  I want to share my distressing experience with Kabens, owned by ***********************. We entered into this arrangement with high hopes, but it soon took a troubling turn. My mother made a $90,000 down payment to Kabens to realize her dream of owning a cabin since she couldn't secure a traditional bank loan. She accepted a loan offer from **************** at a 10% interest rate with a balloon payment, diligently making monthly payments of $1,053.After a couple of months, we began to have concerns about the project. We realized that we weren't kept informed about permits and the cabin kit ordering process as promised in our contract, casting doubt on the company. I decided to search for the company online again. I was shocked to discover numerous complaints, all linked to the company and its owner, ************************** response, I contacted ******************, our sales representative. He told me he no longer worked with ***** and had only been with Kabens for four months. He suggested I seek legal advice and reach out to our General Contractor, *************************, who had signed our contract with ***********When I contacted ******************, he confirmed he had no knowledge of our project and that his signature on the contract was forged. After this I reached out to ***** again, requesting a refund, but he initially asked for a call to discuss options and then stopped responding to our calls and texts. Moreover, we found ourselves blocked from accessing our project's non-existent progress on the company's portal.Adding to our difficulties, our sales representative, ******************, resorted to legal threats if we didn't remove his name from our review. This further complicates our family's already challenging situation. It's disheartening to witness the use of legal threats against victims who are sharing their genuine experiences.Our family is going through a very tough time, and we hope others exercise caution when considering business with Kabens and ***********************.

  *************************** was hired by Kabens to transport a flatbed load from ************************ ************************************************************* to ****************************************************************** on 7/28/2023. Agreed to NET 30 payment terms. As of today's date, we have yet to receive payment, and repeated attempts to communicate with Kabens and its owner, *****, have gone unanswered.

  ***************************** I am REPOSTING this because I was threatened by the owner. This company is not honest in any way shape or form! The owner, ***********************, will happily take your money, and then, NOTHING! He leaves you waiting for something to happen for months, even a year or more, and still nothing! If you want to cancel the build he will claim to have you in a contract, but, you do not get a signed copy, He uses every trick in the book to look like he will start building, but it is all lies! He told me and my partner that he would be pulling permits to get our build started, Nope, 3 x, the same thing, different times; still nothing! We're out $85,000.00 due to *****. I am writing this to save you from making the mistake as we did. ALL the information is true, and not meant to harass, but rather inform the general public. Buyers BEWARE!Response ****, you just finalized your floor plan 2 months ago and we have put you on the schedule. This review is false and misleading. You cannot contract w a company to build a custom home and then simply back out after material and deposits have been paid. You are in the wrong. *** communicated w you are in breech of contract. We have spent countless hours designing your custom home w ******* and all of the sudden you want to cancel. I as a business owner will not be taken advantage of. Im reasonable and helpful and you are trying to use online reviews to hurt my company without justification. Please remove immediately *******'s reply ***********************, I gave you more than enough to do what you said you would . I just want our money back! We told you WEEKS ago that we changed our minds and wanted our money back. YOU AGREED, and told me it would take 7- 10 business days for a check. That changed to, Oh, the check will not be ready, you would update us on Monday. Now you say, we have a signed contract and you won't release any money due to it being breached. There's no signed contract, you refused to produce it.

  We signed a contract with KABENS to build a 600 sq cabin on July 29, 2022 and paid $66,718.33.4 months later, we were told our cabin kit had been delivered and our first 10% milestone payment was due.We paid $13,343.65 on Nov. 18, 2022. Immediately after this second payment, communication went unreturned for weeks stretching into months.We continued to get runaround and finally had enough.On Feb. 27, 2023, I tracked down the manufacturer of the cabin kits and the owner confirmed no kit had ever been ordered.I told the owner that we wanted a refund.He texted, My attorney will reach out to you in a few days and you will be refunded in 15 days.15 days came and went with no money and no call from his attorney, so we hired an attorney of our own.KABENs assets were seized by the ***********************.On April 4, 2023., the judge court-ordered the payment of our funds.The owner, through his attorney, *******************************, said he would pay in the 30-day period ordered by the court. He did not pay.We have a new court date for July 10, 2023.We have unearthed an assortment of public records including a restraining order filed by one of his customers. Owner has settled out of court with one customer and she had to sign a non-disclosure agreement. Owner was sued by his own divorce atty for non-payment of $4072.99 and settled for $1500. All of the aforementioned records and more can be accessed by the public in Buncombe + Rutherford County, ** Courthouses. Owner has 2 felony warrants out for his arrest in Oconee County, ** for fraud.There are 5 other customers who are owed money or have cabins left incomplete, some that were started over 2 years ago.KABENs is under investigation by the Lead Investigator for the **** ***** of ******* Contractors b/c neither ***** nor KABENS has a general contractor license. Every time he or his employees sign a contract and collect $30,000.00+ from a customer, it is a misdemeanor in the ***********.
