I am rejecting this response because:

My house was on the market to be sold. The bank that the buyers were using asked for a home inspection. Therefore it is true that Cedarwood Home Inspection did not work for me but for the buyers bank, therefore the damage that he did to my water system was his fault.

I hope this clears up the complaint that Cedarwood Home inspection is responsible for the damage.

    Thank you

    Business Response

    Date: 04/02/2024

This complaint is completely invalid and unwarranted. The complainant is not my customer and has never hired me or my company to provide any services for him. I conducted a home inspection at the complainant's residence for a potential buyer. The home inspection was completed on February 27, 2024. During the inspection I discovered that the complainants well did not have a sufficient amount of water reserves to complete the inspection. Furthermore, the well recovery rate was very slow which prolonged the inspection time more than usual. The complainant would not allow me any more time to complete my well inspection and therefore the well inspection failed. After all my inspections were stopped the bladder tank and all it components were not leaking and were functioning as intended. The attached picture which was taken at approximately 1:20 PM, a few minutes before I left shows that there is no water on the ground. If the failure of the bladder tank was the result of the inspection this leak would've occurred while the inspector was still on site. The fact that the bladder tank has failed is not the result of the well inspection and would have occurred even if the well inspection did not take place. The fact that it fails shows that a system or component required repair and was not functioning as intended. I am not aware of the specific reason why the potential buyers decided to back out of the deal. However, the complainants foundation wall at the front of the house where he had storage was bowing inward and had visible cracks that have been repaired and painted over. This is an indication of a potential foundation problem and I recommended further evaluation by a structural engineer. If that is the reason the potential buyers decided to back out of the purchase, that is a decision they made themselves. I do not advise my clients whether they should or should not buy a property. I only provide them with a complete and detailed inspection report of my findings.
