    We booked a trip with Active Adventures in *********** through Austin Adventures, **** in June 2023 for a trip in February 2024. They recommended travel insurance through ********************************* **** (Calvary *********************** which we purchased for a considerable sum. Ten days into our 14 day tour my wife was asked to test for Covid by the tour guide because she was not feeling well. She tested positive and we were immediately told we had to leave the tour. This was at 7 pm at night, in a small town in **, and the tour was leaving early the next day. There was no offer to see a doctor, nor time. No assistance was offered to help us arrange a return to the **. We had to spend a large sum to do so with much stress. Upon return, we filed a claim with the ***************** which promptly denied it entirely because my wife was not seen by a doctor and told she could not continue. I suggest that you AVOID using either Active Adventures or Austin Adventures. If you do, DO NOT use their recommended travel insurance company.

    Beware!I booked a trip with Austin Adventures, 9 months in advance. At Austin Adventures recommendation, I purchased travel insurance from their insurance partner. I also booked airline tickets and ********** reservations. Three months before the trip, Austin Adventures cancelled the trip. Austin Adventures travel insurance partner pocketed the insurance premium. I also lost money on my airline tickets.Austin Adventures warns that trips may be cancelled but the never recommended waiting to purchase airline tickets or their recommended travel insurance until the trip is certain to take place.Beware, they may cancel your trip and you will lose any non-refundable fees you have paid.
