Parish tractor charged me over $500 to do a analysis of a engine on a mower purchased from them, and is under warranty. No repairs were made. They lied about multiple things they claim they found, such as water in fuel. I own a professional lawncare service and my fuel is in a 40 gallon fuel tote on my trailer with external canister filter that eliminates water, but I tested it myself and verified there was no water in it. When I brought it the mower had fuel diluted oil. They claim level was too high for amount in engine but didn't do a.actual oil analysis, so they just guessed. They also lied about only draining down the bad oil, which would have allowed me to send it out for analysis myself. The oil is new so now I can't. They charged me $60 in fuel fees to test a lawn mower. They also only used the computer to diagnose the machine. When I got home it took me 15 minutes to run a compression test and find the mower has a bad cylinder.

      Dear BBB:

Parish Tractor Company, LLC has attempted to contact this customer regarding his complaints.  It seems he is not responding to our messages.

Based on our service department's documentation of the customer's work order, we believe the price charged for services provided were reasonable and appropriate.  He has now provided a negative Google review, which we responded to, filed a complaint with the BBB, which we are responding to now, and he has filed a complaint with the Attorney General's office, which we are in the process of responding to.  A copy of our response to his Google review is attached for your reference along with a copy of the work order documentation.

      Please advise on next steps.

       Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

I received a voicemail and returned the call. The person who left the voicemail (**** I believe), had left early for a Doctors appointment according to the person who answered. I was told a note was being left on his desk to return my call. I never heard back. Bottom line, the fuel in the crank case was not due to anything I did. Water in fuel does NOT cause fuel to enter a crankcase. 10% Ethanol fuel does NOT cause fuel to enter a crankcase. And if the fuel was contaminated it still wouldn't have caused fuel to enter the crankcase. Nothing the dealer claims is reasons for them not to have worked with Kawasaki to cover this under the manufacturer's warranty. As for this constant claim that "no codes" were present, the computer diagnostics is not the end of troubleshooting an engine with a obvious problem. There are many conditions that can cause this problem that the computer will not provide a trouble code for. It requires some hands on mechanic work to figure it out.

       Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

First and foremost, the issue with the mower has been fixed with the help of a Kawasaki technician who saw a post concerning the issue on Facebook. New injector o-rings and new fuel pump fixed the issue. As the technician mentioned, this should have been fully covered under the manufacture's warranty, and also should have been a relatively simple issue to figure out. Offering $100 to spend in their own stores is not a resolution I will accept.
