Carshield is refusing to pay my claim. They have been stalling me for 2 months. I have been renting a car and it’s costing me a fortune. I contacted carshield at the onset of the problem and they told me I was approved just take it to any repair shop. I took it to the dealer and it took carshield over a month to send out an adjuster. Then it took 2 weeks to get a report. After the report they said they need pictures to verify if the claim is valid. We sent the pics and nobody responded. Now I’m sitting here paying for a rental car and no repairs are being done. This is a scam.

As noted on the first three pages of your contract, ******** **** ****** (***) is the administrator of your vehicle service contract and has FULL authority over repair procedures, approvals, denials and payments.  We have contacted them to obtain information on the repair claim you have referenced. Please contact *** and supply them with an unedited invoice from the repair facility to move your claim forward. If you have any additional concerns regarding this repair claim, you may contact ******** **** ****** directly at ###-###-####. I started a contract with Car Shield Auto Warranty in April of 2022. I mistakenky gave them the wrong mileage as I had just installed a new engine. I gave them the engine mileage instead of the vehicle mileage. When I realized it, I called them to correct the mistake. I was told that I would have to go to a lower tier, but I could still get coverage. Unbeknownst to me, that didnt haplen and I was still on the Gold tier which has a limit of 150,000 miles. The Silver tier has a limit of 250,000 miles. Thats what I should have been contracted under. On June 25th, I filed a claim. After about a week, the company informed my REPAIR FACILITY, not ME, that the claim was denied and my contract was cancelled. I called and was told by “Melissa” that when I was downgraded, to the Silver tier, they should have started the new tier and cancelled the old one. She also said my repairs would have been covered. She apologized and admitted that it was the company’s fault and that leadership had been notified, and plans were in effect for retraining of the employees so this wouldn’t happen again. I was told the decision would stand on my cancelation and the denial of my claim. I would get reimbursed the $300 in premiums in about a month. She would not let me speak to leadership at all. This was nothing more than a purposeful avoidance to paying the claim. They could have easily switched me to the lower tier and paid the claim since it was their fault. My repairs are going to exceed $2000, so, giving me back the $300 was the best way for them not to pay the claim and save money. I do not have the funds for the repairs. They should not be allowed to get away with this. PLEASE HELP ME

I purchased two policies with this company (********** and **********) in May 2022 after hearing commercials on the radio and seeing the celebrity endorsements on tv. I attempted to cancel ********** two times (May 30 and June 7) after the fact due to no longer having the vehicle. This company still drafted a second payment. I called again and they state that it was cancelled but refused to refund me the two months premiums claiming the system would not allow them to. I kept the second policy ending in 9597 since it would protect my only vehicle. While running errands on June 13, the vehicle started acting weird and I went home and called my local mechanic and told him the vehicle was acting strange. He took it to his shop where he discovered that the transmission was having issues. My mechanic called the claim in and was given the run around from the get go. The time frames were never followed. A month later they denied the claim stating it was a "gradual" issue and not a sudden one. The vehicle had not had any problems prior to this day. This company misleads customers to buying policies stating that you will fully covered after the waiting period only to find any reason to deny claims. I requested my refund for the premiums paid since they did not honor their promises made at the time this contract was made. This company is a scam. I will now have to pay out of pocket for the repairs on my vehicle. They advertise that buying their policies will prevent this.

CarShield Car Warranty claim dispute - Contract ********** Claim ******* - purchased contract on 2/21/22 - engine failure on 3/23 - the lowest estimate to repair work I could get was $17,122.53, CarShield would only authorize $10,746.52 - I had trouble finding any shop that would work with CarShield - I asked CarShield for a list of certified shops in my area, only one would work with them and they indicated that my estimate provided from my shop was fair and in line with expectations and their history with CarShild proved they paid 50-70% of actual repair cost - CarShield tried to deny the claim and only approved any money when I was able to provide full-service records and a recent inspection by a BMW shop - I was without my car for 12 weeks. Much of this was caused by CarShield requiring more information and not sending inspectors out as promised. - I have contacted CarShiled and they are refusing to adjust the settlement amount and suggested I go through BBB Arbitration - I would like for CarShield to cover the remaining cost of the repair. ($6,376.01)

As noted on the first three pages of your contract, ******** **** ****** (***) is the administrator of your vehicle service contract and has FULL authority over repair procedures, approvals, denials and payments.  We have contacted them to obtain information on the repair claim you have referenced. Per their notes and based on labor time breakdowns the following facts have been identified; Oil pan removal and replacement is 10.8 hours,  half of that for diagnosis is 5.4 hours. Crankshaft labor time is 34.9 hours. Even if *** paid the RDI time which would be overlapping for the crankshaft that would be 41.3 hours total for engine repair. Labor rate of 172.63*41.3= $7,129.619 which means your repair facility is over charging for labor time. *** does not have control over your repair facility and the amount your repair facility charges for parts or labor. The contract is liable for national standard labor time and MSRP on parts only.

No resolution can be offered at this time as this is a complaint that should be taken up with your repair facility.  Since the amount of the paid claim is significantly larger than the amount you have paid into the contract there is no refund due on the contract. If you have any further disputes or questions regarding your repair claim decision, please contact *** directly at ###-###-####, or see Section M, Dispute Resolutions, of your contract.

I purchased a car shield plan in April of 2022. I bought a BMW 2012 and in May of 2022 my car stopped running due to timing chain issues. When I filed a claim through car shield; they notified me that they would not cover any of the auto repairs; because I didn’t personally put 500 miles on the engine. So now I’m paying for a service that I can’t even use to get my car fixed. I want this resolved as I am still without my vehicle and I can not get an additional loan for repairs. I am extremely unhappy with car shield and their business practices. This in my opinion is no way to do business!

As noted on the first three pages of your contract, ******** **** ****** (***) is the administrator of your vehicle service contract and has FULL authority over repair procedures, approvals, denials and payments.  We have contacted them to obtain information on the repair claim you have referenced. Per their notes, your chosen repair facility called in the claim and based on the current mileage called in versus the contract start mileage, your vehicle is still in the waiting period as it has not traveled over 250 miles into coverage. This is a correct denial for waiting period.

Worth noting there is a class action lawsuit with BMW that was just settled over the timing chains in this engine and there is an extended warranty coverage through BMW for this issue. It would depend on the in service date as to whether your vehicle qualifies for this coverage.

Since the failure is in the waiting period there is no coverage we can offer. As a resolution, CarShield will refund your last 3 payments in full upon execution of a Settlement and Release Agreement. Please email [email protected] to confirm the cancellation and refund. I purchased a CarShields vehicle warranty for our 2013 Dodge Charger 01-11-2019. This warranty was supposed to be for 75,000 miles and 6 years (72 months). We are only 3.5 years into the contract or 26,000 miles. I paid about $2,600 for the Powertrain Gold package. My daughter was in Wyoming for college, so we trailered this car up there for her. During her time there the charger would jump to neutral and shut off. This happened a couple of times and each time it was taken to either a Dodge dealership or a very reputable repair shop. Each time the Dealership could not recreate the problem we identified. In April 2022 the Dodge charger stalled again. I had her take it to Cowboys Dodge dealership in Cheyenne Wy. They serviced the vehicle and kept the car for a week trying to determine the problem. They could not recreate the problem and determine the issue. My daughter drove the vehicle home for summer in May 2022. While here the vehicle stalled again. I towed it to ********* ********** in Haltom City TX. They determined it was a transmission problem. They contacted CarShields for repair. It's been a nightmare since. ********* told them what is wrong and some adjuster who hasn't even seen it disagrees with them. The car has been in the shop since May. I have been patient with Carshields but they have made no attempt to call me or explain why they are denying the repairs shops estimate. My transmission is covered under the contract I purchased. I have lost my patience with them and feel they are disrespectful and just a scam to take your money and then look for any reason to not honor your contract. I have called multiple times and never get the same person. Each time they can't answer questions but can only put notes for the appropriate person who you never learn who it is. I found out who my adjuster was and wanted to speak with him, but they refuse to let you talk to him. They are not even responding to my repair shop. I want my money back. Plz help.

Per their notes, a claim specialist reached out to your repair facility.  The repair facility has almost no diagnosis for the torque converter, they just state that the vehicle is dying in neutral because of the torque converter.  There has been no verified failure.

With the large amount of electrical codes there is a concern for this being an electrical issue, especially if this issue is extremely intermittent as you reported.  Your repair facility also stated you have already picked up the vehicle without having any repair performed.  *** left you a voicemail requesting you to contact them so they can discuss claim direction with you. *** will need further diagnosis and records showing vehicle was maintained following manufacturer guidelines. My car had a mechanical problem 2 months ago... I have valid insurance and supplemental insurance through carshield. When they were notified that the car was in the shop and that they needed to go and perform an estimate, they lied and said they went. I called back to carshield and they apologized and said they would send another representative. It's been 2 months and I am paying for a rental car out of pocket and. Carshield is not cooperating and paying for my vehicle damage. I said I was going to cancel their coverage but I can't because they said if I do that my policy would cancel and they don't have to fix my cat then. Please help me

My complaint is against car shield I purchased car shield in 2021 and did not use it until June 28th of 2022 I was caught I called first and stated in all of their commercials and took the car in as they referred to me to take it in I was told on July 5th that they would not cover the cost of the car the problem I had with the car is the oil are all your leak in the rear a rear oil leak and several gaskets for some reason they refuse to fix the car when I purchased this insurance I was told that they fixed the car whatever the problem is they repair with no problems all I had was $100 deductible and the contract speaks of the gaskets and the seals which was the problem with the vehicle the car needed to seal around the transmission I was told that they would not cover the cost of the car for some reason the problem was not repaired even though it was a transmission problem because it is the seal on the transmission so they refuse to fix the car I am making a complaint I have canceled my services with car show and I would like a refund if possible. This problem is that car shield does not stand behind what they are advertising on TV. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

As noted on the first three pages of your contract, ******** **** ****** (***) is the administrator of your vehicle service contract and has FULL authority over repair procedures, approvals, denials and payments.  Your claim was reviewed by the Legal Claims Director for ***, an ASE-Certified Master Mechanic, who determined the claim had been adjudicated correctly and in accordance with the terms of the contract. Based on the inspection and the reported concerns the failures are stand alone seals and gaskets and emissions related concerns. These items are jot listed for coverage under your contract.  Please see Section B of your contract for a list of covered components. We have attached a copy of your contract for your convenience.

You may choose to keep your Vehicle Service Contract for future covered repairs or you may choose to cancel your coverage.  However, on a monthly renewing contract, you pay for the months you are covered and may cancel at any time or keep your coverage as long as you would like.  If you choose to cancel your service contract, you would receive a refund of the monthly payment that was just made on contract **********. Please email ****************** to confirm the cancellation and refund. Once we receive the email, we will draft the Agreement and email it to you for your review and signature.  Please make sure to include your name and contract number in the subject line for faster processing.
