We purchased a pool pump, it was installed and worked for a few days. We called the manufacturer last Friday and were told they would ship the replacement parts. We followed up today and were told the parts are not available and to call back Friday.Business Response

I had an inground pool built 7 years ago and Pentair products were used for the installation. Two of the three "Globrite" lights failed in the first 3 years and were replaced. My installer said that both the lights had cracks in the housing allowing water to enter leading to failure. Again 2 of the lights have now failed and the 1 year warranty is up, so I am responsible for paying for new lights at approximately $700 each plus installation. I believe that Pentair sold me a defect light and new long ago that the Globrite light had a defect and should have recalled the item and replaced them with new and improved light. The pool only gets used for a few months a year with the lights only on 5 to 6 times for 1 to 2 hours each time. Pentair should stand behind this expensive product, the lights should last longer than they do. The least Pentair should do is share in the expense by selling the new improved Microbrite light to the home owner at Pentairs cost thereby off setting some of the home owners expense of having been sold a defective item.Business Response

Purchased the Pentair IChlor 30 salt system for my pool.Purchased in ****** Ichlor 30 stopped working in 2024 fast forward to May 2025 and the replacement has gone bad as well.Pentair says they will not cover the replacement. The main issue is their product has failed me twice in a 3 year period .They should honor an extended warranty of replacement of product when it breaks within the warranty.I believe Pentair pulls a bait and switch. They sell you a sub par product, when they make a claim on the warranty they replace your product with a product that has a half life and is known to go bad and take you outside your warranty period. My warranty was originally set to expire on March 14th 2025. 3 months after the warranty and a full replacement they will not honor the sub par product they sold **** would like a full replacement of this iChlor 30.Business Response

Pool control panel been broken for 6 out of 12 months that it has been installed. I tried calling pentair to get help fixing it but waited 2 hours kn hold unable to talk with anyone. Contacted my pool installer and they cant get parts from pentair to fix panel. It takes months at a time to get it fixed. This last time it has been broken for 3 1/2 months.Business Response

All of the Pentair Globrite lights on my pool have failed. I understand that the lights are defective-and Pentair knows this-but continued to sell these products. They are designed to last ****** hours-but were manufactured with a known design defect and Pentair refuses to replace due to the terms of its "warranty." Replacing these products (with non defective lights) will cost more than $5000. There are innumerable complaints online about these faulty products.Business Response

I purchased the Pentair Superflo Variable Speed Pump on 6/8/2023.Model Pentair ****** PMP Superflo VST 1.5 ALM Serial # ************** Within the warranty period, I called the Pinch-A-***** store complaining about the pump, needing help since the display panel was fading out, and hard to read.The store said that I would have to pay for a technician to come out, even though I had a warranty on the pump.Since then, when I stopped in the store complaining, several times, they said the very same thing. Now the display panel is definitely hard to read and adjust, so I have to run the pool pump manually, which it is to be automated, but not seeing the display panel, I cannot tell what I am setting or adjusting.This complaint is to get the pump replaced, since I originally complained during warranty, and several times afterwards, and they were not willing to come to see nor adjust the pump to validate my complaint.Business Response

Globrite Pool Lights keep burning out within a year. Pentair has been selling Globrite Lights for pools since 2013 and continues to sell them even though there have been complaints regarding the light bulbs burning out within a year and sometimes within a shorter period. Pool ******* companies ********** that these bulbs are known to burn out in short periods of time and recommend that customers change to microbrite lights. I had my pool installed by California Pools in 2018 and have ***laced my Globrite lights 6 times since then, my most recent ***lacement was a year ago with the same bulb burning out recently. I recently had to ***lace all 4 Globrite lights with Microbrite lights incurring a cost of $3200. I have contacted Pentair and complained about the lights and was told by a Pentair *** that they are aware of the problem and are trying to address it. ******** they company continues to sell these bulbs with the knowledge of the issue causing the consumer financial loss of $750- to $850 per bulb each time it needs to be ***laced. I asked Pentair to please provide me with 4 Microbrite lights which my pool *** recommended and I would incur the cost of installation. The company refused and now I am looking for assistance in recouping the $3200 I had to pay on January 18, 2025 for ***lacing my 4 burnt out bulbs. Also there are complaints on line that clearly state that the Globrite lights burn out within a year or sooner. I purchased a new home with a new pool in Aug 2020. My pool has 9 pentair lights. In the last year that the pool was under warranty, 5 of the lights were replaced. I was advised pentair knows of defective seals resulting in light failure. Since that time, 4 of the 5 replacements have gone out. Pentair is denying replacements because the pool is out of warranty. However, the replacements have all been within the last 3 years.... so why are they continuing to send defective materials and not cover them for a new 3 year period? I'd like pentair to stand behind their product and since the new replacement lights have all failed within a year of install, replace the equipment.Business Response

I had an in ground swimming pool installed in October 2023. The pool was installed by Caribbean Pools and Spas. The pool was essentially not used in 2023. The pool was used in 2024 from May 2024 through September 2024. Part of the pool package include a water heater manufactured by Pentair Pools (MasterTemp Heater : ******* BTU). I submitted a claim with the manufacturer (Claim WO-******** and Case # TS04120552) and it was concluded the pool heater manufactured by Pentair was defective. The heat exchanger became corroded and eventually cracked. The manufacturer concluded the repair is the consumer's responsibility. This repair will cost me in excess of $1,000. As a consumer, I feel this is something that should last more than a season of use. I may have used the heater no more than 4 times in the entire season. I'm not seeking compensation for the heater. I'm seeking that the repair be made by the manufacturer to honor their defective product.Business Response
