We filed a claim on may 6,22 on my cars transmission we have now had two third party come out to take a look at car first third party that took a sample it was never sent off second person now 10 weeks later took oil sample in Gatorade bottle I have picture and two eye witnesses of ******* due to him being ****** he was sent from 3hours away told ******* he seen no contamination now suddenly today it magically contaminated and it's in a grey area of my contact it's a sealed unit transmission they have been so unprofessional and falsely advertise their entire upholding for their contracted customers. This point the only way we'll ever get that back is the refunding plus the ***** costs themselves or just the replaced transmission otherwise the customer is in the hole, and ********************** refuses to help no matter and will make you wait in the lot til they feel they're not losing anyway. They shouldn't be able to call this a **** area, it's a sealed transmission where coolent couldn't enter, and the fact they collected their sample in a Gatorade bottle, regular sugar filled one at that, not even with a cap a rubber glove, there's a good chance they aren't doing us right with their own methods as well. A customer shouldn't have to collect their own professional sample just to have evidence of fraudulent behavior in court and be safe from this company.Business Response

As noted on the first three pages of your contract, ******************** (***) is the administrator of your vehicle service contract and has FULL authority over repair procedures, approvals, denials and payments. We have contacted them to obtain information on the repair claim you have referenced. Per their notes, your vehicle was towed to your chosen repair facility from your home residence. Your vehicle was 2.5qts low on *** and the fluid itself was obviously burnt and showing signs of intermix. Worth noting, 2.5 quarts low in a 7.7qt system is roughly 32% of the capacity. Missing %32 of the *** needed to operate the transmission is enough to cause catastrophic failures.
According to your repair facility they pressure tested the coolant system and found no drops in pressure which makes sense since the fluid analysis report from the inspection does not show any traces of coolant. It does however confirm the presence of water in the system. This claim is a solid denial for lack of lube, section D.2.P, and water contamination, section D.2.O.
As a resolution, CarShield will refund your last 3 payments upon execution of a Settlement and Release Agreement. Please email ******************************* to confirm the cancellation and refund. Once we receive the email, we will draft the Agreement and email it to you for your review and signature. I took my vehicle to a repair shop, and they are not covering what they are supposed to be covering. They did not send anyone out to check the vehicle to actually see what is wrong. The gentleman I spoke to at Car Sheild on 15 July 22 at approximately 1225 agreed that the parts should be covered, he proceeded to contact another associate that said they are not. I read in my policy that all of the parts should be covered. Regardless what caused the failure the other parts are covered in the policy. I can provide my policy if needed.Business Response

As noted on the first three pages of your contract, ******** **** ****** (***) is the administrator of your vehicle service contract and has FULL authority over repair procedures, approvals, denials and payments. Your claim was reviewed by the Legal Claims Director for ***, an ASE-Certified Master Mechanic, who determined the claim had been adjudicated correctly and in accordance with the terms of the contract. The failure as noted from your repair facility and your statement is that a U joint failed on the driveshaft. The driveshaft let go and caused a significant amount of damage. The contract does not have any coverage for the U joints. This is a non covered part damaging a covered part and is excluded from coverage. It also takes a significant amount of driving with a failed u joint to get it to the point where it completely fails and comes apart. It would be causing vibrations and noise long before it got to that point so there is also a significant amount of continued operation to consider.

I started with Carshield when I bought my car in September. I have been paying them all this time and they denied my claim. They are making things up in an effort to get out of paying out on my repairs. They tried to say my car had a branded title. I called the DMV and they ran the VIN# and it is a clear title. Everything the repair needs is covered under my contract.Business Response

As noted on the first three pages of your contract, ******** **** ****** (***) is the administrator of your vehicle service contract and has FULL authority over repair procedures, approvals, denials and payments. We have contacted them to obtain information on the repair claim you have referenced. *** looked this over and per the NICB the vehicle was reported as a total loss on 4/9/2021 due to collision damage. Per section D.7 of the contract failures are excluded if the vehicle has ever been determined to be a total loss "REPAIRS IF YOUR VEHICLE IS: A NON-U.S. SPECIFICATION MODEL, IS RATED OVER ONE TON PAYLOAD CAPACITY, IS A LEMON LAW BUYBACK VEHICLE, IS A GREY MARKET VEHICLE OR HAS EVER HAD A TITLE INDICATION OF SALVAGE, JUNK, BRANDED OR OTHER DESIGNATION INDICATING THAT THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN STOLEN, WRECKED, DESTROYED, WATER DAMAGED, OR OTHERWISE DAMAGED TO THE EXTENT THAT IT WAS CONSIDERED TO BE UNECONOMICAL TO REPAIR"
The vehicle was totaled prior to your ownership. This is something you would need to address with who ever you bought the vehicle from since you claim they did not know. Not every state transfers branding from state to state so it is not always displayed on the title. This is known as title washing. You were given an option to add on the branded title coverage for future claims but since it was not disclosed prior to the start of this claim and the branded title add on was not in effect at the time for breakdown there is no coverage for this claim.

I am rejecting this response because: This company sold me a policy, but now are looking for reasons not to cover the needed repairs. First they had my mechanic tear down the motor to prove the needed repairs, then when that was proven, they came back with denying the claim because it has a branded title. My title is not branded this is just something they came up with to deny the needed repairs. I want this company to honor the policy and contractual agreement, I want my car repaired.

On May 24, I saw the Carshield commercial and decided to get an extended warranty on my wife's car. I got the coverage. On July 6 my wife came off the freeway and the car stalled out on her. Luckily a couple of guys saw her stranded and pushed her car to the house. I call Carshield to set up getting her car fixed, had it towed to **** **** around the corner from my house. I called about the status of my warranty and was told that everything was fine and I needed to submit some paperwork detailing my maintenance with the car. I did so. Had a statement made. The auto shop called, took pictures and I thought everything was fine. I was told however that my claim was denied due to lack of maintenance. However that is inaccurate. I had paperwork to justify my maintaining the car. They treated me like a criminal, like I was doing something illegal and I want them to take ownership of their not honoring their warranty. I am very disappointed and angry about this because its false advertising if you say you will cover something then do it.Business Response

I purchased a car insurance policy on 9/13/21. On 1/22/22 I filed a claim on my vehicle. I drove it to ******* ************ and it was discovered that the transmission needed a torque converter and the transmission shop also stated and recommended that the transmission be rebuilt because fixing the torque converter was not a guarantee to fix the issue. Car Shield ignored the recommendation of the shop and only paid for the repair of the torque converter. On Friday 2/11/22 we received our vehicle and drove it home from the shop, the odometer read 147,212. The shop is approximately 10 miles from our home and the car was parked at our home during the week as we have 3 vehicles available to us. On 2/19/22 I decided to use the vehicle to go Shreveport, La which is approximately 90 miles from our home, at around 75 miles of the trip the car started smoking and would not allow me drive more than 50 mph, the check engine light and reduce power light came on. I immediately pulled over to a safe spot and the car was towed back to ********* ************. The shop is now stating the transmission needs to be rebuilt or replaced due to part failure. Car shield is refusing to pay the claim stating the car was still being driven. I asked driven after what or what was the proof and they would not email or mail me anything to explain in detail why the claim was being denied. I have called for months to check on the claim and was given the run around. The claim was just denied on 7/11/22 meaning my car has been unavailable to me for a total of 7 months with the exception of 1 week in February. the claim number is *******. policy number is **********. Also we still have been paying the Car shield insurance and have not canceled it even though the vehicles has been unavailable to us for 7 months.Business Response

As noted on the first three pages of your contract, ******** **** ****** (***) is the administrator of your vehicle service contract and has FULL authority over repair procedures, approvals, denials and payments. We have contacted them to obtain information on the repair claim you have referenced. Your claim was reviewed by the Legal Claims Director for ***, an ASE-Certified Master Mechanic, who determined the claim had been adjudicated correctly and in accordance with the terms of the contract. The contract covered the initial cause of failure of the torque converter and denied additional transmission repairs due to continued operation. The continued operation is confirmed by the fact the face that you drove your repair vehicle into your repair facility with a known issue.
*** does note you sent in a hand written service records and a receipt for a transmission service they performed on 3/21/2021 at mileage of 129689. The receipt shows they bought the transmission fluid at Sam’s Club with their item number of **********. *** looked this fluid up on Sam’s club website this is listed as compatible with Dexron 2, Dexron 3, and Mercon fluids. This vehicle takes Dexron 6 fluid. The Dexron fluids are not forward compatible. It even lists on the image for the back of the bottle that this fluid should not be used in a GM vehicle newer than 2005 and should not be used in place of Dexron 6. This shows an improper fluid service. Since you sent in records showing the transmission was improperly serviced the claim should have been denied in full. Since the contract paid out for the torque converter repair and also covered the RDI costs on the second claim out of good will there is nothing additional *** can add to the claim.

I have had Carshield and I pay about $100 a month. I called them to have my car repaired. I took my car to a place they gave me permission to take it to in Pine Bluff, AR. This was 200 miles away. We had to have it towed. The mechanic turned the paper work in in June. I asked for a rental car and they said no because they said they didn't have the paperwork but they did. I called them again, and they said they had to wait 24-48 hours to let me know. I still haven't heard from them. I heard from the mechanic today, and he asked for my approval to break down the car. I gave him approval. Carshield will not give me a rental. They are asking for a record of all the oil changes for the life of the car. The mechanic has all that information.Business Response

6 months ago I purchased Car Shields Gold coverage - which basically covers the power train of the vehicle. I took my 2013 Buick Lacrosse in to the local dealer for service on a transmission issue in which I was told that the car needed approx. $1600 in repairs to the transmission. As requested, the dealer sent what Car Shield requested them to send; pictures, diagnostic codes, and an estimate for repairs. The dealer sent these a week ago. I was told that the adjuster would look at this info and give the go ahead within 48 hours. That was a week ago. SInce then, there has been back and forth correspondences between the dealership and Car Shield in which Car Shield continues to request more and more info from the dealer in what appears to be a stall tactic to delay the work and find an excuse to not honor the insurance contract. Meanwhile I sit without a car and no resolve. It's been two weeks. ******** ** ********** Vehicle: 2013 Buick Lacrosse Plan: Powertrain Gold I NEED CAR SHIELD TO HONOR THE POLICY AND APPROVE THE REPAIRS ON THE CAR - NOW; AND STOP THE DELAY. I am rejecting this response because: I do not have to send this company anything stating I sold my vehicle to cancel my service with this company. I do not have anything in writing stating such information is needed to cancel my membership. This company is a FRAUD and they need to have their business license taken because they take your money and does not follow through paying claims. When you tell dealerships you have Car Shield.
