On 6/13/24 my car, a 1972 Chevrolet el Camino, was involved in a collision. I talked to **** ********, owner of Big Sky Collision Center in *******, who agreed to undertake repairs, so I had the car towed there. In due course, they submitted an estimate for repairs to State Farm Insurance, my insurer. State Farm paid in full for that estimate ($ ********) on 09/17/2024. From that time until now, my father and I have attempted to get the work completed with a long series of text messages and calls with **** ******** (cell #: ************** ), which have included many, many promises of a completion date, multiple excuses revolving around the wrong parts being shipped and shipping delays, etc. On 11/05/2024 **** confirmed that the shop had all the parts necessary to complete repairs. On the afternoon of November 8, my father met with **** in person; **** estimated he needed 12 hours of work to complete the repairs, detail the car, and deliver it to us; he committed to having it ready to pick up by 3PM on Friday, 11/15/24, telling us not to call in the interim, just show up and get the car. At 2 PM that date, he called, telling us he again had the wrong part, and that the car would not be done. That sequence (promise-wrong part-shipping problem) has been repeated over and over again up until today, and is documented in detail in my text records, which I will be happy to provide. At this point, the car is still not repaired, and the shop will no longer respond to calls or texts. The text record file is larger than 5MB, so cannot be attached, but we would be happy to provide it...it tells the entire sad tale.

After 2 1/2 months at their shop, Big Sky Collision had my vehicle parked in the driveway of their shop at 3:00 p.m. on 11/1/2024. The ignition keys were on the front seat. The receptionist left the front desk briefly. She stated that she would ask the owner if he wanted to speak to me or not. She returned saying he did not. I drove away the drivable vehicle that I owned. The shop did not ask me to pay for any parts since none had been ordered by them, although my insurance company had given them a price list and purchase addresses to choose from. A spray with a lingering presence had been sprayed inside the vehicle. There are several highly recommended shops in ******* and ******** that can be expected to deliver what they promise. (This response may be published. ***** B ********.)

03/06/2023. I had them repair damage to the front of my **** Autocar dumptruck. After about 2 weeks the repairs started coming apart. When I returned to them the owner told me he knew I would be back. Made an appointment for March 6th 2023 to fix the issues. After 7 months and numerous lies about the progress I had them put it together and retrieved it. They advertised lifetime warranty on all repairs. Obviously that is a lie too. Now I have to pay someone else to fix it so I can use it. I lost around ******* in revenue because of this. Plus a hood emblem mysteriously disappeared. The emblem is non existent on any for sale page. It is an antique and is valuable as they are unavailable. They claimed it got lost. But it's the only thing missing.

      To Whom it may concern

I am ************************* Owner of Big Sky Collision Center. Here is my response to the above complaint.

We did the repairs on the above vehicle,We repaired it 100% the first time after a few months he called and said there were some issues with the repair. He then eventually brought the truck back so I could look at it.We had done a lot of repairs to the hood that were not accident related. The hood turned out very nicely as it was in really poor Condition upon first arrival. So when he brought the truck back in and we looked at the new damage I had to repeat myself and tell him it was due to the whole body and hood not properly installed. After I fixed it the first time I explained to him that it needed to be remounted or the corners would just break out again. With that being said the did not put in the proper mounting pads for the hood and the corners broke out again, also there was a hole up by the Radiator hose which was from a mis installed hose clamp. We are extremely busy and I agreed to repair the corner damage AGAIN and the Hole from the hose clamp. With all that being said I explained to him how extremely busy we were and that I would fit it in any chance we had and it was going to be months before completion and that he would have to get the proper mounting hardware for the hood.We rerepaired the hood where needed and as I said it took months as my guy worked on it in between his normal daily jobs,**** was well aware of the time frame and the poor mounting job of the guy he had do it originally, and I would bet the Corners are broken again as I know he did not have it redone by his former mechanic properly..We did remount the hose clamp so it would not effect the hood again. We went way above and beyond to repair the hood a second time as those repairs were not accident related.. **** is fully aware of that fact..

Any further info needed I would be more than happy to respond I can also send Photo's if needed as all of our repairs are photo documented..

The owner is again lying about the issue. He never once told me it would months before it would get done. Kept telling me it was done and going to paint when it was not even worked on. I confirmed that by going to the shop and finding still on saw horses upside down. 3 times he told me it would be done and was not. His claim that the damage is being caused by the way the hood is mounted is ridiculous. It's been that way for many years and never caused the cracking of the glass and paint. The original paint has been on there for 10 years and never peeled. His paint job lasted 2 weeks before it started to crack and peel.
