I was interested in a property that Plum Property Management advertised on its website and on *********** When I inquired about the property, I was told it was available and that my partner and I, who would be living there, needed to fill out separate applications. After filling out two applications and paying $100.00 in application fees, I was told the property was not available and had not been available for over a week. When I tried to call Plum Property Management I was put on hold for over an hour after I asked to speak to a manager. This is a scam and this business is not trustworthy. Do not do business with them.

I rented from Plum for 3 years and had difficulties with them from the start. Not only did they make contacting them/getting in touch difficult but they made the entire renting process difficult. When my roommate and I had service issues, we also noticed things not being left how we had them and attempted to address the property management snooping around our apartment and we received no response to our email about the service individuals opening doors that were not part of the service issue at hand. As well as that, service issues involving electrical help were quoted at $80 an hour. I dont know about you, but I was not willing to pay $80 an hour for switching an outlet however it can cause some issues when done incorrectly (electrical fire). We were told we needed to change out shop/garage style lights with no knowledge of them either. When move out rolled around, we were provided photos of things that needed cleaning however the photos were not specific on where these items were that needed a better clean. When trying to go back to clean at the allotted time that my roommate set with them, they were not there and we could not get keys to go back and clean. If my roommate and I did not give them a hard time at move out, I do not think we would have gotten as much of our deposit back as we did. **** is out for themselves and even their former workers of **** warned us about how difficult it would be to move out. If you can help it, rent from anyone else in ********.

I rented from Plum in college and I would never recommend them to anyone. Here's just a few reasons why: Their lease agreement is nearly fifty pages. FIFTY. That's absolutely ridiculous for a lease. And, in that document, they will try to get you to sign away your rights, which is illegal and won't hold ** in court. They took almost all of our deposit after we spent DAYS cleaning the place and left it in excellent condition. They attempted to charge me/evict me for an unauthorized pet that I had definitely submitted the payment, monthly pet rent and paperwork for. They lost the paperwork in their disaster of an office and only relented when I provided physical evidence. The owner, ********, directly threatened me, to my face, with her "legal consultant" for insisting that the paperwork on the dog had been submitted/approved. I even brought a dated copy of the submitted and signed paperwork with me into her office and showed it to her! She said "that doesn't mean anything." The truth was that she didn't want to admit she was wrong for threatening a 19 yr old girl who was smart enough to keep paper copies of documents. I hope to never EVER have to interact with her again.I was charged a fine for "loud music after 10PM" when it was actually my downstairs neighbor who played music. I didn't even own a stereo.I was charged a fine for "not picking up after pets" when I definitely picked up after my dog and picked up OTHER people's dog p*** too. Not sure how they're even monitoring for that anyway.I was charged for unspecified "noise complaints" when me and my two female roommates hardly ever had people over or made any noise whatsoever. All we did was study and play videogames. These people are legitimate thieves. They will stop at nothing to take every extra cent you can give them. Do not engage, stay far away.
