      I had this experience with the *******, ** *********** mother left her shares to my sister and me upon her death, and my sister and I both needed to sign a form with Stifel before we could be given our share. The contract my mother signed said the shares needed to be distributed at the same time. Unfortunately, my sister neglected her responsibilities and did not submit her form to Stifel until around 19 months after my mothers death, despite my attorney sending her letters and me sending her texts she ignored, and me flying about ***** miles to where she lives to try and resolve the situation. My attorney also advocated to Stifel directly on my behalf to release my shares in the meantime, which Stifel did not do as they reserved the right to not release the shares until they had sufficient documentation to do so (receiving the form that my sister would not sign). The majority of the stock portfolio was in a company whose stocks were in a free fall, and I had no power to stop the losses until Stifel got that documentation. I ended up losing around $190,000. I believe that any reasonable person would have considered the multiple unsuccessful attempts by me and my attorney to get my sister to sign this form would have been sufficient, and that Stifel should have made an executive decision to release my shares earlier. Stifel did not protect my rights as a beneficiary. I recommend that people look elsewhere to invest their money.

      Stifel is the worst financial advice company I have ever worked with. Their advisors do not reveal the full range of risk associated with their recommendations. I have bonds that are worth only 30% of what they should be worth because Stifel didnt anticipate the repercussions caused by rising interest rates. In addition, they dont follow through on trade orders in a timely manner. This will result in an opportunity cost to you. Dont bother complaining to their ceo. He is bereft of any concern about client displeasure. GO ELSEWHERE.
