I am submitting this complaint to formally request a refund of $1,100 for a training program I enrolled in on Sept 26, 2023 at ********* Phlebotomy Training Specialists. The program was advertised as providing comprehensive, hands-on training for drawing blood, handling and labeling samples, and ensuring patient care. However, the institution failed to meet these commitments, and my experience was far below the promised standards.Reasons for Complaint:1.Training Cancellation: The training was canceled without offering a reschedule or alternative, leaving me unable to complete the program.2.Misrepresentation: The program's advertised benefits, such as proper equipment and reasonable accommodations for certification preparation, were not delivered.3.Non-Delivery of Services: Key elements of the program, such as hands-on training and guidance from qualified instructors, were missing, resulting in an incomplete and poorly organized experience.4.Substandard Quality: The training lacked professionalism, with unqualified instructors and a disregard for student needs.Additionally, I faced unique challenges due to a traumatic injury that limited the use of my left arm. I sought a program capable of accommodating my circumstances and providing support, yet my concerns were ignored. I have been requesting a refund since February 26, 2024, with no resolution or effort from the institution. This situation has caused significant financial and emotional distress, and I am seeking a prompt resolution.Requested Resolution:I kindly request a full refund of $1,100. I will consider further action, including escalating this complaint through legal channels.Thank you for your attention to this matter.Sincerely,****** ******** *******

    Business Response

    Date: 01/29/2025

Att. BBB of Southern Piedmont and Western N.C.,
Please read over our response to Responses to complaints that have been made by Ms. ********-Dinkins our responses are recorded in bold text for reference.
    Reasons for Complaint:

    1. Training Cancellation:  The training was not cancelled.  Tuition was due in full and Ms. ********-Dinkins had missed her extension deadline to pay.
     2. Misrepresentation:  We follow all state requirements and guidelines. There was never an accommodation request from this student.  The process to request accommodations are listed in the attached Enrollment Agreement.  Testing accommodations are made through the **** directly by the student, not through our company. The **** won't allow students to request an accommodation if the owe tuition to their institutions
    3. Non-Delivery of Services: The students in the program with Ms. ********-******* were able to pass their national CPT1 exam which shows our instructor delivered a quality educational experience. We reached out to other students as part of our investigations and they were unable to substantiate Ms. ********-******* accusations.

    4. Substandard Quality: Our Instructor is more than qualified to teach phlebotomy.  Our program is approved through the ******************** System which ensures quality expectations are met. All instructors must file for State approval.

We have zero written requests for an accommodation form Ms. ********-*******.  The reason Ms. ********-******* is asking for a refund is because she was not able to pay for her course and therefore was not allowed to continue even though we tried to work with her.   All responses to Ms. ********-******* refund requests are attached.  Based on the signed enrollment Ms. ********-******* is not eligible for a refund and owes a balance for the course she attended.  We feel strongly that we acted within the terms of the enrollment agreement which is attached.
