We purchased a boat from Bretz on May 3, 2025. We have had nothing but problems:1. The first day we took it out, the ignition fell down into the dashboard with the key. The battery cable (unbeknownst to us) came loose and the engine would not move up or down for towing.2. The boat went back to the shop. These problems took two weeks to fix...two weeks we couldn't use the boat. 3. After we purchased the boat, we saw it advertised for $5,000 less than we paid. It was like pulling teeth bit after 3 weeks they did send our money back. 4. We asked that they upgrade the steering to hydraulic instead of cable. The not only left the hydraulic lines hanging down below the pontoons where they would easily get snagged on a stick, but the set up the steering BACKWARDS! Their invoice states, "Steering tested and steers great!" We nearly hit another boat and it was impossible to back up. 5. We also asked that they install a quick connect on the inside of the battery box to more easily power power things down. The installed it on the OUTSIDE of the box where anyone can trip it and or damage it.6. They added a tilt wheel steering wheel that gets stuck repeatedly when attempting to raise or lower it. 7. Multiple calls to the dealer and even someone in ******* have resulted in absolutely no apologies or remedies for correction. At this point, we just want our money back so we can purchase something reliable from a honest dealer. We are tired of being repeatedly lied to and promised solutions that never happen. We have wated so many hours trying to deal with Bretz. We would greatly appreciate any help you can provide. Thank you.Business Response

To Whom It May Concern,
Thank you for the opportunity to respond to the concerns raised by Mr. ********* regarding their recent boat purchase from Bretz RV & Marine. We regret the frustration theyve experienced and would like to provide context, outline the steps taken to resolve the issues, and confirm the current status.
The Leppelmans purchased a new pontoon boat from our dealership on May 3, 2025.Shortly after delivery, they encountered several issues, which we took seriously and have worked diligently to correct.
Ignition and Battery Cable Issue:
On their first outing, the ignition fell into the dash and a battery cable had come loose, preventing the motor from trimming up for towing. These issues were corrected under warranty after the boat was returned to our service department. We acknowledge and regret the two-week downtime this caused during the beginning of the boating season.
Price Adjustment Concern:
After the sale, the customers saw the boat advertised at a lower price. Although pricing updates are sometimes made post-sale, we honored the price difference and refunded $5,000 to the customer.
Hydraulic Steering Installation:
The steering was initially installed incorrectly and needed correction. We have since addressed this issue the hydraulic steering is now functioning properly and the system was inspected to ensure safe and correct installation.
Battery Disconnect Location:
The customer requested a quick-disconnect switch be installed for easier power access. Due to the design of the battery box, there is no feasible way to mount a standard disconnect on the inside without modifying the box itself. The wiring must remain inside the box. Weve explained this to the customer, and theyve indicated they are satisfied with the solution as installed.
Tilt Steering Wheel Functionality:
The sticking tilt mechanism on the steering wheel has been addressed, and no further issues have been reported.
Communication and Follow-Up:
We acknowledge that our communication did not meet the customer's expectations early in the process. Weve since worked closely with them to resolve outstanding issues and ensure that they feel heard and supported.
We are delivering the boat back to the customer today, with all concerns addressed. We appreciate their patience and the opportunity to make things right. Our goal is always to provide a world-class experience, and were committed to learning from this situation to better serve our customers in the futureInitial Complaint

Purchased a travel trailer from Bretz RV on June *******. Paid an additional $499 to Bretz for the processing of all trailer documentation, including registration. Temporary registration was not provided on purchase date. Was reassured that trailer paperwork would be provided to our local MVD right away.Checked with Brewtz when trailer paperwork was not available at local MVD at the end of July. Bretz manager lied to me when he stated that paperwork was sent to local MVD on June 29, 2024. On August 21, 2024 local MVD confirmed that they still did not have trailer paperwork, and that their records showed that Bretz RV barely applied for title/registration on July 10, 2024.I also found out that Bretz turned down a better financing rate through a local credit union 4 days before the purchase date. Instead Bretz gave our loan to a Wisconsin financing company that profited from a higher finance rate.Business Response

While we are sorry there was a delay in filing the registration/title paperwork, there are sometimes circumstances that create these delays. This can mean excess time, payroll and costs to process the paperwork which is one of the reasons for a Doc Fee. The doc fee was disclosed on the paperwork and the buyer agreed to those terms and the delay was unfortunately out of our control. We do not feel there should be a refund of the $499.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: Yes, we were aware of excessive documentation fee at the time of purchase. We were also told not to worry about the documentation being timely and orderly taken care of as we left the business lot. Fast forward two months and 12 days later, I am the one chasing the business employees to do their job so I personally can chase after the paperwork I paid the business to handle for me.Not only are they not taking responsibility for s******* up my paperwork and wasting my time and money, but they also had the audacity to lie to me several times about the origin and location of the paperwork.
"Man up" and recognize your several mistakes and have the decency to refund the money I paid for a service I did not get!!!
Sincerely,

In July of 2023, we purchased a *******MS Momentum from Bretz RV store in ********, *******. We had a miserable experience in trading in and purchasing from this store. We had talked to many sales associates in the first two months of purchasing our Momentum. It was a joke. We spent over $145,000 at this dealership to be treated like we were. Complaints were communicated about purchasing our RV We left their RV lot not having funding for it until August. *** in accounting had to overnight our purchase agreements to sign with a new bank with new rates and payments. We then didnt receive our sales tax money in exact full until September which meant we had an expired tag and were NOT able to camp during this time. We did not get the Duratain under coating as promised before pick up of new rig in July 16 2023. This was told to us by your service department it was done at pick up on July 16th 2023 and signed off completed. IT WAS NOT COMPLETED. We were in communication immediately as this was a big promise from your sales and service department. Your staff told us to get it Duratained (coated) in our area (*******, **) and send the bill to their offices. I hope this awful purchase from you comes to an end with this reimbursement check in the amount of $3195.18 for the Duratain/diamond coat we had to pay for out of pocket. We received a phone call from the manager of the store in June 2024 after I sent a letter to him and their store. He was very apologetic and said he would fix it. Still no check or phone call back as promised once again.Business Response

This is unfortunate as this was thought to have been handled. The purchase of the product is being refunded/cancelled and sent to the customer's lender account, per bank rules, and the difference is being sent to the lender by us. We are sorry for the delay in getting this taken care of. The total net being credited to the loan is as requested.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
It should not be going back to the loan, but a check made out to us personally as we paid for it out-of-pocket. The check should be for the amount in full as listed in the original complaint, please.
Sincerely,

Unfortunately we are bound by the banks rules. Since we had to refund the initial purchase of the product, which we have a closed RO proving the products were applied with and active warranty, and we are uncertain as to who stated it was not applied. Whoever made the comment was incorrect, but we are in good faith refunding the money. While it may not make sense, we are stuck upholding the lender requirements, and the net effect is the same.Initial Complaint

July 6th signed paperwork at mso bretz rv for a van that was to be brought from ******** to ********, to look over, test drive and have an inspection on it but bretzs. July 6 put a ****** deposit down Was told van would be brought over and gone through and be ready the week of July 8-12. July 12 they scheduled a pick up to finalize paperwork and walk through the van to show how everything works. On July 12, the van had not had its recalls completed, and to drive off with it on Friday 12th required me signing a waiver not holding them responsible for NOT fixing them. I did not sign waiver. I have spoken with three different managers only to be told by one, not my area, the second said I would not get my deposit back, and the third was the general manager who was going to make some calls and see what options were available. He did not follow up. Text him yesterday and he said he would call me back again and failed to follow up. This has been my experience, I was told by salesman that if the van arrived and it was not what I was expecting that I would get my deposit back. Lie one, the start of many over the last two weeks. I currently STILL have not received my van and currently can not get a response or answer on when it may be done. More lies. I have requested to four individuals to cancel this transaction some verbal, some in text message. I would like my money back!!! This is NOT a stand up business, nor is it even close to acceptable business practices. I realize the treatment Im receiving is based on my gender and they are disrespectful to me due to my female status, they are condescending, patronizing me and ignoring me. Have had over 25 text message conversations with many of the staff, along with 10 or more phone calls.Business Response

On or about March 15, 2024, I signed a purchase agreement and paid a $5,000 down payment to purchase a camper. The terms of the agreement are dependent on me being approved for financing for the agreed upon terms. I was not approved for financing for the terms agreed as I was informed I needed either a larger down payment or a co-signer. I never signed any financing documents. Since the purchase agreement is null and void per its own terms, I requested my down payment be returned. I never purchased a camper. The business refuses to refund my down payment of $5,000.Business Response

Hello,Yes on yesterday Feb 2 **** I came to Bretz RV to get my propane which I always do as a member and **** is the one would give everyone propane. However, sometimes he is not there which is fine, but everytime I have gotten someone else they are rude or antisemetic towards me. Yesterday I drove up and the workers were just standing there looking at some elses car for more than 10 mins. I had to walk over and ask them to call someone over for propane. They called this skinny guy I never seen before; I could tell he was gonna be off. I have seen at many propane shops before were they will use many tactics to rip off their customers. Corporate sells 20 pound tanks that should hold 5 gal. And only fill up to 4.1 then there are tactics were at other propane filling store I have been rip off because the filler will start the propane fill and keep moving the propane valve on the side of the tank; which makes the propane fill less and make the machine read faster or slower on certain ones to manipulate the reading of the machine's gallons. I brought two 20 pound tanks and they both only fill to 4.2 due to manufactor. However, one of them was half full and was filled to 2 gal. The other was fill to 3.4 because the guy was manipulating the valve on the tank. He tried to charge me 7.8 gal which with the member price was almost $24. When I came in to pay the same guy that filled the tank wanted to check me out; which was odd because they have other people who do that. This dude was trying to run some game on me that day. So I told him I was paying $15 for 5gallons because that is really all he filled and he got upset and said the machine don't lie and I said you manipulated it. He went looked at it, cameback and said it says 7.8gal. I said well unless you plan to give me 7.8gal of propane I am paying $15 for 5gallons. He stood there looking dumb, cameback and said fine I will take the $15 but don't comeback. I said I am member, I am coming back; get my receipt! Do better.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: I do not want to have the redunant back and forward about if it can happen or not; I made the thesis that it has in other places and that was the first time it happened at Bretz. However, men do take up for eachother; so I will skip the call. I already addressed it personally that day with the guy who did it that day; as I stated on my first complaint. Anyways, I was expecting that you would atleast acknowlegde how I was spoken to (the guy walked up careless; no customer service like I did not exist before he started) and confirm the understanding that I should have never been told as a member for years; that I should not come around; because some new empolyee did not like me. That was rude.
Sincerely,

Bretz RV allowed damage to occur to my RV while in their possession specifically to prevent said damage. Bretz was contracted to winterize the unit. I delivered the unit in good working order, undamaged, and warm. They left the unit in freezing temperatures for at least 5 days before inspection. The unit was found to be freeze damaged. Bretz then took an additional ********************* about the damage. They then blamed the damage on me and and offered to quote a repair. This is the latest in a series of irresponsible and predatory practices I have personally experienced from Bretz RV.Business Response

Purchased new rv June 2022 and have had pages of issues (see attachments) Computer command panel, Doors outside flying open, main doors not closing(one not put together properly @factory), locks not locking, scratches on glass & mirrors, wiring missing, floor underneath falling, warped inside door, recliner issues, broken blinds, molding & silicone inside &out, fridge front and counter & other scratches, batteries that dont support solar power in rv, backsplash on walls by coffee bar & sink, broken stove glass cover. Items have fixed but still having problems with some and told we need to pay for some that have been fixed but still issues. Bigger issues like a refrigerator not being cold went on until new one installed in July 2023. Waiting on installation of new outside back door to be installed. Continuing Computer command center, front door issue as well as needing a new roof and have fiberglass creaking. Recliners screws pulling out of floor and floor issue in living room. Ive been dealing with issues that are to extent in a new purchase which give good cause for ongoing concern. It has been referred to as a covid rv from day one with all issues and I didnt buy new for problems especially now the structural issues. Bretz have referred us to Keystone regarding replacement or returning the lemon instead of providing assistance to their customer for replacement or refund which Keystone has denied. Since we bought the rv from Bretz, they should be willing to step up with help not just continue to make money from Keystone for repairs under my warranty such as $10,000+ refrigerator. Everyone understands why we are wanting a replacement or refund by can only suggest an attorney. I will say that the assistant service manager, ******, who *** worked with this year, has been great in attempting to get things fixed. However, we paid for a new, not a used rv with massive issues. Thank you!Business Response

This business had done a purchase agreement, in what I thought I was signing a purchase order for my bank. They told me the value for the trailer I would purchase is 33k, the **** blue book value the **** blue book value supplied by the bank is $17,900. I had asked to cancel and they can keep my $***** deposit to "hold" the unit. They told me I am in a purchase agreement, but the lender will not Fund the loan as it does not meet value. I have been harrassed by this company as they will not release my "hold" and says If i dont purchase through my bank I will have to apply with them and get my loan with them. Which I refused as I have my own bank, it also says in the purchase agreement I can cancel if funds cannot be recieved, or if they keep my $***** hold. They refuse to keep the ***** hold and refuse to let me drop the agreement. They did not review the case of "you may not back out of this contract." This is entrapment, I am terrified to speak with them, as they are forcing me to now get a loan with them. They are forcing me to now get a loan with them. They are They are threatening me with "the camper has already had everything fixed, so you are now responsible" I left at noon on Saturday and called today around noon as well. Its been less than 72hrs and 1 business day closed. When we left town at 1pm the trailer had not even been pulled from the sales lot. I am astonished for words and very afraid of the repercussions this business will take from me towards my credit score if they obtain my social security number. I feel very threatened and feel as if this coming is trying fraudulently try to entrap me into getting a loan from them. They kept pushing me to get the loan with them and I repeatedly told them no. The gal told me "sounds like buyers remorse. Which isnt our problem" I told her It is not, but she kept "mocking" me. I told Her i was trying to peacefully dissolve the contract that I wasnt aware I had intitaled, the guy said "just ************ row."Business Response
