. Since then, CarShield / ******** **** ****** has not worked to send in a replacement, nor work to repair my vehicle. It has now been 13 weeks and they have not tried to get my vehicle back, Meanwhile, I've been paying for a service that they are not providing.

On 11/29/2021 I purchased a service contract from CarShield for $160.99/mo. On 2/18/2022 my car needed service and I reached out to ******** **** ****** (***), the rep instructed to call a certified mechanic that would accept my service contract. ***** service accepted the contract, performed a diagnostic test on my vehicle and contacted ***. According to the ***** service rep., *** informed them I was not in compliance with the wait period (20 days/500 miles or 40 days/ 250 miles). *** never contacted me about their decision. I called ***, the rep and supervisor told me once I was in compliance with the waiting period I could submit the claim for the repairs. 4/18/2022 the claim was submitted by ***** service for transmission, oil seals, timing belt and oil pump reseal. 5/4/2022 ***** service had not heard from ***. I contacted *** there had not been any action on the claim. The individual talked to ***** service to confirm I was in compliance according to my contract. The *** adjuster sends an inspector to ***** and reported findings to ***. *** never notified me of the decision. ***** fwd this email to me "I tried to give you a call at the shop but was disconnected after being transferred twice. I was calling to let you know that Claim#****** was reviewed and Denied due to these failures having been reported on a previous claim that was denied due to the contract still being in the waiting period. As these failures were already reported and denied for the waiting period not being met, they would not be eligible for coverage at this time either. The customer will be responsible for the cost of these repairs." Tried contacting the adjuster several times via phone and email, and never received a response. *** rep and supervisor left me under the impression the repairs would be fixed once I was in compliance, however this was not so. *** continued withdrawing monthly payments, from 2/28/2022 to 6/29/2022. I'm requesting a refund of $804.95.

I have a contract with this company. I started having issues with my car. I took it in to a repair shop. Carshield refused to honor the contract. I contacted them and they told me they would only cover it if it needed a brand new motor. I just need the seals. They told me they would cover the seals as long as a new motor was installed.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

As noted on the first three pages of your contract, ******** **** ****** (***) is the administrator of your vehicle service contract and has FULL authority over repair procedures, approvals, denials and payments. Per their notes the only claim *** has on this contract was called in for a thermostat failure , oil cooler leaking, wheel speed sensors and a component for the evaporative emissions system. None of these items are listed for coverage in Section B of your contract.

*** also notes the contract start mileage is 141,891 and the failure was called in with a reported mileage of 141,975. This is only 84 miles into coverage which means even if the repair was covered, you had not met the required 500 miles in the waiting period. We have attached a copy of your contract for your review and convenience.

You have had ample time to review your contract and the terms.  Per the contract terms there is no refund due after 30 days. CarShield has in no way violated the terms of the agreement. However, CarShield will refund your last 6 payments as a courtesy, upon execution of a Settlement and Release Agreement. Please email ****************** to confirm the cancellation and refund. In response to Car Shields proposal for settlement, I would like to make a counter proposal, one of which is more in line of fairness to all parties.  My proposal for settlement is if Car Shield will refund ALL premiums paid, I will cancel my policy with not future action,  Please let me if this is accepted and we can proceed to move forward.

    *** ********,

CarShield did not any way violate the terms of the contract. In fact it was you who chose not to follow the terms of the contract even after being told how to move forward. CarShield's offer of a 6 month refund is more than generous. This is a month to month contract and technically there is not refund due. We will offer an additional refund of 3 payments for a total of 9 to solve this matter.  We will require that you sign a Settlement and Release Agreement.

Please email ****************** to confirm the cancellation and offered resolution and we will draft the Agreement and sent it to your vie email for your electronic signature.

I am rejecting this response because:

Thank you for your prompt email. Per your instructions, an email was sent to CarShield instructing the cancellation of the policy. No charges after July 31, 2022, will be approved for payment. With that, my mutually beneficial proposal still stands as repayment for eleven (11) months. If Car Shields agrees, I will cease all future legal actions available to me.
This is by far in the best interest of all parties involved.
Thank you very much for your assistance in this matter, and I look forward to hearing from you.

As noted on the first three pages of your contract, ******************** (AAS) is the administrator of your vehicle service contract and has FULL authority over repair procedures, approvals, denials and payments.  We have contacted them to obtain information on the repair claim you have referenced. AAS has reviewed your complaint and notes there was some delays revolving around the part getting shipped in for the repair of the A/C compressor. There was a second issue with the oil cooler gaskets leaking and pictures were requested for that and they were provided earlier today. The compressor was also authorized at MSRP for the *** part to your repair facility for the repairs as well today. The claim was initially called in 7/26 and the adjuster was moving forward with authorization on the compressor with either sending in our supplied unit or applying the cost as a credit towards the repair facility's part. This seemed to cause some confusion and this led to a delay in getting the claim authorized initially.

Since the claim is now authorized per the terms of the contract and this far exceeds what you have paid in premiums, CarShield can offer no further resolution on this matter. If you have any further disputes or questions regarding your repair claim decision, please contact AAS directly at ************, or see Section ** ******* Resolutions, of your contract.

i have a car warranty on my car and then my car broke down so i had it towed to a mechanic and it took them like 2 mouths to come look at car the car and then they denied the claim because they said the was no oil in the engine but the reason why the was no oil was because of a knock in the engine so oil spilled out i did all my oil changes

    Business Response

    Date: 08/03/2022

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

As noted on the first three pages of your contract, ******** **** ****** (***) is the administrator of your vehicle service contract and has FULL authority over repair procedures, approvals, denials and payments.  We have contacted them to obtain information on the repair claim you have referenced. Per their notes your claim was denied for low oil level in the engine that was identified during the inspection. There was no hole in the block or anything identified to the inspector from your repair facility as to why the oil would be low. With having no oil on the dipstick this would directly contribute to the failure. There are leaks shown in the inspection report but they are clearly long term issues and the breakdown is on day 45 of coverage so they would be considered preexisting.

*** also pulled a ****** report and it shows your vehicle was at a different repair facility on 4/5/2022 at a mileage of 52,962. The report only calls out steering and suspension checks and nothing about the engine. The issue with this is the reported start mileage on the contract from 4/6/2022 is 50,382. This shows the start mileage is not correct.

With the low oil level and the ****** showing the vehicle has not moved since the contract start there is no way to move this claim forward. As a resolution, CarShield will refund your payments in full upon execution of a Settlement and Release Agreement. Please email ****************** to confirm the cancellation and refund. Once we receive the email, we will draft the Agreement and email it to you for your review and signature.  Please make sure to include your name and contract number (**********) in the subject line for faster processing.

Since there was no claim called in and this was done on a day when we were open this is technically a repair done with no prior authorization. Since the claim was not called in prior to the repairs there was no option for claims to go over the pricing with you prior to them paying the bill. *** states you were overcharged from your repair facility as well.

We see that you have already cancelled your vehicle service contract. As a courtesy, CarShield will refund your last payment.   You will receive the payment back to the card on file within 3-4 business days.

We are are sorry to lose you as a CarShield customer.

I contacted Car Shield to request to cancel 2 policies ********** and ********** effective immediately. I received a nice rep who transferred to another department for cancellation. The second rep refuse to cancel my policies. He kept telling me he was going to keep them open even if I wanted to close them. He stated he would not do it because I had the accounts for only 10 months. There's no contract for car shield accounts. He stated he would give me a discount but would not close may accounts and leave them open. I requested for him to cancel my contracts for 25 minutes and have the recording the call. I told him I would cancel my bank account if needed to cancel this contract. This is poor customer service if you can't call a company and request to have your service cancelled if you wish too. Please assist with a resolution.
