I made two reservation for parks in **** by telephone and spoke to *******. I was told that for both reservations it was a CREDIT CARD GUARANTEE. This was a verbal transaction. I was charged first night and was not told there would be a penalty fee of one night charged IF I CANCELED. PLUS 10% non-reimbursable fee.I was aware of the 10% non-refundable fee. If there's a recording of our conversation it was clear ******* said "OH YES, BOTH RESERVATIONS ARE CREDIT CARD GUARANTEE."I HAVE FILED A DISPUTE WITH MY CREDIT CARD. This groups is deceptive and from what I've read in other complaints. They should not be allowed to operate.National Park Reservations

National Park Reservations provides lodging and activity reservations both inside as well as in the gateway communities of ***************** National Parks. We book over 500 different properties all of which set their own policies, those policies can change at any time.
The client was booked in a property that had a credit card guarantee that changed their policies to a 1 night deposit. The one night deposit was refunded to the guest from the property.

Their website fools the consumer into thinking they are making reservations directly with the National Park lodging. Then they charge a high fee (almost hidden, unless you read the fine print) for their service (10%). Surprise!!!!!!National Park Reservations

I'm afraid I can only add one more voice with the same experience with these charlatans. Nothing to do with our National Parks system and appear to have no relationship with them - i.e. no better ability to get you a room than any of a dozen other booking agencies. Their special trick is to claim an inflated room rate at hotels outside the parks, presumably to pocket the extra. Then when you discover they have charged you $50 more than the hotel directly they invoke the 10% non-refundable "fee". I tried to dispute the "fee" with my credit card company but they returned with the well rehearsed excuses you can read here. My credit card company wouldn't help me, but surely there's SOMEBODY out there who can close these fraudsters down.National Park Reservations

The client said (We have)Nothing to do with our National Parks system and appear to have no relationship with them - i.e. no better ability to get you a room than any of a dozen other booking agencies.
That is correct-as stated in the first paragraph of our terms that the client indicated that they read:

This is incorrect-we book at the current rate that locations (directly)have set. We can not inflate a room rate.

"National Park Reservations" is a scam and they are deceptive with fees and add on 10% not listed at time of booking. You see like $783 for a total for 2 nights in a nice itemized pricing list and then pay. You get 2 emails with varying costs like $806.66 and $810.66. Then you ask in email and get told there is $10.50 charge per night per kid over 11. $2.25 utility fee per night. No mention of 10% booking fee. I call the number and the lady says the total is $880 something with the separate charge for booking fee and other add on fees. Still no actual line item agreement with all costs. I called the "real" national park main page phone number and the lady said if you have 3 beds you can have 3 people+ no matter the ages and there are no daily utility fees. Further, no booking fees. Basically, what you see is what you get and no baiting and deceptive practices.National Park Reservations

National Park Reservations (NPR) provides terribly poor services and intentionally overcharges customers service fees. On April 7, I was charged for a fee of $119.64 for a reservation of two nights at ********************* on May 22 and May 23. I received an email from NPR after reservation fee was paid off, which states, Your request will be handled by a reservation specialist and you will be contacted by phone or email within 24 hours However, I had not received any information regarding the reservation from NPR until we arrived at the ********************* in the afternoon on May 22 and were told our hotel was at another hotel outside ******** National Park, 1.5 hours away from *********************. We had to find a place to stay for the day and paid expensive costs due to the mistakes of NPR on May 22.On May 23, we checked in the Best Western Inn that NPR reserved for **. NPS cited $598.22 for the hotel rate, and charged ** a fee of $59.82. However, we found out the actual rate for the Best Western Inn for ** was only $282.44.I called NPR and wrote to NPR to discuss the above issues. NPR refused to admit any problems and refused to refund the fee of $59.82 for May 22 when it did not provide the service, and the overcharged fee of $31.58 for for May 23.National Park Reservations

This web site is not affiliated with US National Parks. It is a bait and switch booking scam that leads you to believe that you are booking at a certain location, processes your payment, then forces you to another hotel/location. When you have figured out that in fact the lodging of your first choice was never available and wish to cancel they take a 10% fee. I feel sorry for American tourists and foreign visitors that think they are booking through the National ************ and end up getting taken. Bad business all around.CRNational Park Reservations

This client was not charged a fee by our company. We waived our fee as a courtesy due to the properties delay in changing a room type. The client called into our office 6 times and each time listened to our automated system which fully discloses our terms and conditions before you can speak to an agent. She was also verbally told of our fee prior to securing a reservation. She called to change her room type and the lodge is on off season so a change is never guaranteed. The client was advised that the lodge did not have the room type available as soon as the property personal reached out to us and we waived her fee. We are surprised that the client would submit a review when we did not charge her anything for our services.Review fromStephen C.
