    In July 2022 we signed a contract with Coleman Pools of St. Peters Missouri, and made a refundable $1000 deposit for construction of a pool, to be completed summer 2023. On 12/28/22 Don Coleman requested $49,800 to purchase pool equipment immediately so that he could obtain current year pricing as costs were expected to rise in 2023. Mr. Coleman requested that two checks be made out to Coleman Pools for $24,900, to lock in the equipment costs. We submitted payment on 12/28/22.

    After digging a pool-depth hole on our property in June, Mr. Coleman did not return to complete the job and has lied about his whereabouts. He has made numerous excuses regarding his health, equipment, and labor over the last 5 months. After further investigation, we can confirm that Mr. Coleman never obtained county permits to construct on our property.

    Mid-summer we requested the pool equipment to be delivered to our property, as it should have been purchased with the $49,800. Mr Coleman ignored this and subsequent requests and continued to lie about when he would resume construction. In Aug, we informed Mr. Coleman that we would be canceling our contract with him and requested that he return the $49,800 for the pool equipment. He has not complied and refuses to submit receipts for the equipment purchase, rather he states that he would refund $44,000 which includes what remains after equipment restocking fees and time spent on our property.


    It has since been 2 months (now Oct-23) and Mr. Coleman has not returned any of the $49,800. He clearly did not purchase any equipment and stole our money. We continue to call him 5 days a week without success.
