I called on 07-15-2025 at approximately 9:46am and spoke with a ****** to ask them to please cancell my policy as I no longer can afford it. He kept wanting to remind me that repairs and labor are expensive and how much getting new appliances can cost. I simply asked them to please discountinue my policy, I did not want to go into detail of how much things cost and he kept insisting to keep me as a customer and to keep my policy going. When I asked if I can cancel my policy he said yes, that he had told me that several times, but just wanted to make me aware of the expenses of something breaking down and the high labor costs. I told him that all I wanted was to cancel the policy and I would deal with the rest. If there was anything else he needed and he said no, but he would not terminate the call and cancel the policy. He was very rude, and kept telling me I was being unreasonable to the high costs of repairs and that no one gives the service for free after I told him that my family would be able to help if really needed. When I call to cancel a service, I expect to say Okay, thank you and your policy is now cancelled. Good Bye, but not to keep insisting that its an error to cancel.Initial Complaint

I received a misleading and deceptive letter from Home Warranty Direct that falsely presented itself as an urgent notice from my mortgage company, ********************************** The letter was labeled as a "FINAL NOTICE" and referenced my mortgage lender, property address, and included a supposed "Home Owner ID." It created unnecessary alarm by suggesting immediate action was required to avoid losing an "allocated waiver" of $199.00.Upon further inspection, it became clear that this was a solicitation designed to look like an official notice from my lender. The letter's formatting and language appeared intentionally crafted to mislead recipients into believing it was related to their mortgage. This type of marketing is both deceptive and unethical, as it attempts to exploit homeowners' concerns about their mortgage or property status.I am requesting that Home Warranty Direct cease sending misleading mailers of this nature and that they be held accountable for their deceptive advertising practices.Desired Outcome:I would like a formal apology from Home Warranty Direct, a commitment that they will stop sending deceptive mailers, and for the BBB to consider investigating their advertising practices to protect other consumers from similar misleading tactics.Customer Answer

Mailed form looked like a check. No company name & address listed just reference to your mortgage lender. Check form listed allocated Waiver but bottom of check indicated that this was not a check. Call the ************, the company was Home Warranty Direct selling warranty services. Very shady and told the woman on the phone, she got defensive, told her I was not interested, hung up.Initial Complaint

On Nov. 20, 2024, I spoke on the phone with an agent regarding a notice I had received in the mail about my home warranty getting ready to expire. The notice sounded urgent and named my mortgage lender. I had no reason to suspect it was not legitimate. However, in talking to them and giving them my information, I did ask if I could cancel at any time, to which he responded "yes". I never felt comfortable about the whole conversation and felt pressured to purchase the home warranty coverage. They processed a $ ****** payment to begin the coverage and charge me $ ******/month, which is more than I can afford. I then tried to call to cancel and was not able to speak with a live person. I closed that card with my bank and had a new one reissued. My bank has reimbursed me for the charges other than the initial $ ****** that I paid them. This company is committing fraud and is a scam. I saw the many complaints that have been filed against them. I wish to be reimbursed for the $ ******, and cease any business with them.Initial Complaint

I received a "Final Notice" in the mail, deceitfully looking to be from my mortgage lender and appearing to contain a check with sufficient effort put into the appareance of the notice and "check" as to be investigated for fraud. Nowhere on this notice is the name of the company listed, nor is it stated that the perforated document with security features is NOT a check. I called to ask them to remove my information from their system and was subsequently verbally abused by multiple employees. They will also be reported to the **** My request is that the predatory advertisements be adjusted to clearly state the company name and that the "check" be removed from future correspondence. I wish to never again be contacted by this company.Initial Complaint

I received a notice in the mail from an unknown company who attempted to deceive me into thinking there's an urgent matter I need to take action on regarding my home mortgage. The notice included ************************ (bank's name), and an allocated waiver that I would lose if I didn't respond immediately within 7 days of receiving the notice. No further indication of what the matter was about, and no indication of the company it was from. It included things in bold font to draw my attention, such as "FINAL NOTICE" my address, my bank's name, and "Please Call IMMEDIATELY as this will be our FINAL ATTEMPT TO NOTIFY YOU". It also included a check-looking attachment that was made out to me for $199 dollars, but wasn't an actual check. It included language on it that said "Allocated Waiver". On the back of it, it had a place to "Endorse" it. When I called the phone number on there, it turns out this was sent by a company called Home Warranty Direct. It wasn't a notice, rather a clever advertisement to get you to call them so they can sell you a home warranty. The entire "notice" is meant to deceive you into thinking this is something you HAVE TO respond to. Creating a false sense of urgency, and a false check you can cash in on. My first thought was "If I don't respond, I'll be charged $199.00 for something, so I need to call and verify with someone to ensure I get that waived." I believe that is the intention of this advertisement. As a member of the public, I'm thoroughly frustrated with all of the deceit that runs rampant in American advertising today. I think we should set guidelines on ads, and force businesses to pay penalties when they create deceitful mail.Initial Complaint

I am writing to formally lodge a complaint against Home Warranty Direct (also called Integrity Home Warranty), a business presumably operating under the standards and ethical guidelines. My experience with this company has been exceedingly disappointing and financially burdensome, leading me to question the integrity of its operations and its commitment to customer satisfaction. My current address is *****************************************************************. In 2022, I received a letter from a company called Home Warranty Direct with a title final notice warning that my home warranty was expiring. The letter also heavily implies an affiliation with the homeowners mortgage company and the county deed records office. My previous home warranty expired in December, 2022, so I gave them a call and purchased a home warranty plan with an expiration date of April, 2026. Since last year, I have been attempting to resolve a straightforward issue with Home Warranty Direct, concerning a broken food disposal unit covered under their warranty plan. Despite numerous calls and requests for service, the company has failed to provide a resolution, repair, or replacement for the malfunctioning unit. It is now almost March, and their continued inaction has rendered the warranty, for which I paid $3579 in full, completely worthless. I was really concerned about the legitimacy of this warranty company, so I decided to conduct some research online. It turned out that this company has been implicated in several scam activities across the nation. Given the substantial financial commitment I have made to this warranty, I find the situation to be unacceptable and intolerable. I am therefore requesting the intervention of Better Business Bureau to mediate in this matter. I seek a full refund of all payments made to Home Warranty Direct for the warranty plan, as they have demonstrably failed to fulfill their contractual obligations.Thank you!Initial Complaint

Scare tactics in the mail. They give you a FAKE check for $199 just to try and get you on the phone in order to try and pressure you into a home warranty. Shady company, they dont even have a website with reviews. Dont be fooled by this scam, there are much better companies out there that offer home warranties.
